The FBI Offered Disgraced Stooge of Russian Oligarch Oleg Deripaska, Christopher Steele, $1 Million if He Could Prove That His "Dossier" Claim Were True.
The Very Generous Bounty Remains Uncollected.

Hey FBI -- if I float you a theory about my political enemies, who will be Democrats and neocons, will you offer me a million dollar bounty to dig up the proof for that theory, or nah?

Nah, right?

That's how desperate the FBI was to prove the "dossier" was true, which they knew was paid for by Hillary Clinton: They were offering a one million dollar cash prize for proof.

But no proof was ever produced.

Because this Russian-agent c*nt made it all up.

This came out on the first day of the obstruction of justice trial of Igor "Iggy" Danchenko, Christopher Steele's actual Russian source, a do-nothing, know-nothing fuckboy alcoholic working for the Clinton-connected Brookings Institute and openly coveting a spot in the would-be Clinton Administration.

Shortly before the 2016 election, the FBI offered retired British spy Christopher Steele "up to $1 million" to prove the explosive allegations in his dossier about Donald Trump, a senior FBI analyst testified Tuesday.

The cash offer was made during an October 2016 meeting between Steele and several top FBI officials who were trying to corroborate Steele's claims that the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia to win the election.

FBI supervisory analyst Brian Auten testified that Steele never got the money because he could not "prove the allegations."

This is the scumbag leftwinger who was assigned to both the Russiagate probe -- he was handing out one million dollar bounties for October Surprises that would sink Trump -- and the Hunter Biden laptop case -- he claimed that it was all Russian Disinformation, which of course resulted in his fellow FBI officials tell the social media companies to clamp down on stories about it.

Auten also said Steele refused to provide the names of any of his sources during that meeting, and that Steele didn't give the FBI anything during that meeting that corroborated the claims in his explosive dossier.

Auten was testifying at the criminal trial of Igor Danchenko, a primary source for Steele's dossier, who is being prosecuted by special counsel John Durham. Danchenko has pleaded not guilty to lying to the FBI.

So the FBI knew that all the claims in the Steele "Dossier" were a worthless pile of claims with no proof behind them, with Steele not even willing to disclose his "sources."

Which were all Iggy Danchenko, a Washington, DC resident and chronic drunk.

But guess what they did anyway?

Aaron Mate
@aaronjmate

Steele-FBI meeting [with offer of $1 million bounty for proof] was on October 3 2016. FBI's first surveillance warrant on Carter Page was then filed on Oct. 21.

This means that after the FBI offered Steele $1 million to prove his dossier -- which he couldn't -- FBI filed a surveillance warrant based on the dossier anyway.

Even if you object that they would give Steele more than 18 days to prove his "dossier" -- what about the next re-authorization, which came three months after that? And the next one, three months after that? And the next one, three months after that?

Because while idiotic clowns like Danchenko and that lawyer who was OJ-acquitted by DC-area jury nullification should be convicted and punished, I'm gonna guess that the main point here was the *official* corruption. So Durham will wrap up not having mussed the hair of one public official?

I think gun control is largely failure theater on the part of Democrats. They know it's impossible to actually attain it, but that doesn't mean that they don't have the desire to make it happen...somehow. That's a slow walk through the institutions thing, and they're very far from trying to make it happen in reality.

Doesn't mean they're not willing to take small victories where they can to get things moving, but mostly gun control is just a fundraising ploy. Still, a progressive SCOTUS declaring the 2nd Amendment unconstitutional would be that kind of step.

Disagree. (strongly). That will become the political fight of the century, and FBI supporters will come out of the woodwork. It'll be the central accomplishment of the Trump2 "The Reckoning" presidency, but it will be the only accomplishment, because of the time it will take.

Instead, use Executive Branch authority and SWIFTLY. Move all senior people from all over the country, along with every single agent who participated in political raids to Arizona. Liase there with the outnumbered and overworked Border Patrol. Put all 7th floor people, in fact all Hoover Building people, along with the Agents in Charge from around the country on EMERGENCY walk-the-border duty.

When the cartels are no longer a threat, Trump should promise, they will all get promotions and medals. The thanks of a grateful nation.

But, until then, they walk. Every day. Unarmed, because we wouldn't want them to hurt any poor refugees. Give them a water bottle, comfortable boots and the reassurance that their health will really benefit.

No door to door seizures...too risky. They play the long game. Outlaw, restrict sale and manufacture, reduce appeal and acceptance to the general public. Make it super risky to own a firearm, because it will be illegal in some manner. Then, if you're arrested for any other issue, even minor, when they search your home and FIND the weapons, you're suddenly in jail with a 10 year minimum felony.

Maybe some of the most egregious crap will be nixed by SCOTUS in due course - would be nice if contemptuous rebellion by some circuits and many states against Heller were at least noticed by SCOTUS, in all its majesty.

Though the first reaction will be like after the recent decision. Endless variations on bad-faith dodges and trickeration to harass gun owners and burden gun ownership.

Lawlessness comes in several forms, but the most important one is bad faith combined with a totalitarian mindset.

Happening right now in Lugansk oblast. Russkis digging in. Pretty clear it will take them time to spin up more numbers of effective units from the mobilization, they continue to prioritize the south over the east (presumably because in the longer run it's easier to hold those areas, which are also genuinely anti-Uke and would never be easy for the Ukes to hold).

