Claim/Rumor: Woke Disney Orders Marvel To Re-Evaluate Its Production of Shit Sandwiches, Demands More Quality In Endless Production of Undifferentiated Shit Sandwiches Over Sheer Quantity of Shit Sandwiches

I would file this more under "a good guess" than a "rumor."

There's a legitimate SEC filing advising that Disney's going to do some restructuring under Iger. It's that vague.

The rumor takes off from that and proposes slightly less vague specifics, which is where the "Good Guess" comes in: It's what Disney should do.

They should stop making crap movies, is what they should do.

Will they?

Doubt it!

New Rumor Claims Marvel Studios Is "Re-Evaluating Its Release Lineup For Phases 5 & 6" Over Concerns About Poor Quality

By John F. Trent

A new rumor claims that The Walt Disney Company and Marvel Studios are looking at changing their release lineup for their upcoming Phase 5 and Phase 6 films and television shows over internal concerns about the poor quality of shows and movies in Phase 4.

This rumor comes on the heels of The Walt Disney Company announcing that Bob Iger returned to the company as CEO and replaced Bob Chapek. Along with the announcement of Iger's return, The Walt Disney Company revealed in a SEC filing that they would be making significant changes to the company's structure and specifically how it approaches distributing its content.

The SEC document states, "As contemplated by the leadership change announcement, we anticipate that within the coming months Mr. Iger will initiate organizational and operating changes within the Company to address the Board's goals. While the plans are in early stages, changes in our structure and operations, including within DMED (and including possibly our distribution approach and the businesses/distribution platforms selected for the initial distribution of content), can be expected."

"The restructuring and change in business strategy, once determined, could result in impairment charges," it adds.

DMED is the division that oversees Disney's parks and movies.

...

Following this confirmation that The Walt Disney Company will be making significant changes to the way it does business and specifically the way it distributes its content, a rumor from The Cosmic Circus claims "Marvel Studios is currently re-evaluating its release lineup for Phases 5 & 6."

The site adds, "As Phase 4 comes to a close, we've been informed of internal negative feedback about how Phase 4 was handled regarding product distribution and quality."

In order to correct the poor performance and quality of the Phase 4 films and television series, Marvel Studios will be implementing "a quality-over-quantity approach to these phases."

One of the changes that the site claims Marvel Studios will implement is a change in the release schedule as well as changes in format of various projects.

As you probably know, Bob Iger has doubled down on woke content. He has claimed Disney wouldn't be embroiled in political fights, but only because, when properly understood -- when understood the way a coastal lifestyle progressive understands it -- Disney's nonstop groomer programming isn't "political" at all.

It's just "making the world a better place."

And you thick-skulled low-browed God-Bothering deplorable scumbags had better just accept that.

As seen in video obtained by independent journalist Christopher F. Rufo, the CEO would offer his first thoughts on the subject after being asked whether or not Disney will "stay out of making political statements" under his tenure.

"I think there's a misperception here about wat politics is," answered Iger. "I think that some of the subjects that have proven to be 'controversial' as it relates to Disney have been branded political, and I don't necessarily believe they are."

"I don't think that when you are telling stories and attempting to be a good citizen of the world, that that's political," he affirmed. "It's just not how I view it."

The Groomer material isn't "political." He'll stay out of politics because none of Disney's never-ending slate of Gay Teenager Groomer Cartoons ever were political in the first place.

"Do I like the company being embroiled in controversy?" he then asked rhetorically of the crowd. "Of course not, it can be distracting, and it can have a negative impact on the company."

"And to the extent that i can work to quiet things down, I'm going to do that," added Iger. "But I think it's important to put in perspective what some of these subjects are and not just simply brand them as political."

The onus is on you to stop lying and calling these Groomer Projects "political."

Later, when asked for his "stance on the 'Don't Say Gay' situation", the CEO would explain, "Well, first of all, our LGBTQ employees are very important to us and we care deeply about them."

"That is a given," he declared. "Secondly, this company has been telling stories for a hundred years, and those stories have had a meaningful, positive impact on the world. And one of the reasons that they've had a meaningful, positive impact is one of our core values is inclusion, acceptance, and tolerance. And we can't lose that. We just can't lose that."

