They Actually Made "MILF Island," Except Even More Degenerate
"MILF Island" was a fake reality show on 30 Rock, intended to show just how low and base TV producers could go.
Well, now TLC has actually commissioned and begun airing MILF Island, although now it's called "MILF Manor." And the premise of the fake reality show -- that young boys would be put into semi-sexual situations with sex-crazed MILFs -- wasn't enough for TLC.Because on this version of MILF Island, the young men who the women can sow their wild oats with are the MILFs' own sons.

We are witnessing both the apotheosis and the nadir of reality television, incest on the bubble as no longer taboo -- at least among a certain cohort of reality TV producers and very sad people desperate for any degree of fame.
'I don't think any of my sons realize I have an extremely high libido,' 59-year-old April Jayne -- even the names are porn-y -- tells us in a confessional. The only rational response to that is: Jeez lady, let's hope not. Why would any of your sons want that information? Which, of course, they now have, along with much of America. To see mainstream media treat this show with any degree of normalcy, let alone claim this garbage is a vehicle for feminist self-actualization, is an affront to us all. The one to keep your eye on, apparently, is Kelle (pictured above), who isn't that bothered that her son is on F*** Island with her. Except to the extent he "c***-blocks" her from getting laid.

Since the show premiered on Jan. 12, the series endured vicious reviews from both audiences and critics. As of publication, "Velma" garnered over 46,000 one-star ratings on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) website, with less than 2,000 giving the show a 10 out of 10. The aggregated 1.3 IMDB rating makes "Velma" the third-worst rated show and this week it was announced the series is the worst-rated animated show on the site. Aside from the adult and sexual content, many viewers criticized the series as an insult to fans of the long-running kids' series "Scooby-Doo" with various race-swapped characters and no appearance of the title character whatsoever.

Not to fill the cast for this show - that's easy - but to get an audience? Sure, some people will watch it for the shock value, but the target audience has to be people like this (or even worse, people who *long* to be like this).

I think it is a test of their contingency in case there is a space war and all satellites are taken out.
They can probably produce these quicker than we can shoot them down and are testing them for use in WWIII. I watched a good vid explaining this. The studio likely green lit two seasons worth of episodes in advance. They chop it half, air one half now one half next year... voila two seasons.
Animation is a tedious process. If they take a chance on it and it's a hit, they are a year ahead with premade 2 seasons in the can. If it's a flop, they release the second season and let it die.
The big question is if it gets a THIRD season. That is the big test.

The funny thing is that essentially it is mind pron for the elites while the plebes (and elites slumming it) just go to pronhub for their jollies over the same issues.
I seldom watch much these days other than Acorn or Britbox streaming. The Last Detective is a bittersweet series that I can recommend or one on FreeVue is Hustle (not the movie but the BBC series about a bunch of con artists)--sort of like a funny Mission Impossible series.

I did a (really short, rrr) free trial and thought their version of BR looked pretty good! I'm sure there are other great things on it. In my old AO, this happened routinely too but unsurprisingly, the legal framework around the business aspects of the union protected the farm/land and kept it in the family no matter what. Don't know the inner workings though.

Some of these families have owned the ground since the Spanish Land Grants. With every generation there are more people getting checks. The people from Oxnard have just made a killing.
A lot of them go broke and have to sell. That makes me sad. Or they sell off parcels, that makes me sad too if they had to sell.
The smart ones lease their ground to other farmers.

If you like the lavish productions of Brit Lit on tv, then Britbox is the one to get. Pretty much has all of Shakespeare's BBC productions for example.
Acorn has the unusual stuff and its geographic focus is broader than Britbox and it includes Aussie, NZ, Canadian, and Irish series. You would probably like Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries set in the 20's Melbourne Australia.

Animation is a tedious process. If they take a chance on it and it's a hit, they are a year ahead with premade 2 seasons in the can. If it's a flop, they release the second season and let it die.
The big question is if it gets a THIRD season. That is the big test.

The hook for Scooby was that it was *never* a real ghost (until the 90s which I disown). It was a reality-based show. Animation was Hanna Barberra terrible.

I have got to go back and rewatch Jericho. I remember the individual bombs in the cities but I don't recollect the EMP strike. As far as "One Second After" goes, an interesting concept but it was my first good and hard experience with Kindle books that hadn't seen a seconds worth of time with an editor. Disappointment.

Hanna Barberra made a profit from it and most animation designed for TV series was bad to be frank. Doing it the Disney cell by cell way was rapidly becoming too expensive for even Disney.
I believe both Sleeping Beauty and 101 Dalmations use some new techniques that served to lessen production costs. That is buried in the 101 Dalmations DVD that has a documentary about it. The other option was stop motion photography which is no picnic either and looks fake even if Master Ray Harryhausen did it.
Disney used perspective manipulation for both Darby O'Gill and the Gnomemobile in order to avoid animation for both of those and to make it seem real at the time.
