Multiculturalism Will Be The Death Of Every Great Society

multiculti crap.png

Andrew Breitbart's famous statement that "politics is downstream from culture" is absolutely correct, and we are seeing the malign effects of ceding the cultural battle to the Left. Their paradigm was based primarily on a rejection of traditional Western and American culture, which respected marriage, family, organized religion, the inherent differences between Man and Woman, and a host of social guidelines that had been crafted over two millennia.

They have replaced the greatest culture in human history with a melange of hedonistic practices that reject respect for the larger culture and focus on the desires and wants of the individual while at the same time making that individual fungible. In their view we are no longer the most important unit in society...we are merely cogs in their great post-modern engine.

But it gets worse! Side by side with the destruction of traditional Western culture was their perverse embracing of the cultures of the third world. Every culture was equal! Every culture is welcome in America, as long as it wasn't based on the Judeo-Christian social structures that created the greatest society in human history. And they have an anodyne sounding word for it: "multiculturalism."

But a great country has a shared culture which provides it with the structure with which to pursue a common goal. Independence from Great Britain, taming the wilderness, building an industrial juggernaut, saving the world from tyranny, and on and on. Could any of those things been accomplished with a culture built from a Chinese menu of two from column A, two from column B, one from column C...?

But that is what we are heading toward. Which cultural norms should we embrace? China: The murder of female infants? Iraq: Throwing gays from the tops of buildings? Afghanistan: Young boys as sexual playthings? Mexico: Government corruption as the norm? Holland: Euthanasia? Iran: Genocide of the Jews and the destruction of Israel?

And the biggest one...The casual acceptance of government as the arbiter of all and the provider for all?

Because that is what "multiculturalism" would seem to demand.

We cannot have a functioning society if there are no shared goals based on a unified culture. That does not mean that our citizens must reject their origins. Far from it...until a few generations ago it was entirely acceptable to consider oneself an American, but with strong emotional and cultural ties to the homeland, be it Germany or Ireland or Italy or Mexico or The Philippines or Norway, etc.

But the core was American, with enough common cultural norms and ethics that we could look around and say, "Yes, we are America!"

Now of course one is gay or Latinx or a "person of color" or Ghanaian or gender-nonconforming lesbian or Filipino first, and then a pause, and then perhaps "american" with a small "A."

But many (hopefully most) Americans reject that, which is one reason why Donald Trump's aggressive populism resonated with so much of the country. Contrary to the media's protestations, his Americanism is fabulously inclusive, and the voting trends among minorities back that up.

And America seems to be rejecting the most overt attempts to force this sort of mushy-thinking nonsense on us (Disney...I'm looking at you), and there are ways to push back that are, at least in the short-term, bearing fruit. Progressive School boards across America have been rejected by parents who have had enough of pretty much everything the Left has shoved down our children's throats for years. State legislatures are creeping away from the Left's grasp, and there is a small but growing alternative to the captive media.

But is it enough?

We conservatives think that we can win by simply doing the right thing in our private life: love our spouse, raise good kids, act responsibly, etc etc…. And we did that as a group. But our enemies succeeded in a “sneak” attack which played out over decades in all our trusted institutions. We’re only now starting to fight back on their terms (post-Trump). 33 "Short history of the US I once believed: We are not European."

I don't know the short history of Europe, but Catholics fighting Protestants would seem to be a big part. Or at least Catholic dominant countries fighting Protestant dominant countries. "The Culture" became the politics.

US founders were largely Protestant, fleeing the persecution, establishing a unique style of "open society" (and then Soros stole the name and changed it into something evil).

Upstream from culture came the foreign Marxists, infiltrating, and marching through our institutions. Their "critical theory" plus lots of outside money/power ... changed our culture. That part was not organic.

The US will be an Hispano-Asian majority country in roughly 20-25 years.

So the country will, over time, adopt whatever the majority groups customs, culture and political structures dictate.

The ruling white liberal class will gradually have power taken from them and the new groups prerogatives the will begin to dominate and supplant the old order.

Will it be better? Worse?

Who knows, but we will find out soon enough.

People overlook why the Left and its Establishment GOP allies prefer illegal immigration. The legal variety requires assimilation and so forth. The illegal variety consumes the host population and sets up enclaves opposed to the overarching culture. I actually support a complete moratorium on basically all immigration. Even that will not stop the pending and planned disintegration of the United States, but it would help staunch it. So, of course, it will not happen.

49 ...while at the same time making that individual fungible.

