A federal agency says a ban on gas stoves is on the table amid rising concern about harmful indoor air pollutants emitted by the appliances.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission plans to take action to address the pollution, which can cause health and respiratory problems. “This is a hidden hazard,” Richard Trumka Jr., an agency commissioner, said in an interview. “Any option is on the table. As usual, "art" allows stuff not normally legal to others. You can film underage nudity if its artistic etc, according to judges, or its going to show at the Palm D'Or.
The nudity added nothing to the story, but it did make a lot of boys happy. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at January 09, 2023 08:04 PM (0hOvj) IIRC, the play indicates that R&J were 14 or 15, which was no big deal in the era portrayed. For my 15th birthday, some friends and I were going to go see some movie - I don't remember which one - but it had left the theater a couple of days earlier (this was in the 70's, so we were at the mercy of local newspapers for info).
Anyway, Romeo and Juliet was playing, for whatever reason, so we decided to see it instead. We were all young high school girls, so of course we were all weeping at the end of the movie. Mom had left us at the theater (trust me, we were nice girls who would never have dreamed of getting into trouble), so she didn't know that all of us virginal girls had seen a young man's bare backside! I don't think anyone told their mother about it, either, so it was our little secret for many, many years.... Posted by: Teresa in Fort Worth, Texas at January 09, 2023 08:13 PM (SRRAx) 130

Eh comeptent counsel especially in the face of dwindling revenues will likely run a calculation on the nuisance payout versus the number of times they had minors show the goods. Brooke Shields can take them to the cleaners if inclined if they settle. It is like the Rittenhouse thing if you are being interrogated on it by the morality cops of the deep state. "Wow Agent, Rittenhouse manages to shoot three people from Antifa er "the idea" and golly all three were registered sexual offenders. Help me out, I understand a LITTLE about actuarial theory extrapolating that ratio indexed to ALL the rioters present would tell you what about their moral makeup?" People are terrified of the moral and ethical implications of looking at things dispassionately and with an analytical mind. Posted by: sven at January 09, 2023 08:40 PM (Lzpvj) 207

This Cinderella story BS never works out. Be it Cincinnati or TCU, the playoff committee dropped the ball yet again. I know they're trying to liven things up and get the regulars out of the playoffs* or whatever, but their standards state "four best teams" and at no point in the season has TCU looked like one of the four best teams. A pretty good Big 12 team? Yes. But still just a regular pretty-good Big 12 team.
* and now they're expanding the playoffs, so that will be interesting to watch the reaction when the regulars never again miss another playoff. Guy driving a flatbed Ford F350 pulling a trailer with a really cool old timey tractor (like from the 1920's) rolls up at the gas station. On the back of his flatbed is a bunch of tools and a dead porcupine. Guy was youngish, and looked like he'd done some cowboying. He grabbed two five gallon gas cans and proceeded to fill up. We made eye contact and he said, "hey, how's it going?" Kinda glad my wife was napping in the passenger seat of our Elantra. Else-wise she might have been smitten. She likes them durn cowboys.
