Lauren Boebert has officially won her recount.

The New York Times declared John Fetterman one of the 93 most stylish people of 2022 because it's a Record of Official Regime Propaganda and everything it says is a lie.

SEC head Gary Gensler hid meetings with Hillary Clinton and George Soros from his public records, and only a FOIA demand forced him to admit the meetings.

Disney is actually submitting Thor: Love and Thunder for Oscar consideration.

Thor: Love And Thunder has been submitted for Best Picture to Best Director (Waititi), Best Actor (Chris Hemsworth), Best Actress (Natalie Portman), and Best Adapted Screenplay. Disney is also pushing the film with Best Visual Effects. Turns out netizens have decided to bash the decision. A Twitter user wrote, "Thor Love and Thunder submission for oscars?? For Best picture, Best VFX and Best director?? Disney, tards or whoever's decision this is, please stop doing drugs. Maybe that film should get the oscars for the "Worst film ever made""

Another wrote, "Pretty comfortable calling thor love and thunder the worst film of the year, amazed disney has the balls to even say it in the same sentence as the word "oscar", let alone "best picture" or especially "best director""

The Washington Post has lost 500,000 subscribers since they participated in the plot to rig an election for Joe Biden, and they're on track to lose money this year.

The Washington Post has lost 500,000 subscribers in the nearly two years that former President Donald Trump has left office, according to a report.

The newspaper's subscription base dropped from 3 million to around 2.5 million since January 2021, or about a 20% decline in subscribers, according to a Thursday report from The Wall Street Journal.

It comes after The New York Times first reported in August that The Post is on track to lose money this year. The Times initially reported that The Post had fallen under 3 million subscribers and that its digital advertising revenue fell about $70 million -- or roughly 15% -- since the first half of 2021.

Zero Hedge: The Glorious Angel of Beauty and Desire, Carolyn Ellison, hired a DC insider law firm (which includes Disaster Artist Jamie Gorelick) and is negotiating with prosecutors to testify against former polycule paramour Sam Bankman-Fried.

A new TIPP poll finds that 71% of Americans say that if we'd had a legitimate, non-corrupt media that reported the Hunter Biden laptop story accurately, then Trump would have won a second term.

As Trump supporters -- and no doubt Trump, himself -- will likely use the latest survey as "proof" that the 2020 election was indeed "rigged" and "stolen," as my colleague Nick Arama reported in late August, the percentage of Americans who believed the election was altered stood at 79 percent, according to the New Jersey-based Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics.

Among the findings of the new Tipp Insights poll, half of the respondents said they would've voted differently if they knew the laptop story was legit. Additionally, more than two-thirds of respondents said the FBI and the intelligence community deliberately misled the public by urging Facebook and Twitter to suppress Hunter Biden stories, which the FBI at the time arrogantly deemed foreign "disinformation." (Adam Schiff was unavailable for comment.)

The poll sampled 1,351 Americans from December 7-9 with a 4.5 percent margin of error. Among those who've followed the story, nearly two-thirds believe the details about Hunter Biden's sordid lifestyle of drugs, prostitutes, and overseas business dealings -- principally with Communist China -- are authentic. That includes 81 percent of Republican voters and 48 percent of Democrat voters.

That vindication might be as much consolation as Trump will get, as a new USAToday/Suffolk poll finds the GOP shifting its preference to DeSantis. And head-to-head matchups against Joe Biden show Trump losing, but DeSantis winning.

By 2-1, GOP and GOP-leaning voters now say they want Trump's policies but a different standard-bearer to carry them. While 31% want the former president to run, 61% prefer some other Republican nominee who would continue the policies Trump has pursued.

They have a name in mind: Two-thirds of Republicans and those inclined to vote Republican want Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to run for president. By double digits, 56% to 33%, they prefer DeSantis over Trump.

"Republicans and conservative independents increasingly want Trumpism without Trump," said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center.

...

In July, 60% of Republicans wanted Trump to run again. In October, that number had dipped to 56%. Now it has fallen to 47%, an almost-even split with the 45% who don't want him to run for a third time.