******

Interesting to ponder a vision of the individual as so unique and special and yet at the same time indistinguishable and interchangeable. Individuals are becoming merely data points.

I've been pondering the value of data in a world that is swamped in data. Many examples exist:

1. "sports analytics" as the key to success. Every team in the major sports leagues analyzes "billions of data points", yet only one team wins the championship.
2. Thousands of individual weather stations across the nation feed instantaneous data to the NWS, with the result being constant updating of weather forecasting to be of value only for the next 10 minutes. The noise drowns out the signal, so typical forecasts call for 30-70% chance of precipitation (or not)
3. Continuous glucose monitoring with hundredss of thousands of determinations of blood sugar, paralyΩing the end user with indecision, taking a dowse of insulin one instant and eating a cookie the next, trying to keep up.

Individuals are not mere data points, and treating them as ssuch is the basis of a dystopian and tyrranical world.

Part of the problem is that we have a good practice of not meddling in the affairs of others and requiring little of others beyond leaving us alone. You can't leave someone alone so thoroughly that they can't continue to pester you.

What is that saying? "Past performance is not indicative of future results"?

I believe this is especially true when the past performance of America was due to past generations of Americans with past cultural principles and values. The Boomers are dying off, my generation (Gen-X) is the smallest generation, Millennials and Gen-Z-ers have grown up entirely under the brainwashing and control of the Left in schools, universities, media, social media, Hollywood, etc. Add in tens of millions of illegals who never have shared past generations' values and principles and it makes for the majority of the population of the country going forward having anti-American values and principles.

That is not a recipe for the endurance of the American Republic.

73 Multiculturalism, from the point of the west is all kumbaya happy times where we're all live and play under a giant apple tree. From most countries in the east it's a way to destroy those accepting them as citizens.

Arabs aren't flooding to Europe to take part in the western lifestyle, they want to force Europe to become a new Arab state and to eliminate most non-arabs.

I don't necessarily think China is that destructive, as they still want us to be their monetary slaves, so while they want to flood the west with people, those people will be there to monitor and control our industries, while we just become lazy blobs.

On May 22, 2018, David Shafer received 48.9% of the vote in the Republican primary with Duncan coming in second place with 26.6%. Since no candidate received a majority of votes, the election then went to a runoff [...] On July 24, Duncan defeated Shafer with 50.16% of the vote.

Looks like prep work for the Steal of course. Note his opponent Shafer was one of the top people fighting the Steal in GA.

Not just "conservative" representatives, but also many "conservative" bloggers and pundits.

Social conservatives have been begging the conservative movement as a whole to stop supporting the GOP establishment for at least the time I have been paying attention to politics (Sept 12, 2001). But they have always been told that social conservative issues are "too divisive" and we need to focus on the economy and judges.

Should have been the other way around. The culture should have been the focus and the economy and judges would have taken care of themselves. As everything political -- especially the economy -- is downstream of culture.

We are a country founded by men who got sick of government involvement in their lives, and the total lack of representation within it, and its refusal to change its ways when the requests remained peaceful, who took up arms and slaughtered as many of its enforcers as it took to convince that government to leave us alone.

96 Western culture as we knew it is never recovering. Nor should it, when you consider how fucking gullible and inattentive it's been. It's been on the back foot since 1917 and has shown that it is entirely inadequate to deal with ideologies like communism, and later to some extent islam.

I have a small hope that pockets of something functional might come about in North America, but the boneheaded preoccupation with "being good Christians" along with lingering effects of public school indoctrination will continue to be exploited by our enemies. Intolerance for barbarism and outright malicious degeneracy is the first and most important step and too many are worried about hurting peoples' feelings. 158 I lived for years in a group that was deliberately robbed of their culture and are now taking it back:
Traditional Catholics.

It is hard to re-build, because the people with real experience have mostly died out and those today are depending on book learning from pre-VatII.
So, some go overboard and there are disagreements about what, if anything, of current culture is allowable.
But they are making the effort and as generations grow up, seeing good results.

Do I even need to mention that they are opposed on every side by a majority of the hierarchy?

My best friend used to live there so I've visited many parts of the state. The only area that is not a complete utter shithole is NWA (Northwest Arkansas), where a lot of satellite companies orbiting Walmart managed to keep the area from turning into hillbilly inbred central like the rest of the state. It's still too humid and hot for my liking, but its close proximity to Branson and the Ozarks gives it a lot of upside. Unfortunately because its the best part of the state, the cost of living is also higher as well.

