A Suspect Is In Custody in the Idaho College Murders Case

He was arrested in northeastern Pennsylvania, in the Poconos Mountains or in Scranton. (I've read both. They probably mean the Poconos Mountains region, near Scranton.)

A suspect was taken into custody in connection with the investigation into the murders of four University of Idaho students, two federal law enforcement sources confirmed to CNN on Friday.

The arrest in the fatal stabbing case was made by the FBI in northeastern Pennsylvania, the sources said.

One source described the suspect as a man in his 20s and told CNN the arrest took place Friday morning.

The Moscow Police Department in Idaho said it will hold a news conference Friday at 1 p.m. local time (4 p.m. ET) to announce developments in the investigation.

He's a criminology graduate student.

He also showed what careers psychopaths normally take, the highest was law enforcement, followed by doctors and business executives. Sociopaths don't really have careers because they normally can't stand being around people and vice-versa. But psychopaths are overachievers that normally perform at the top level of any group and generally gravitate to careers that give them leverage over others.

89 ||A criminology student has been arrested for the murders of four University of Idaho students more than six weeks ago.

Arrest records obtained by DailyMail.com show that Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was arrested after FBI and local cops swooped in Scranton, Pennsylvania, at around 3am this morning.

Sources say that authorities knew who they were looking for and hunted the suspect down to Pennsylvania in the Pocono Mountains – more than 2,400 miles from Idaho.

Kohberger is being held for extradition in a criminal homicide investigation based on an active arrest warrant for first degree murder issued by the Moscow Police Department and Latah County Prosecutor’s Office.

It is understood that Kohberger is a college student but does not attend the University of Idaho, according to police sources.||

Better to say you didn't have a suspect than to alert the public to the danger. If he kills again before you find him, you can plead ignorance instead of incompetence.

The guy in the video I was watching said one of the key distinctions people have is they say psychopaths are born, sociopaths are made. Psychopaths lack to a great degree or entirely the ability for natural empathy. That is they have no inherent response within them that mirrors that of another person. They don't feel remorse or sympathy or guilt or anything in response to other people's pain. That does not mean they can't read emotions. Psychopaths, he says, are master manipulators and score very highly on social awareness tests. They read people very well. They just don't care.

Sociopaths, on the other hand, due to very bad sustained emotional or physical trauma adopt lifestyles that remove the effects of empathy from their actions. They can still feel guilt but they have become successful at completely blocking it from changing what they do.

Perhaps it's hinky. But I suspect that the cops figured out it was him by the next day, and he was already in the wind. So they hushed up 'til they found him. Better to say you didn't have a suspect than to alert the public to the danger. If he kills again before you find him, you can plead ignorance instead of incompetence.

Yes, you must of watched the same thing or have some experience. The guy said in both cases there is treatment. But you have to understand what the cure is. For psychopaths, the cure is for them to develop an internal decision-making system that allows them to behave as if they have a conscious. But it isn't a substitute and it never will be. He said drugs do nothing for psychopaths. The goal is to allow them to be a contributing member of society without harming people. Sociopaths can, on the other hand, be very effectively treated with drugs but it almost never works because it just masks what's eating them up inside. So the effective treatment for sociopaths is intense guided sessions with other people to convince them the world is worth living in. Sociopaths can find more of a normal but it isn't easy.

I dunno. Their early stuff is what turned me on to the band. Once they went mainstream though, the labels likely pushed them into more mainstream, radio-friendly music.

I much prefer their stuff from Curb (1996), The State (199, Silver Side Up (2001) and The Long Road (2003). From All the Right Reasons (2005) to now, they have not been as good and original as the early stuff. Some good things here and there though. I discovered them based on How You Remind Me from Silver Side Up in 2001 and then went looking for their early stuff and really liked it. But they were pushed into the mainstream so much that people started to hate them. I still like what I like, no matter what the consensus hates/likes.

This is a pet peeve of mine. I argue that listening to radio exposed you to more new stuff (that you may or may not like) than the current formats.

On the other hand, you also have requests for the new hot current thing which meant depending on the station you heard the equivalent of Stairway 17 times a day- especially when at work.

I point out the siriusxm stations- which used to be a good way to listen to music from the 40s or 50s (doowop not withstanding.) Once you listened for a while though, you realized it was a lot of the same stuff when ostensibly they each had an entire decade's worth of music to play.

Right. Album Oriented 70s independent stations played all of side 1 of 2112, they'd play really long, unusual songs. You'd get obscure bands (now) and not only the hit tracks. 428 This is a pet peeve of mine. I argue that listening to radio exposed you to more new stuff (that you may or may not like) than the current formats.

On the other hand, you also have requests for the new hot current thing which meant depending on the station you heard the equivalent of Stairway 17 times a day- especially when at work.
Posted by: Aetius451AD Work Laptop

That's called 'heavy rotation format,' and there's never anything new until they fire the head of music.

New stuff on the radio, don't laugh, is found on college radio or NPR stations that play music.

All moot in that it's ten times easier to flick around Youtube for actual new 'formats,' which is why radio is getting worse not better.

>>Rock was at it's peak and so was analog recording.

I would argue that the most expansive and creative period of music was from around 77 to 92.

There were so many genre's of music and music scenes being born in that period that it makes one's head spin to try to name them all.

After 92 is when Pro-Tools, quantization and leading up to the ultimate dagger to the music industry, in my opinion, computer voice singing, aka, AutoTune came to prominence.

434 And the kicker is that rock music is predominately featured in current movies and television programs with virtually none of the new crap that's being pumped out featured at all.

Someone mentioned to me that movies in particular almost never use music written after the 90s...and once you notice that you certainly notice it. You can take that as music since then sucks, but I think it is because that's when the notion of music really being popular died - and movies want to hook you with music you have some kind of connection to already

The top song of 1990 was "Hold On" by Wilson Phillips. I suspect everyone old enough knows the song whether you like it or not. The top song of 2020 was "Blinding Lights" by...The Weekend? Never heard of him or it.

453 Largely because of my brother Joel, I have learned to love music from pretty much all time periods. I love some of that old doo wop stuff from the 50s, swing band stuff from the 40s, jazz from the 30s, bluegrass, gospel, I mean... there's so much good music out there. Nearly every single genre has wonderful music, I mean Disco Inferno is a great song even though 99.9999% of Disco is absolute aural vomit.

I even like some very small fractions of modern pop (the band Pogo for example has neat stuff). I just cannot pick any sort of decade I love the most. Some had a huge percentage of better music (and worse like the 70s), but there's great stuff all through time.

512 The FBI finds persons of interest when their own public image is in the toilet. Still a good thing if this person is the one and the families of the murdered can find resolution and justice.

520 So, We have Washington State to thank now for 2 grisly murders of our fellow Idahoans. The first was the husband and wife owners of our Hartland Hotel in New Meadows, Idaho, by a felon/ mental patient released by a Washington (Tacoma area) judge for an assault arrest. He was sentenced to mental treatment, but there was no vacancies, so the judge let him go. He shot our citizen couple after he was caught rummaging through other guests rooms.

We will see what circumstances led to this psycho Phd student's muder spree.
