Biden has mishandled classified information his entire career, points out Kyle Martinsen in this thread.

THREAD: Biden's history of MISHANDLING classified information -- starting in the 1980s.
1. In 1986, Biden bragged he "twice threatened to go public with covert action plans by the Reagan administration" if he disagreed with them.

2. In 2009, Biden accidentally divulged the existence of a secret, classified bunker under the residence of the vice president. [FoxNews link to story.]
3. In 2013, Biden openly displayed a "codeword" classified binder in front of reporters in the Oval Office.

Codeword classification is the highest level of secret, above Top Secret. A codeword-classified matter is one assigned a level of classification, which is itself a secret. That is, let's say, hypothetically, that the codeword assigned to classify information about thermonuclear bombs is POST ANTE. Even the codeword "POST ANTE" would be a secret, and so would the subject matter that POST ANTE is assigned to cover. It is classified to even say the codeword POST ANTE or to say "POST ANTE is the codeword given to information about thermonuclear bombs."

So this is obviously a high level of classification -- but there's Scranton Joe, showing off the file binder protecting the document.

Now, I don't think I see the actual classified codword on the outside of the binder, so I don't think he gave that away. I think the point of the binder is to hide the codeword.

Still, this man, who Karine Jean-Pierre says has been "very very clear about taking classified intelligence very very seriously," does not seem to be treating codeword-classified information very seriously. In fact, he seems to be stupidly cavalier about it.

Charges of domestic terrorism against these people make perfect sense. Unless you're NBC.
The network claims that domestic terrorism charges "can be politicized and used against marginalized groups or those disliked by government."
The NBC article cites Patrick Keenan, a professor of law at the University of Illinois, who says that civil rights groups aren't crazy about domestic terrorism charges "because of the risk of politicization, because they can be used against politically disfavored groups by the government."
No, seriously.
What's really funny is that the article proves that the Atlanta protesters are domestic terrorists by citing Georgia law:

A 2017 Georgia law defines domestic terrorism as a felony intended to kill or harm people; "disable or destroy critical infrastructure, a state or government facility, or a public transportation system"; "intimidate the civil population or any of its political subdivisions"; and change or coerce state policy or affect the conduct of government "by use of destructive devices, assassination, or kidnapping." Conviction carries a maximum sentence of 35 years in prison.
The allegations against the protesters include trespassing, resisting arrest, throwing rocks and glass bottles and damaging property, including setting fire to a police car. Authorities have also said they found "explosive devices, gasoline, and road flares" in an area in the forest where protesters had makeshift treehouses.
But what these civil rights groups who are all up in arms about calling these people domestic terrorists either miss or willfully ignore is that the current administration is lining up against "politically disfavored groups."
Take a look at the way the federal government has treated those who entered the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Without any statutory language giving them this power, the SEC will make a law -- it will call it a "rule," but it's a new law written by the executive -- that businesses will be forced to speculate about how climate change could impact their business models, and include that in their financial disclosures.

This is now putting government coercion behind the ESG agenda. They intend to make every business whose shares trade publicly affirm the reality of climate change, and tell shareholders how bad it is, and how climate change could make these shares worthless if the ice caps melt (or the droughts come, etc.)

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce will sue the Securities and Exchange Commission if it goes forward with a rule requiring companies to speculate about how climate change could impact their business models.

The article by Michael Ginsberg immediately apologizes for citing the Chamber of Commerce at all, noting that they endorse Democrats in elections all the time now.

However, he points out, that doesn't make them wrong here.

"They didn't follow APA [Administrative Procedures Act] rule-making. They were capricious in their rule-making. They've exceeded their statutory authority. They've been put on notice that they exceeded their statutory authority," he explained in a preview of their legal strategy. "This fight is playing out right now in the comments. Everything that we're doing, we're doing with an eye towards" litigation.
Republicans are particularly worried about scope three of the proposed rule, which requires businesses to project the impact of future unknown climate disasters on their finances.
"The SEC should not be in the business of forcing companies to disclose made up non-material climate statistics," Arkansas Rep. French Hill told the Daily Caller in July 2022, shortly after the SEC announced the rule.

In doing so, SCOTUS endorsed the "major question" doctrine which says that if an agency proposes to do something really big it needs express Congressional authorization. It's the start of cutting back on the Chevron ruling.

These same 20+ states have already said they'll sue the SEC the day after its climate rule goes final. FFS, they only need to do a global replace of "EPA" with "SEC" for their court papers.

Chamber of Commerce is just trying to get in on the party.

The main thing is, on almost any topic, he'd have to come in here and take a contrarian opinion about something. Not a major disagreement, just a minor quibble. Usually.

So for example, if he were here today, he'd be telling us why removing the brotherflucker from the foreign affairs committee was not necessarily a good idea.

Then he'd get his feelings hurt when people would tell him he was being a contrarian douchebag.

360 Just finished the rush tribute book with so many clips from his shows. I have been listening to the radio show for free through the national archives. The archives start with june 2005. It is amazing and also disturbing how timeless the content is.