I don't think there should be a unity of purpose, because "unity of purpose" implies a direction and a director. Aella Girl apparently had a poll asking if you spun a wheel that was one quarter one color and three quarters another color, which would you choose to win, and about 1/4 chose the minority color. I am not sure what that means, but I suspect that the spirit animal of the American psyche is twelve housecats.

As an American ethos pulling us together, I think "You can tell me what to do as long as you are happy to let me burn cookies on your front yard when I am tired of you trying to tell me what to do" is admirable.

There you could get a root beer out of the big faux keg, a hot dog, and a quarter pound of cashews with your buck. Every Sears had one. And have enough left for a popsicle on the way home.

238 Greetings:

Hoping to throw a bit of sociological gas on your fire, I think that what's worth a mention is the holding of multiple passports.

Over a decade ago, I came across an article about a "Super Model" of the then female gender who got a her panties in a knot when some Euro-trash country refused to grant her a third different passport.

The hole we are in is a lot deeper than those hyphens.

I'm seeing many people think this is from the midterms. It's clearly not but it demonstrates that the AZ SoS censored people that questioned the rigged 2020 election and that led to another election steal right in front of our eyes in 2022

Sad!

241 Did you spend more than a few days. Did you go to the local diner and talk with the inbred hillbillies?

***********

Yes including a thanksgiving. Everywhere I went stunk and was incredibly dirty with grime nearly over everything, and there was a chemical stench to the air due to local plants. It was one of the worst states I have ever visited. I also attended a few local churches that were completely off the rails as well. They supported Trump but by that I mean they thought Trump was a literal prophet who was sent by God to fight pedophiles. I also ran across a lot of meth heads and Duck Commander fans as well (the duck fans were a cool bunch). Within that I did meet a few great conservatives with their heads screwed on right but the rest were just so strange.

I visited Little Rock as well and saw the Clinton Library (didn’t go inside but I spit on the grounds.) Little Rock was genuinely scary to visit in some parts and I kept my gun close on hand.

I’m sure my experience could still be a one off but it was definitely a culture shock for me.

Yet, they live there.

And some do, some don't, it varies by sect and even by rabbi. A lot of Hasids only dislike Israel as they see it as "secular", others are fine with Israel, but oppose "Zionism" insofar as secular Jews are welcome. There is no consensus.

261 As a child of immigrants, I think the problems started with the ban on corporal punishment. My parents tolerated no back talk. They also expected me to do chores around the house. And getting paid to do chores was not a concept they embraced! Now parents are reported for yelling at children. My parents did not worry about whether or not I liked them. They felt their responsibility was to raise a child that would fit into society.

265 214 -- Nebraska drives me crazy. In New Jersey, every bakery was open on Sundays. It was the biggest day of the week for them. You always stopped off at the bakery on your way home from church for breakfast. In Nebraska, the only bakeries open on Sunday are grocery store bakeries. And believe me, grocery store doughnuts and pecan rolls aren't worth the stop.

266 Thanks, CBD.
The bipolar raising of young people became serious when those up to 26 were permitted on parents' healthcare plans which - unlike COBRA healthcare coverage - gave many plenty of time to experiment, wander in the out of educational programs & take jobs of convenience. Parents were barred from knowing what the hell their kids were y doing with their $ in universities. Youth took loans. And so the Left won many youth votes & thwarted parental control in steps.
In the meantime, it studied demographics & treads regarding progressivism and conservatism, and easily ID'ed older individuals often trend conservative politically. It's NOT so concerned about Black, White, LGBTQI+, etc. but youth as a whole because of the political power it can harness. (We see topics worthy of debate - such as abortion & gender transition - being pushed solely towards youth to make decisions though those may have lifelong effects on health & safety.)

NCSL has information concerning Preregistration for Young Voters. 15 states and D.C. permit preregistration at 16 years old & four permit preregistration at 17 years old.

Our Left is always harvesting.

271 Breitbart’s aphorism resonates but it is incomplete. The question must be asked: Where does Culture come from? I assert that our past Culture was pinned by the Constitution in 1789. So today’s Culture is downstream of the Constitution. Where does the current “cancel culture” come from if not from the idea, ratified by SCOTUS, that it’s OK for a nation established on equality before the law to establish many different classes of people. And the corruption of thought and morals is a part of this process. How else do you explain that women, who are the majority sex, are classified as a protected Minority? There are hundreds of similar examples. That leads to only one conclusion: The Constitution does NOT guarantee limited government. Therefore, we need a new Constitution that actually implements a limited government.