"I think about Black Panther and the impact that had on the world, or a film like Coco," Iger continued. "I could go on and on. How we actually change the world for the good must continue."

"When you tell stories, there's a delicate balance," he said. "You're talking to an audience, but it's also important to listen. It's important to have respect for the people that you're serving and not have disdain for them."

So there's the big sop to his traditionalist customers: He will keep making groomer content, and dismiss your objections that Disney is stepping in as a virtual parent to teach your children about homosexuality before you wish to teach them about it, but he won't have "disdain" for you as he dismisses your desires.

Isn't that swell?

To this end, he then admitted, "that said, we're not going to make everyone happy all the time, and we're not going to try to.

"We're certainly not going to lessen our core values in order to make everyone happy all the time," he then assured his employees. "So, it's complicated, and there's a balance."

Now, Iger gets to the real heart of it: When people ask him, how do you get to decide what propaganda to feed to our children?, he responds: Because I'm a storyteller.

Actually he's a soulless executive who just buys IPs and companies and then destroys them, but apparently he's decided he's "a storyteller" now.

"At one point," the CEO recalled. "I said, 'We do what we believe is right', and then someone criticized me, 'Who are you to say what's right?'"

"When you're in a job like mine, or you are responsible for storytelling, you get paid to have a sense for what is right," concluded Chapek. "Not everybody will agree with you, that's just not the way the world is these days, but that doesn't mean you should stop trying to do the right thing."

One amusing thing from a week or so ago: After attacking everyone who pointed out that the MCU was becoming the M-She-U, leftwing movie reviewers and bloggers are now admitting it is in fact now the M-She-U, and they're even admitting... it's not very good, and it's pretty obnoxious to just replace every male character with a female doppleganger.

And how are the ratings for the woke lesbian teen romance reboot of Willow? In the toilet, of course, as far as audience rating -- 38%.

And also the worst ratings as far as viewership for any show on Disney Plus, according to the partial ratings available from Samba. Disney won't release its ratings, but Samba TV carries Disney, and Samba TV releases its ratings.

According to Samba TV, only 481k households watched Willow in its first five days of release -- and that is with TWO episodes released.

Since Samba TV has been releasing numbers, Willow marks the lowest ratings for a show on Disney Plus, much lower than Marvel's Ms. Marvel series which saw only 775k households tune in during the first five days and lower than She-Hulk's 1.5 million households in the first four days.

And here's one more amusing thing: Bernard Hill, who played King Theoden in the real Lord of the Rings, says he's not going to watch Amazon's fake Lord of the Rings cash-in, because it's obviously a worthless corporate cash-in.

Hill spoke with British outlet Metro where he made it abundantly clear he had no interested in watching Prime Video's The Rings of Power. He told the outlet, "No, not interested."

Hill then elaborated as to why, "It's a money-making venture and I'm not interested in watching that or being in it. Good luck to them and all that stuff but it's not like the real thing."

Hill was then asked if Tolkien's work would have been better left to Jackson's original trilogy. He responded, "Completely, yes."

He went on, "I think they were pushing it when they made The Hobbit. The Hobbit's a tiny book."

Viggo Mortensen was asked the same question and also had little interest in the Amazon/Asylum brand Lord of the Rings knockoff.

Oh, by the way: Jennifer Lawrence says, You're welcome.

Unless that was edited in, then even MSNBC sees that as a self-aggrandizing b***shit.

DMED also relies very heavily on their "linear networks" for revenue. Those are basically underwritten by multi year contracts with networks who provide content distribution. Here's a pro-tip for Iger:
If it involves the government or wider business establishment and if your fans or detractors include the perceived political factors into the approval or disapproval of your product, it's political regardless of your definition.

So go right ahead and stick with this argument that you're non-political. It won't make a lick of difference to how you're perceived by the people who buy - or do not buy - your products.

But if you put him up against one of Superman's opponents, there's an issue. So what to the writers do when there's an ensemble cast of heroes with wildly-varying power levels?