The polls taken in July and December were of registered voters. The poll in October was of likely midterm voters.

Trump is viewed less favorably by his partisans as well. The percentage of Republicans who see him favorably has dropped from 75% in October to 64% in December. His unfavorable rating has risen to 23% from 18%.

I know, I know: the polls are rigged. But all this "rigged" stuff, from polls to senate election returns, is cross-validating and trying to tell us something.

The sub-sample for Republicans is only 374, with a margin of error of 5.1%. So that's not a great sub-sample size.

But the sample for head-to-head questions were of 1,000 people, with a margin of error of 3.1%.

Among all voters, Trump has fallen further behind President Joe Biden in a hypothetical head-to-head rematch. Now, Biden would win a general election matchup by 47% to 40%. (Because of the effects of rounding, Biden's margin is a bit wider than that indicates, at 7.8 points.) In October, Biden also led but by a narrower margin, 46%-42%.

...

While Biden now leads Trump, he trails DeSantis in a head-to-head race, with DeSantis at 47% and Biden at 43%.

Update: Trump is pushing this Morning Consult poll which shows him ahead of DeSantis in support among Republicans, 49% to 31%. That's still a big jump up for DeSantis. That (leftwing) poll also shows DeSantis doing slightly better than Trump against Biden. Biden beats Trump 43-41, while DeSantis ties it at 42-42.

Below, McConnell finds blame for our loss in the midterms everywhere except in his own repulsive cynicism.

It's rare.

But it's what I would do, in their shoes.

Take a hulking mutant, dressed like a shiv wielding, stray cat-roasting switchyard indigent, and tell people he's the model of a witty, urbane fashion plate. "Why, he's the next Frank Sinatra, he is. Get down to Wallyworld and pick up a hoody and some gossamer-thin denim, and show the world what an up-and-comer YOU are."

Maybe the cut-up who thought of this prank could put a little top-hat on his neck Kuato next.

31 It's interesting how the people championing Desantis online are acting like Kari Lake actually lost and her lawsuit is bad because one of her 6 or 7 complaints is weak. But they're fighters, just like Desantis is!

This is the issue with Desantis, at some point he's going to have to actually bitchslap some NRO and Max Nordau/Will Chamberlain online grifters who keep beating their meat over 2-year out primary polls, because they're getting way too pompous on hoping MAGA stays dead so they can wear the skin. And every day Desantis doesn't tell them to fuck off, and just tries to be the "optimistic attempt at insider influence" is another day I think he's going to go full GOPe. Maybe not Romney levels, but definitely a Brian Kemp or Doug Ducey.

And the funny thing is, like Colorado Alex wrote above, I owe the GOP nothing. I put up with McCain and Romney, no more. It's my candidate now or I sit out and watch the GOP burn even with their anointed one because you never fought back on anything I cared for. And I win either way. Fuck you, war.

DeSantis locked down Florida in April 2020, and opened it up again right around the same time which Trump wanted the rest of the country reopened.

DeSantis supported vaccinations, but opposed mandatory vaccinations, just like Trump.

The only difference between the two really is that DeSantis has more power at the state level than Trump did as President. That goes away if DeSantis were to be elected POTUS (which, he won't).

204 Time enough to makeup our minds on 2024 GOP nominee, if any. Polls two years out are worth a wet fart because events for at least the next 10 months next year will drive the future in Oct to Dec 2023.

Will Trump get indicted? Will DeSantis cave to Disney?, Will there be another war somewhere in the world, Will Ukraine get worse? What about inflation? Unemployment? Interest rates?

Will Biden fall down the steps and have a cerebral blowout? Will Kamala be the big cheese?

We will simply have to wait and see. But it is pretty clear that there is a chunk of voters that might very well sit out if Trump is not on the ballot. Not sure if you can say that about DeSantis or not yet. Trump is a known quantity for better or worse, DeSantis is not and neither may end up running anyway or being blown out in the first primary.

234 Kari Lake is not in consideration for the 2024 ticket, might as well get that out of your heads right now.

If she loses her lawsuit then she won nothing and is a political novice, there is no upside to putting her on the ticket. She will likely spend the next two years being an advocate for election reform.

