The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“What’s left out there in terms of how the vote keeps, you know, coming in, despite all of what has been said by Donald Trump and other election deniers, and now beginning to be also Kelli Ward who’s falling behind you know, Katie Hobbs, but for the governor’s race, Maricopa County has some of the best vote counting processes because of past problems.” NBC's Andrea Mitchell

Quote II

"We need everyone focused on winning the Georgia Senate race, and deceptive fundraising tactics by teams that just won their races are siphoning money away from Georgia,” Herschel Walker campaign manager Scott Paradise

Quote III

"We underperformed among independents and moderates because their impression of many of the people in our party in leadership roles is that they're involved in chaos, negativity, excessive attacks, and it frightened independent and moderate Republican voters," Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)

Fucking loser.

For those lucky enough to be stranded and then located. Hang on, your snack is on its way.

It's a nightmare scenario. You're on an ambitious mountain hike when you get lost, injured or stranded. The good news is help is finally on the way, but the bad news is it's going to take time to reach you and you're out of food. That's when a buzzing drone comes flying in for a landing. Not only do you get the snacks, medicine or water it's carrying, you can eat the wings to tide you over until the rescue team arrives.

This scenario could become real. A team with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL) has developed a prototype edible drone. The munchable machine is part of a broader project called RoboFood. RoboFood is about investigating edible robots for humans and animals as well as foods that behave like robots.

Instead of worrying about the soaring costs of fuel and food Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is worried about the effects of Ticket Master crashing.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused Ticketmaster of monopolizing the ticket sales industry on Tuesday after the company's site crashed as Taylor Swift fans attempted to buy pre-sale tickets to the singer's upcoming "Eras" tour.

Ocasio-Cortez took the opportunity to voice longstanding concern about the 2010 merger of Ticketmaster, the ticket sales and distribution company, and Live Nation, the events promoter and venue operator, into Live Nation Entertainment.

"Daily reminder that Ticketmaster is a monopoly, it's merger with LiveNation should never have been approved, and they need to be reigned in. Break them up," the Democratic congresswoman from New York tweeted.

Interesting story. Above my pay grade. I wonder what our former naval Morons think. Navy captain censured over fatal Marine AAV accident recommended to command aircraft carrier

Eight Marines and one sailor were killed in the deadliest training accident involving an amphibious assault vehicle in Marine Corps history.

The former captain of the amphibious transport dock USS Somerset has been selected to command an aircraft carrier even though he received a letter of censure from the Navy Secretary for his role in the July 30, 2020 training accident in which eight Marines and one sailor died when their amphibious assault vehicle sank.

Capt. John William Kurtz’s name appears on the Navy’s fiscal 2024 list of officers who are recommended to command an aircraft carrier. If selected, Kurtz would not be promoted, as commanding officers for aircraft carriers hold the rank of captain.

Not so fast with this widespread bribery the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals says.

President Joe Biden’s widespread student loan forgiveness plan was blocked for the second time in less than a week, this time by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis.

The federal appeals court ruling comes after six conservative states—Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Carolina—filed a lawsuit arguing that Biden’s loan cancellation plan hurts state revenues. The three-judge panel of the appeals court issued a nationwide injunction on the plan, meaning the Biden administration cannot forgive any debt under the program.

“The injunction will remain in effect until further order of this court or the Supreme Court of the United States,” the panel of appeals court judges wrote in the ruling.

Perhaps the adults in the room didn't want MushHead to party with them.

He took an unexplained pass on Tuesday’s final festivities at the G-20 summit, but President Biden still had a very busy day diplomatically as the Group of 20 summit of the world’s leading developed and developing nations wound down in Bali, Indonesia.

Mr. Biden unexpectedly skipped the gala leaders’ dinner, returning to his hotel room for the evening. It is unclear why Mr. Biden decided on the last-minute change to his schedule, which came at the end of a full day of meetings.

A sex war is on the horizon here.

“Gas prices? They’ll go down. But sure, tell me more about how you want the government to tell me what to do with my body.” So writes one liberal feminist on Twitter, following it up with: “Republicans suck. I don’t want to talk to you. I don’t want to hear your side. I don’t care. Y’all are bad people.”

If 21st-century politics is shaping up as class war, the American midterm elections have concretised a troubling facet of this political landscape: this class war is also a sex war.

Writing about the dynamic as a feminist is uncomfortable in the extreme because it’s difficult to do so without being accused of misogyny. This is not least because among the very online Right, there really is more than a tinge of misogyny to the term most commonly used to denote progressive-leaning Virtual women: AWFLs.

The stockholders of Twitter walked away smelling like roses. In the meantime Elon Musk is really ending the literal "Free Lunch" at Twitter.

