Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Gestapo DOJ Sends Election Meddlers to 24 States; Ron DeSantis Tells Them They Are Forbidden to Enter State Polling PlacesThese tyrants must be made to pay. Take their power away. Take their funding away. And in 2025, take their jobs away. The Justice Department will send monitors to 24 states in an effort to ensure compliance with federal voting rights laws in Tuesday's elections. The action, which occurs regularly on Election Day, comes as civil rights groups and the federal government have raised alarm over potential voter intimidation at some polling places and ballot boxes. The 2022 election is playing out against the backdrop of persistent falsehoods made by former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies about losing the 2020 vote, a relentless campaign that will have implications as people cast their ballots. Democrats, on the other hand, have expressed concerns over the potential for voter suppression. The 64 jurisdictions where federal monitors -- typically lawyers with the department's civil rights division and U.S. attorney's offices across the United States -- are going include Maricopa County, Arizona, where there have been reports of people watching ballot boxes, sometimes armed or wearing ballistic vests.Ballot boxes are not polling places, and ballistic vests are not weapons. Missouri's Secretary of State sent a similar letter. Meanwhile, there are reports that Democrats are ejecting legal, credentialed poll watchers from polling places: Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Was listening to a radio report from French Canadian radio about the US mid-terms and the big story was that a lot of Trump backed candidates who believed the "grand mensonge", the big lie that the 2020 election wasn't 'free and fair" and these candidates have a good chance of winning, which could imperil democracy. and the feckless GOPe better not stand for this crap again.
Honest question - why wouldn't they stand for it? Consider: - the 2020 election was stolen in broad daylight and the right bent over and took it dry. - the GOP has campaigned on virtually nothing and, for a few moments, was looking at a 'red wave.' - Cruz, Paul, McConnell, McCarthy, Grassley and all the rest will still have their phony-baloney jobs after today's 'vote' is over. - they know there isn't going to be any sort of nationwide strike, backlash or punishment for the Dem steal, because you - the putative 'voter' - have to work, pay your bills and feed your family. You can't afford to protest the steal. So, again, why shouldn't the GOP 'stand' for it? Posted by: Mary Poppins' Practically Perfect Piercing at November 08, 2022 12:17 PM (AW0uW) 195

I checked out Kari Lake's Twitter feed; in response to the Maricopa County "malfunctions," she's advising people to remain at the voting locations and either wait for the ballot to be tabulated on site, ask to use the handicapped voting machine (no idea what that is), or leave the ballot in a box to be counted later.
She adds that if you've already checked in, you should NOT go to another place and cast a provisional ballot, because it probably won't count. "Mail ballot deadline extended in Georgia after clerical error...A judge in Georgia has ordered one state county to extend the deadline for returning mail-in ballots for hundreds of people. All of this angst about machines down and mail in ballot counts only matter if the early vote is close to the election day vote. Which means low turn out today. Election day turnout has exceeded expections in 2016, 2018, and 2020. The data has shown massive intent for GOP voters to vote today. Early vote didn't hit the numbers needed and ABC is wishcasting if they think more votes are sitting in post offices that will overcome today's vote. I've been thinking about that scene in Star Wars when they end up in the trash compactor. Wouldn't the monster get squished when they smash the trash?
So if the monster got there before the trash was last compacted, who flushed a fully grown monster? Also, why compact your trash when you're just dumping it into space? Nothing about that scene makes sense. --- It's one of the stupider scenes. The Spaceballs literally combing the desert makes more actual sense. I'm stuck in the middle with you after voting & getting more wood for the woodstove. Here, in glorious Delco, PA, county voters who have submitted ANY flawed vote-by-mail ballots are being reminded to correct them as any considered to be flawed (damaged, unsigned, undated, improperly dated, unsealed, or not placed in the "secrecy envelope" before being placed in the larger return envelope) may be disqualified.
The county's Bureau of Elections is responsible for reviewing all ballots returned by mail. Those considered flawed are segregated & the Bureau attempts to contact voters to give them a chance to obtain a new ballot at the Voter Service Center, for completion & return during the same visit. Voters who didn't receive their vote-by-mail ballot can check the status online & visit the Voter Service Center to obtain a replacement. Vote-by-mail ballots must be properly completed, sealed, signed & dated to be counted before 8pm today. A Philly radio station reported Comcast CEO Roberts had a flawed vote-by-mail ballot as did a well-known attorney. So we see if they can F-up, anyone can. The Sandinista National Liberation Front completed its political domination of Nicaragua on Monday as electoral officials said it had won control of all the country’s 153 municipalities in elections that critics called unfair.
Coming into Sunday’s elections, the party of President Daniel Ortega already controlled 141 of Nicaragua’s municipalities. But that's just because you can do nothing apart from the faculties he's given you. Jesus said you can do *nothing* apart from him, but I only expect Christians to see that as consistent and refining of their faith. It's true though that in the Bible where God wanted to part rivers he had the Israelites wade into them first. You have to do a part, even it the part itself seems futile in the hope of getting the whole thing done. (Which *wading* wouldn't do). I generally avoid pessimism and "conspiracy theory" thinking, but come on, you can't see this pattern and NOT be suspicious:
1) To culminate a 2 year campaign of "othering" anyone who shows even the slightest skepticism about election integrity, Biden gives a completely out of place speech, scheduled hastily, demanding everyone accept the results of the upcoming election that all indicators show is likely to be a bloodbath for his side. Posted by: can of spam at November 08, 2022 01:41 PM (7oNMO) 848
Ok, that's Biden just doing the stupid thing because it's Biden, right? Well, then we get...
2) In the final days before the election, a coordinated steady drumbeat of "any intelligent person knows that it's going to take days or weeks before the results are known" despite the fact that even a 3rd world hell-hole can count all their votes in one day. Now, why would they stress that so hard? you may ask yourself. And that's when the final piece kicks in: 3) On election day, systemic "failures" of voting machines plus last-minute procedural changes (ala Philadelphia) all designed to do one thing: delay the counting and reporting of votes in key districts. The only sane and logical conclusion is they're going to steal everything that isn't nailed down - and they're bringing in crowbars to try for them too.