If she wins her lawsuit, her feet are going to be nailed to the floor in Arizona cleaning up the election mess and dealing with the border. Leaving that in 2 years is a non starter.

I guess she could also win her lawsuit, get a new election, and the Dems cheat even harder and Hobbs wins. That would put Lake on par with Palin.

There's one side in the GOP that's pushing this, and even happy for it, and it's not Trump's side. That should be a red flag.

It would be nice, just for once, to have Trump be able to focus completely in front of him as opposed to trying to be stabbed in the back.

Again, I go back to this, where are the tough guys on the internet pointing out how Arizona was stolen again? Or how Atlanta just always seems to have ballots sitting in wait to be opened up when rural GA dumps more red votes? Are you hypnotized by Mark Brnovich's strongly worded letter and his nunchuks, or are you like Ryan Girdusky, more determined to try and write Lake off as MAGA Stacy Abrams because we should just accept a third of ballot machines going down in GOP heavy areas?

262 The polls aren't directionally correct. They are facially preposterous and absurd. Trump got over 80million votes. At least that. They bear no relation to reality.

DeSantis support is GOPe and the donor class. Bill Barr is a contributor and I think editor of this Twitter release website. Musk is a DoD contractor. DeSantis has knowingly taken and kept massive amounts of GOPe money.

Now it is theoretically possible the GOPe has decided to align with their voters on core issues. And DeSantis is the way they can do so and screw Trump. It is also theoretically possible DeSantis is not owned by GOPe and intends to act contrary their past policy preferences despite taking their money and support.

I don't buy it for a second.

DeSantis over Trump because of electability is preposterous and almost (but not quite!) always disingenuous.

He was already a largely worthless and unaccomplished congressmen for six years before he bailed and narrowly won the governorship of Florida where he has excelled with a uniformly supportive legislature which he most certainly will not have, regardless of who controls congress and the senate.

It's easy to tell how bogus that USA Today poll is:

(1) Compare Trump's vote share in each of his 2 presidential elections, which never dipped below 46%, with the 40% reported here in a H2H with Biden.

(2) Consider, contra the poll's 7-point lead for DeSantis H2H with Biden, that no GOP presidential candidate has won the popular vote by 7 points since 1988.

Politico/Morning Consult is right, USA Today is bogus.

The USA Today poll is an opinion-manufacturing poll that deliberately over(exclusively?)-samples college educated NT "Republicans" to get the result they want.

312 284 Great to know Trump's hands are clean when taking shady money through the GOPe and PACs.
The absolute state of normies turning Trump into Qanon type savior is weird asf.
Hell, projecting that on any man or woman is pure open boofoo in a public park.

It's the exact opposite of Malevolence to warn others against trusting any man or woman as saviors seeking Salvation through them here on earth and heaven, you Anti-Christ. I see you.

313 That vindication might be as much consolation as Trump will get, as a new USAToday/Suffolk poll finds the GOP shifting its preference to DeSantis.

Like Ace always says, they'll tell you who they are afraid of.

The ignorance, arrogance and the "sheer fucking hubris" of that guy and his crew is amazing. Instead of paying millions for "naming rights" for arenas in Miami they should have been greasing the palms of every politician and policeman on the island.

317 In Georgia it's Demographics. The subversive civnats want to avoid this.

1990 Georgia was 70% White
2016 Georgia 54.6% White
2022- estimate 51% White
2022 runoff 70% voted for Walker.
We lost with 70% of the Heritage American vote.
It is 100% about demographics... and Dominion controls Georgia (Kemp sold us out).(Admin acces is real).
Posted by: It's over at December 13, 2022 06:20 PM (YlPX

if it were demographics, the Dems would win without harvesting cheating bullshit runoffs and weird election rules. Those are made to maximize the impact of cheating, not voters.

318 Ronna Romney McD said lost due to ticket splitting.

That's like say my car stopped because I ran out of gas.

Ummm. It's your job to make sure people don't ticket split. Or run out of gas.

