Daily Tech News 26 November 2022

Top Story

  • Elon Musk just decided to bring the worst people on the internet back to Twitter. (The Verge)

People who weren't banned from Twitter:

    • Chinese genocide apologists
    • Hitler-worshiping Hindu nationalists
    • Iran's terrorist leadership
    • Antifa goons actively planning assaults
    • Pedophiles
    • People illegally distributing puberty blockers to children (who were also pedophiles, strange coincidence there)
    • People running mass-reporting schemes (who were - yes - also pedophiles)

    People who were banned:

    • The New York Post for news stories inconvenient to Democrats
    • James Lindsay and the Babylon Bee for accurately identifying an adult male
    • Nick Rekieta for being the victim of a mass-reporting scheme
    • Me for suggesting a certain politician "needs to resign, or be thrown in a volcano, whatever works"

And it's only with those people being reinstated that the news media, which is all - mainstream and technology together - intensely pro-censorship, is getting itself worked up.

  • Hoping that particular politician will soon be out of office, but it's Melbourne and they're all insane down there.

Probably just a coincidence that it worked out that way - the choices make sense if you want to keep them easily distinguished for common forms of colour blindness. They're distinct except for people who are completely colour blind, which is relatively rare.

18 Labor wins the election

We’re now confident enough to call it: Premier Daniel Andrews will win a third term. -- However, it’s not yet clear exactly how many seats Labor will have in the Legislative Assembly.

36 It's hilarious that Elon is taking out all the pedos, and coincidentally they all happen to be big Antifa account. He needs to release all the info on who at Twitter was protecting these pedophiles, then maybe he can create a catapult company that we can use to launch them into a volcano.

In my journey to cut the tv cord, I went to go buy an Over the Air dvr, which needs a portal harddrive,, its been a few years since i purchased one, but holy crap 5 TBs for under $100, i think i paid like $300 for a 200 Gig once last time.

Though ive also rethought my router purchase and am back to being confused.

Stopped in a local bar yesterday and caught the 4th quarter of the Iowa/Nebraska game yesterday. A few things that stood out for me, the really bad football, how these kids all thought they were the best players in the world and the need they all felt to embrace the thug culture.
Good grief, this was Nebraska vs. Iowa in Iowa City.

I recall seeing issue #2 of "Byte" magazine, from 1975, and in it was an ad for a memory card for your S-100 bus computer: 64 kilobytes of memory for *only* $10,000! (Mind you, 10,000 1975-vintage dollars could buy a pretty nice car.) Times have indeed changed.