I doubt they have a writer on staff who is over 40. And maybe one in ten can diagram a sentence. It's for damn sure they can't write a paragraph much less tell a story. And forget about any story that is rational, uplifting, moral, or pro American.

No, they've had long-term success because they were, by and large, good. Many of those stories were classics when Disney made their versions.

You have a quality problem, Bob, not an inclusiveness and tolerance problem. Your quality sucks. The writing is shit. The characters are shit. The plotlines are shit. The products are all just vehicles to push your asinine, narrow-minded, hateful, vindictive messaging and everything else is secondary.

Your product is lousy. You know who's going to look back on contemporary Disney with affection or even use words like "golden age?" Nobody. Not even the miserable idiots who approve of the message you're pushing. Even if you agree with all that crap, nobody looks back on mediocrity fondly - and "mediocre" is the most positive possible description.

They were ill-prepared for the roles they had to shoulder, they were vulnerable, they were morally ambiguous, they lost sometimes, they had various influence (some of them - GASP - were men), etc. They were, in short, characters rather than cardboard cut-outs.

The modern Strong Female Character is none of those things. She can't be. The modern grrrrl power is different. She must be *flawless* in every respect. If she's evil, it's because she's misunderstood. She's strong, a good fighter, an excellent shot, extremely smart, universally righteous and advances despite mediocre men trying to keep her down.

150 Disney should do movies which reflect the folks they want as customers.

1) "Potatoe Joe": A brain dead democrat Senator, long on grifting his way thru life, wakes up one day as President and proceeds to fuck up the entire country along with the world. A laugh riot.
2) "Crack Daddy" : An urban ute, with dreams of being a doctor or rap star, rises to control the underworld in the hood. Like a modern day "Godfather".
3) "Groomer's Paradise" : A shemale undergrad decides to become a Dean at a school for underprivileged utes in the inner city and proceeds to show them the glories of the gay lifestyle as well as glory holes. like "Dead Poet's Society" but not.

I think a lot of the problem is that they are messing with the heroic myths we grew up with... and I for one, don't like it.

It's like taking the story of the Iliad, and instead of starting 'this is the story of the rage of Achilles'... starting it with 'Yeah, since Greeks wore skirts to fight in, Achilles was actually a chick'.

What a goofball!

Iger, son, let me tell you. You are in a service industry. The service you provide is entertainment.

Notice that word "serve" in service. That means you need to serve somebody. That is you need to serve your customers' wants or needs.

So, who are you serving? The 97% or so of the public who want good, moral, fun, harmless entertainment suitable for kids like Disney used to make? Example: See Aladdin

Or are you serving the roughly 3% of the adult population who is teh ghey/trannies/whatever?

Are you serving the people who actually buy and consume your products, including traditional families, Christians, etc? Or do you think adult radical single feminists, are the audience you will serve?

Which would be zero. It was a movie. It did not impact the world any more than Superman or Spider-Man.

I like Scarlett but not as a superhero.

Joss Whedon made her an interesting and effective character in Avengers 1 but she wasn't Black Widow from the comics. Black Widow from the comics was really interesting (and a love interest for Daredevil a while) but in no way was like this character. She was a spy, yes, but mostly she was used as a low end street level thug beater, like Daredevil, not an Avenger.

Yes, technically she was on the team, because nearly everyone in the Marvel Universe has been an Avenger at one point or another but that was more about sales than logic.

Grrl Power is equally hostile to women and girls as to men. It wants to see them as hostile and aggrieved over mostly imaginary slights, and to act like they think a man would in those situations. But of course, men showing emotion and lashing out violently at random isn't what manly men do at all, so they are making women into not just men, but psychopathic and immature men.

208 Marvel Comics did something incomprehensible in entertainment: it deliberately and systematically either killed or utterly ruined its most popular, tentpole figures: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Hulk. EVERY SINGLE one of the Avengers, some of the most beloved characters in cinema history, is either dead or been destroyed.

