These are the words of a group of unserious senators who have no interest in actually governing over the next two years. As members of the minority, Senate Republicans should have only one role, which is to sit in their seats and say the word "nay." Anyway some good news bad news.
Bad news first. The precincts with the voting machines that were down in Maricopa? They were all Hispanic areas. The McCain Cabal knew that Lake was bringing in Hispanics and they purposely disenfranchised them. This is something that should be shouted from the rooftops, minority disenfranchisement.
Good news. Apparently the California GOP has figured out how to overcome ballot harvesting and ballots mailed to every voter. They are going to win almost all of the districts that they were supposed to, except CA-13. The House is probably ending up above 220.
This is important because other states are going to need to learn how the CA GOP does it in this new voting environment.

I think it's relevant to the states that have universal mail in voting and ballot harvesting. A lot of it is going to be education as well. Heck, I've got to deprogram from thinking the best, safest way for me to vote is in-person day of. That's the worst possible way to do it. Although, at least in my last county mail in ballots were marked as to affiliation. Same with my sample ballots and anything else. Even the in-person ballots are clearly delineated. I'm not sure what would keep any of them from hitting the shredder/landfill.

The reason the Right now represents actual opposition is the product of decades of movement in this direction, starting with the Goldwater/Buckley brand of Conservatism. The US was closer to a one-party state in the 20th century than today, though we're still pretty much one today. The likes of Reagan and Buckley weren't taken seriously because they were not feared, not because they were compromised.
And the one-party rule basically starts with FDR, so it's been closer to 90 years. Only the first-generation of Conservatives saw the beginning of what they were revolting against.

There is no upside to him taking on Trump at this stage, but also no downside to keeping quiet on the whole issue. If something happens to Trump to make him no longer viable, then DeSantis can step in.
I know I've said it before, I prefer DeSantis. But I also don't think the Republicans can win in the current environment. So let Trump take the arrows. If in 10 months the environment has changed and Trump has been broken or imprisoned, then DeSantis can step up.

Saw an interview of a Japanese woman who was just a little girl when the war ended. The first time she saw an American, she was more curious than afraid. She described him as very tall, nice smile, and friendly. He gave her some candy. Soon all the other kids came out and then the adults, who were hiding. It must have been an interesting thing to witness.

Some of it is being blown out of proportion. Trump did do a "mean tweet" post(really not that mean) where he assigned credit to himself and diminished DeSantis and Youngkin a bit after the elections. Doesn't rise to the level of open political warfare though, which we'd see if they competed in the primaries.

I think that among the reasons the Nazis are more popular than the Japanese in popular WWII media is
1) The Nazi fights were in and for places that people had heard of and cared about like Paris instead of other side of the world unknowns like Tarawa and Peleliu.

I recall that. I think that one more than anything doomed the GOP establishment. It's amusing because for all the focus on Trump's media hurricane, 2016 was really just a matter of the "deep bench" being wrong on boring old policy. (Except the one guy who nobody trusted. Sorry, Ted.)
Trump/DeSantis will probably come down to the same thing. Ron has already proven he's willing to be a homophobic transphobic religious freak. Is Ron willing to go after China and immigration full throttle, beyond any point where he could turn back or pivot? Is he willing to denounce globalism to the extent that he is eviscerated by the media as a Trumpy racist xenophobic anti-semite, not for a week, but for months on end?
If he is, he'll probably get a long look from a tired public. If he's not, Trump will eat his lunch for him.

On the 10th/11th Trump engaged in some pre-emptive campaigning to push himself and diminish the two perceived rivals, DeSantis and Youngkin. Just paragraphs of taking credit sort of thing.
The Desanctimonious thing I don't really take seriously as it seems to be an off-hand comment about a pretty bad ad, though I thought it wasn't a tweet but something he said.