Twitter employees are once again in an uproar after CEO Elon Musk made a ridiculous discovery involving the program’s costs.

Twitter’s San Francisco HQ’s free lunch program was axed by the technology mogul after he discovered they were costing the company close to $13 million a year, the New York Post reported.

Sperm count drop is accelerating worldwide and threatens the future of mankind, study warns

Sperm counts worldwide have halved over the past five decades, and the pace of the decline has more than doubled since the turn of the century, new research shows.

The international team behind it says the data is alarming and points to a fertility crisis threatening the survival of humanity.

Their meta-analysis looked at 223 studies based on sperm samples from over 57,000 men across 53 countries.

83 From what I saw with the Amphib exercise deaths, the main culprit is an overaged amphibious vessel swamping suddenly. THe training tho get out safely (enhanced by emergency oxygen supplies) was the Marine Coprs commander embarked.

Still, the CO is inescapably responsible, and had "bad luck." Did he learn? Get better later in the command?
A zero defect Navy is popular with senior officers, but leave their upcoming command candidates untested in calamities. Still, lucky commanders can only lose that title once.

You're technically incorrect, but functionally correct.

The Electors may not vote for both a President and a VP from their own state.

So if you have enough electors from the other 49 to get both your guys in, you're okay.

In the case most people are talking about--two Floridian Republicans--that won't happen, since you can't let that many (R) Electors sit out the VP race.

Or you'll wind up with Trump and AoC in the White House.

For years I thought a smoking jacket was just some gay looking bathrobe looking thing that men wore as they smoked as if it was part of some silly decorum ritual. Then I though because they seemed to be red a lot maybe it was like a warning,"fire hazard here". I never understood it. It was only later in life when I started smoking anything that burned and eventually noticed the little tiny holes in my shirts did it occur to me its to actually protect your clothes from sparks and ashes.

Then, when the postal worker came home, they murdered him and stole his truck, leaving a trail of evidence a mile wide. Turns out one of the prosecutors at their trial is a relative of mine.

Whether DeSantis actually has a secret or not it's moot. That is the risk you take with someone "new". No secret, true, new or made up is going to suddenly derail Trump. But anyone who is new to the scene, which DeSantis is, can and likely will be ruined by simple innuendo.

It's amazing that people don't seem to have any inkling of what the spotlight would look like on DeSantis or anyone else. It's like some kind of amnesia or denial.

Being governor of Florida, even as some kind of rock star conservative magnet, is like a tiny shard of a peanut shell compared to the Planters factory in a five alarm fire with nukes pointed at it from seven different countries while Mr. Peanut anally rapes everything in sight with his dildo power cane in a 10.0 earthquake and fireworks made of flaming clown boners until something collapses from the sheer weight of chaos. The global headlines alone will cut anyone remotely normal to absolute ribbons.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Trump makes it look easy. The person that can successfully navigate the gauntlet they've thrown at him is a one in a billion shot.

We didn't have to program; just use the darn thing. The operator communicated with the computer by way of a teletype terminal. All the parameters monitored had a code number. "100" was hole depth. Type in "100", and the system would display the current hole depth, to a tenth of a foot. "101" was bit depth, and when it tracked with hole depth, it meant the bit was on bottom, drilling.

But my aunt and my middle name are Pauline, if that tells you anything. I found his muster cards; he was put on bread and water for drinking on guard duty. Really have to wonder how badly they damaged NASA with this woke crap ... including changing temp data to fabricate global warming. And how many women became heads of departments with no real competence?

Another part of the destructive march through the institutions.

No. Vote fraud is a many-headed Hydra. Ballot harvesting, voting machine algorithms, multiple voter registrations, trunks of ballots miraculously being found to turn around an election, polls worker tabulating votes behind closed doors, states ignoring their own election laws vis-a-vis mail in ballots, plus I'm sure there are more ways the Dems cheat.

Unless people literally hang for vote fraud, we are boned as a Nation.

The igniters are inside the engine combustion chamber. The big sparklers are to burn any gaseous hydrogen that may get released if there's a problem before start, to ignite it as it vents, to preclude a lot of gaseous hydrogen accumulating and becoming an explosion hazard.

For decades NASA has been doing "outreach" with space food and cool videos of launches and astronauts doing spins inside the space station, targeted at grade school and middle school kids. Objective is to get kids, especially women and minorities, interested in STEM degree tracks in colleges. Because who doesn't want to become an astronaut and eat freeze-dried ice cream while spinning in zero-gee?

Yet I've never seen any statistics or heard anecdotal evidence that this has had any effect on STEM college enrollment or graduations. But this crap will never end.