They took rampaging "puny god" Hulk into a weenie loser.
They made badass Thor into the butt of every joke in his own movies.
They literally killed the rest. Killed their golden goose, on purpose.

Marvel Studios/Disney never did.

Fantastic Four, X-Men, Daredevil and a couple of others were owned by Fox, and they made those movies. The FF movies made by Fox were decidedly mediocre.

This is why it was B-list characters like Iron Man and Captain America formed the backbone of the MCU - those are the characters Marvel still owned the rights to. They built the franchise on writing quality, production value and some seriously great casting choices like Robert Downey, Jr. Those B-listers became A-listers as a result.

One of the reasons Disney bought Fox was to get those Marvel properties and reboot them in the MCU. It would not surprise me if Phase 5 is largely committed to destroying X-Men or Fantastic Four.

I always said about Russia and China, etc. that what happens is the revolutionaries make these myths about their enemies, what was done wrong to them, how their people are better, how their culture was repressed and needs to counter attack the evil foreigners, etc.

What happens is that the first generation understands that it is propaganda, but with each generation it becomes more and more real to them. They no longer question the truth of shit that started out as pure fantasy. Soon the teachers are true believers, and the parents and grandparents.

Iger is so deep Leftist bullshit that he really believes that Western culture is biased, and all our mythology is corrupt and wrong. It is his job to fix us.

273 Super Hero movies now serve the same purpose as Death Wish and Dirty Harry in the 70s. Superheroes are people doing the stuff we wish someone would do or we dream about doing about the world around us. They deal justice and do good and aid people.

Except... Marvel decided they should not so much be heroes or find justice or fight evil as just be obnoxious voices of social justice an personifications of DEI, which utterly ruins their general appeal. Its like making Dirty Harry a judge where he gives soft sentences out and punishes cops like he used to be.

I have a socio /psychological theory as too why superhero movies are popular.
Posted by: Anonosaurus Wrecks aka Hangdog Barkston at December 09, 2022 03:23 PM (FVME7)

It really is a lot simpler. Most literature these days is modern 'nuanced' stuff. No heroes, anti-heros, questionable motives, everybody's bad.

Comics at least had an untapped source of undoubted heroes, stories with traditional moral messages, and plots that were good beating evil. And audiences responded.

Eventually the dark forces moved in to spoil it - in the Gender swapped Ms Marvel show they couldn't even have their character BE perfect while claiming she was - she had helped the bad guys, she lashed out at civilians without cause, one of her main fights started with her attacking what appeared to be an old lady looking like an old lady leaving a bad taste even when it turns into some alien...The admiral in Star Wars belittles her crew and subordinates...

That is how it is done, folks.

I have been casually job hunting and have an interview scheduled next week. Did more digging on the company after speaking with HR only to find out it is a SEIU union shop. Seriously considering bowing out. I'm gainfully employed right where I am and don't need union hassles.

For those here who have school (or college) aged children - now would be a good time to review what they should do if something happens. First clue - don't listen to the teacher and huddle in masses waiting for the turkey shoot.

Our PD is very aggressive. We have a 3 city shared SWAT unit that is very large and very very aggressive. The first on scene Unis made initial entry and SWAT followed with bangs. So far so good. Any bad guys are unlikely to be captured if history is any measure.

When BLM came to town 2 years ago and tried to storm the mall they got their collective ass KICKED.

Praying for a hoax.

304 I was on a long flight recently and decided to watch some video to kill the time.

The onboard selection wasn't fairly poor and front loaded with a lot of "woke".

But, I noticed that they did have Disney's "Aladdin" and I remembered liking it when I watched it with the kiddos way back when. So, that's what I watched.

What a great movie that is! Full of fun and adventure and humor and good songs and thrills. Really, just superb. And nothing that could be described as questionable or perverted or age-inappropriate.

If Disney were still making movies/cartoons like "Aladdin", they'd be minting money and be trusted and beloved. Bu-u-u-ut-

Nope. They sold their souls to the Woke Devil and it will kill their business.

Honestly, the stockholders should bring suit and get rid of the entire board.

Sadly hilarious, watching these 'geniuses" shoot themselves in the head.
