Isn't it terribly odd? There is no such thing as election fraud when Democrats " " " win, " " " but as Republicans are set to win a huge victory, suddenly voting machines can be hacked and probably will be.
This is a sign that we're going to win, and win big.
Bear in mind, almost all of the Democrats claiming they're "better off" or "about the same" are lying just to #Rig the poll.

Remember to vote "YES" on Public Measure #1 on November 8th. This is a vote to amend the Iowa State Constitution to add the right to keep and bear arms. The wording of the proposed amendment is :
“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The sovereign state of Iowa affirms and recognizes this right to be a fundamental individual right. Any and all restrictions of this right shall be subject to strict scrutiny.”
I'm told that the measure for the proposed amendment is on the back side of the ballot, so be sure to flip your ballot over and vote "YES" on Measure #1.
This proposed amendment has passed two successive sessions of the Iowa legislature, and if it gets 50% + 1 vote on November 8th, it will be added to the state Constitution.

That's why the question is phrased like it is. "Are you better-off" is highly subjective but also very, very broad. If tons of people think they're better off, things are probably okay.

If there were to be a hot civil war, they - and a bunch of other folks - would be turned to ash by someone. If the US gets embroiled in internal armed conflict, an external player will eventually conclude that ending the conflict on his own terms would be beneficial by playing kingmaker and taking out either the government or the opposition, probably with nukes.
The only real question in my mind if a civil war were to break out is "who ends it, and for what purpose?" There are a ton of choices on the "who ends it" part.

This, at least, puts it into law that if they try to limit they must use strict scrutiny.

There is no effin way that 37% have it "just the same." The only people who have it "just the same" are people who are so wealthy that they have oodles of disposable income. To people like that, higher electricity, fuel and food prices aren't felt.

GA, AZ, and NV seem pretty likely, along with keeping PA. Picking up NH would get the GOP to 54.
That's a strong enough base without going further to get 6 more in 2024 (OH, MT, and WV would require knocking off long-serving incumbents, which probably wouldn't be the easiest trifecta to pull off).

I have a buddy who's decently high up on the ladder in a big company. Works very hard. Earns a lot of money. Spends a lot of money, too.
He and I were talking last week and he said, basically, "I've redone all of my budgeting and am cutting back. The structural problems everywhere look really bad to me. I am still earning a lot of money and I don't think that's going to change for the next year, but beyond that is truly a mystery. It's time for me to batten down the hatches."
That is *not* an optimistic read. Even if you're affluent and doing really well, there's tremendous downside out there.

Technical definition of Strict Scrutiny, as it is used by the Federal Courts, is that to pass strict scrutiny, the legislature must have passed the law to further a "compelling governmental interest," and must have narrowly tailored the law to achieve that interest.
Or to put it even more simply, Congress must very specifically lay out what they want to do, and why, in the legislation enacting such a restriction.

The GOP did not say they would cut spending and thus inflation, did not say that they would spur domestic production of goods, again quelling inflation, and so on. Recognizing a glaring problem exists is one thing, having at least some credible plan to do something about it is quite another. Voters would mobilize themselves more if the GOP said what they would do. They seem to be doing better in state races than in DC on that.

I worked for a firm that sold, installed and maintained statewide election software for 10 years. (Twenty years ago) I worked directly with the SoS office in Michigan, Conn, Maine, Mississippi and other states that I've forgotten.

My wife has been comfortably retired for 5 years and wants me to retire, but I'm terrified that our nest egg is going to be wiped out by hyper inflation eventually.

That is why NY crime in the 90's never got as bad as LA and it is because NY had about three times as many cops per capita on patrol as LA did.

I'm a Texas voter. In my county we are using electronic voting machines to vote. Once you are happy with your vite, you press submit and it prints a paper with all your votes on it. You can see if there are any mistakes on the print out. If acceptable, you go over to one of the workers and they take your papet ballot and scan it into their system.

Same here with one very small change; we get to see the printed ballot, check it for errors, and then on the way out drop it in a ballot box by the door. You still get the chance to double check your ballot before it's cast.

GOP states AZ and GA have reduced the ability to vote dump. PA, even the PA Sup. Ct has required segregation of undated ballots which allows a challenge to them at the local level. The WI Sup. Ct. cut the Dem ability to cheat there on dropboxes and some other 'voter outreach' activity.
A number of states were successfully sued by voter integrity groups to cull their voter registrations where people were dead, moved out of state, or could not be confirmed as existing. Private groups are monitoring and recording voter drop boxes and taking down information about possible voter harvesters using cameras, cell phone data, and license plates.
Lot of small things but we will see how they stack up tomorrow night.