You're responsible for getting people elected. They weren't. So you failed. Nobody pulled a Todd Akin this year. Or said she was a witch.

Posted by: Steve_in_SoCal at December 13, 2022 07:39 PM (NW9xb)

319 @317

>>if it were demographics,

It's demographics and the cheating from both parties.

With a black, Hispanic and Asian population topping 47 pct of the population, it's slightly unbelievable that the GOP wins any statewide race.

Kemp is demonstrably, not that good a governor and yet he had no problem winning at all.

Sure he was up against Stacey Abrams and is a horrible candidate, but horrible candidates do not seem to be a problem for democrat ballots.

325 Don't know if it's been mentioned already, but that USAToday subsample poll contains 374 “Republicans and independents who lean to the Republican Party" and asked them who they would vote for in the GOP primary.

Important Question: Can Independent voters vote in all GOP primaries? So why include the Independents in the sample at all?

Posted by: Asshole and Statistician Extraordinare, Allahpundit's Younger Than He is Step Father at December 13, 2022 08:29 PM (bL3hP)

326 The Republican Party is dying before our eyes and that's actually a good thing. Lost in all the over analysis of the 2022 red puddle election, should be this dirty secret that isn't so secret, should the Republicans be honest enough to address it.

The base is abandoning the G.O.P. and not in small numbers.

If you don't believe that claim, then ask yourself how many disenchated, disenfranchised, disillousioned and despondent voters - still very angry over 2020, as they should be - stayed home, voted third party or wrote-in candidates where there was no MAGA candidate running.
You might be surprised in you ask around.

I personally went into my precinct voting booth and wrote in Captain Crunch, Joker, Thanos, Thor and Black Manta. I figured what did I have to lose that hasn't already been lost due to Democrat malfeasance and Republican capitulation.

And the best part? I am one of millions who did so. I hope the Republican Party dies and at the rate they are going to totally alienate and piss on their voters, that's less effort required of me to end them.

If we can't have our president, then the backstabbing G.O.P. will have nothing. To hell with them!

and that says nothing about how almost every site on the right was pushing this narrative sfter the midterms . It felt almost astroturfed , you could tell the analysis didn't happen naturally it was too fast and too quick and too similar was waiting to be put out we've seen this before we know it smells like the talking points were already written before the results were in, same way the papers have the article already written before they come to interview you.

it didn't it didn't feel natural so I wonder how much of this is true and how much of this is manufactured

331 doesn't matter anyway, we're done.

we don't have the courage to stand by the leaders who risk their lives and their freedom to support us. there's a special curse for that that we get to enjoy yay

we won't fight, and our strategy is to let the left pick the time and place for the shootout that we're going to solo against 22 Stassi next to our daughter's bedroom. great plan and we can't even discuss it because Hoyt burning innocents at the stake for witchcraft

we're surrounded by betrayal, by treacherous never trumpers. Glenn Reynolds himself is providing aid and comfort to one. we moved goalposts from not hanging traitors to not banishing them either they're just going to hang out and continue to infect us with their cancerous treachery

we've telegraphed that we will never shoot first. If you're only willing to attack when provoked your enemy can ensure that you never attack at all. they're going to come at us sideways through social credit

these guys are controll freaks they think about it 24/7 we want to be left alone. they are willing to kill for their cause, we are not

but I called dibbs on Treacher. He's mine. Driscoll too if he gets in the way

Bump Stocks? that's why they're turning their back on Trump? you know we've been blessed with some very stupid enemies as far as gun control goes is there a reason why they couldn't put them away like 10 years ago? what were they doing were they taking them out to eat or something

by paraphrasing a supreme Court Justice who said that the Constitution is not a suicide pact you're not familiar with that at all?

but you don't want to have a scrap in the comments for the next 2 years right?

uh huh

your like the daughter's hippie boyfriend at Thanksgiving dinner he's been warned three times not to talk about the extermination of native Americans and what does he do he keeps trying to find ways to sideways in the extermination of native Americans

and now he's in the freaking ER with a sucking chest wound