That's how desperate the FBI was to prove the "dossier" was true, which they knew was paid for by Hillary Clinton: They were offering a one million dollar cash prize for proof.

------

According to the FBI, the FBI *knew* that Steele was an inveterate liar from his days in Brit intel. This liar came to them with an obvious lie, while in the employ of Hillary Clinton's private intelligence operation. Comey and McCabe (also professional liars) then deliberately filtered the lie through the liars in the media (Kristol, Continetti, Jeff Zucker) and a liar in the Senate (John McCain) to turn the lie into actionable intelligence.

They weren't looking for "proof" or offering a "prize." They were offering a taxpayer-funded $1m bribe for their shady-ass source to fabricate evidence for them to bandy about and pretend to believe. I think Steele was just too smart to let these dumbfucks put him on the hook like that. Throughout the entire thing, he was careful to couch *everything* he lied about in language that provided him with deniability.

The fact that people believe that the Steele Dossier was the predicate for initialing counter-intelligence investigations into Trump is quite sad.

The LE/IC apparatus started investigating at Obama's request starting in 2012, shortly after Trump forced Obama to release that bogus birth certificate.

And I'm fairly confident the LE/IC apparatus has a slow burn "investigation" on Trump going back to the 80's.

And they probably marveled and said to themselves, "How the f**k is THIS GUY, so squeaky clean?"

Cato the Elder. Now there was a rock-ribbed conservative to make Roger B. Taney shudder. He worked in the fields alongside his slaves. Then, when a slave got too old to work, Cat would free him, to save the expense of feeding him. "Thank you for your service. There's the door."

Cato would probably have been admired in the Republic's early days. But in the decades after the Second Punic War, the one with Hannibal, Rome was already becoming far too decadent. His brand of "noble Roman" attitude did not get him invited to many parties, methinks.

Fine I will. Raising the prime rate does two things.
1. People don't borrow money.
2. Interest paid to the fed is effectively a money drain.

So you have two effects.
1. Slow the speed of money.
2. Reduce the M1 supply.

Those two effects offset inflationary pressures. But also choke the economy.

Personal bodyguards on battlefields(not the handful of individuals who prevent assassinations) could be pretty sizable for that purpose, and as you get deeper into the medieval era that's basically all of a monarch's personal troops. Considering targeting enemy generals was fairly popular and a great way to secure personal advancement, I'd say the group treated as a personal guard on the battlefield is different from the narrower role of dealing with assassins.

I have a friend who spent decades doing international business. He also would give the CIA information on his travels, nothing 007 like, just observations of the environment in the Middle East which was his primary work area. That's a parallel issue. The core problem is the funny money that's been sloshing around since 2009 and then going full retard on that insanity during the COVID stupids, combined with an absolutely unchecked, spendthrift government that refuses to acknowledge that rates can move a direction *other* than "down."

Energy is nearly as big a problem, and compounds the hell out of the other problems. Energy also moves fast, which makes it harder to manage.

Huge peeve I have about this subject, aimed especially towards the financial reporting community. Bloomberg, for instance, has no problem blaming a schizoid fiscal and monetary UK policy for all that country's current problems, but in the US? Let's pile on the Fed (not like they don't deserve what they're getting), but not one syllable uttered about what Biden's fiscal policy is doing. Another thing, the Fed had to open up a swap line to the Swiss central bank. There was some dollar shortage crisis brewing there.

That opened the door to domestic abuse.

They will try to prevent the markets from crashing, but I think they're fine with managing the decline down over a number of years. They're not going to fail to defend the dollar because the stock markets go down and borrowing gets more expensive.

The real question in my mind is whether they'll decide to sacrifice the dollar to prop up the US federal government or the European banking sector.

Dare I say this is a difference without distinction?

He basically pioneered the cavalry charge. His infantry is more a credit to his father and the Greeks more generally. Cavalry up to that point was more skirmish oriented and often reliant on ranged weapons.

Phillip set the stage for Alexander's success a point often lost. I suspect he also would have defeated the Persians, though being more risk adverse more slowly.

Of course after Alexander died his whole family was wiped out and the land divide among his generals and others so...likely a more cautious approach would have been a better one.

He was pretty young, and had been born to the purple, as they say -- his father was king of Macedonia, and Alexander was raised and trained in the full expectation that he would be the next king. Cautious counsel he might well have shrugged off, believing he was darn near invincible.

464 [Carter Page] was on with Maria Bartiromo a couple weeks ago. He's being blackballed, his story is very inconvenient for a lot of people. Mostly those who called him a Russian agent, they aren't going to go back on that and make themselves look stupid.

The courts, with few exceptions, are not our friends either. And that goes double for anything near DC. This whole thing should have been over by now but we are up against a large, embedded enemy who holds almost all the levers of real power. Take the wins and keep exposing them. Our best ally right now is exposing this in a way that can't be denied.

I decided to take a look at the news. Turns out that Bloomberg's Erik Larson published something today, "Trump Grievance Over Carter Page Surveillance Is Focus of Trial". You'd think that with that headline you'd see a mention of the $75 million lawsuit, especially after Larson explicitly writes that Page was an innocent man. Ctrl-F yields nada on that, however. Completely memoryholed.

465 206 If you erect 10 gallows on the mall and make them tie their own noose with a loop at both ends while they stand in line. They step up on the platform, noose around the neck, loop over a hook on the crossbar, open the trap door, snap the neck, cut the rope, close the door, repeat. You could get through a couple hundred per hour.
