The Morning Report — 10/11/22

verruchtassault.jpg

Good morning kids. Tuesday and to quote a venerable TV gameshow from before many of you were born, "The Password is 'desperation'. I think that word describes quite a bit of what we are experiencing at present. On the global level, look at the words and actions of Vladimir Putin. He thought he was going to just waltz into Ukraine and knock over the country in 48 hours without anyone in his army getting so much as a scratch. Here we are seven months later and the Russian armed forces, its generalship and alarmingly (for them) its intelligence services have been exposed as incompetent, inept and ill-prepared to take on what on paper should have been a relative pushover. Now, we have hundreds of dead and a pissed off populace on both sides, and Vladimir Putin with now a literal target on his back. Remember this is still Russia, aka, the former Soviet Union. A nation that has thousands of nuclear weapons from suitcase tactical nukes that could kill thousands all the way up to a MIRVed, thermonuclear ICBMs that could kill millions at the push of a button. And for the past several weeks Putin, as well as his cronies, have made the most gossamer thin of threats and hints at their potential use.

Not to worry because we have Joe Biden and company in the White House, by way of Kalorama. Yes, the best and the brightest that either put the words in his mouth or else thought it the most brilliant idea ever to have a demented vegetable be their puppet and claim the world is at risk of nuclear "armageddon."

Well, desperate times do call for desperate measures.

Two weeks ago, it is possible the [junta] made a calculated decision that it was worth risking nuclear conflict with Russia through an unprecedented act of energy terrorism and environmental depredation in order to shore up political support and suppress dissent at home. . .

. . . The number of “coincidences” one needs to entertain in order to subscribe to the official media and government narrative that Putin blew up his own pipeline (in the process destroying any possible leverage he had over European support for his Ukrainian foes) requires a truly Homeric suspension of disbelief. One has to ignore the fact that both Biden and longtime neocon warmonger Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland explicitly threatened Nord Stream operations in early 2022 should Russia invade Ukraine. One must further ignore the fact that Defense Department Spokesperson John Kirby bragged that the destruction of Nord Stream presented a “tremendous opportunity for years to come” to reduce dependence on Russian gas and oil, while disavowing U.S. responsibility for creating such good fortune. Above all, one must ignore the fact that Putin and Russia gain precisely no strategic advantage from destroying an expensive investment they were effectively using as political leverage over Europe. Putin, we are told, is mentally unbalanced and increasingly unstable due to cognitive impairment (unlike the current occupant of the White House).

So, in traditional realpolitik analysis, cui bono? The answer is obvious. A regime facing devastating electoral losses in just over a month. A desperate regime that has failed to prolong the panic over [Chinese] COVID (or to create a new panic over Monkeypox) in order to credibly suspend in-person voting on what was once known as Election Day. A regime with far too much to lose should the GOP gain congressional oversight as a result of inevitable revelations related to 1) government collaboration with Big Pharma and media to perpetuate vaccine fraud; 2) the use of intelligence agencies and their social media lackeys to target political opponents; 3) the coordination by Biden political operatives of election fraud in 2020, and, especially; 4) the Biden crime family and its operations in both China and Ukraine. . .

. . . Of course, provoking foreign crises in order to suspend civil liberties (including elections) and crack down on political opponents at home with the use of “wartime emergency powers” has long been a favorite page in the playbook of totalitarian regimes over the world. And the events of the past week should leave no doubt that the Biden regime is contemplating, if not on the verge of implementing, just such a contingency.

If I were a betting man, I would say that this is exactly their next play. They literally have nothing left to lose, except for the illusion and mythology crafted and pimped for decades that they are the good guys, which has propelled them to the point of achieving absolute, permanent power, if that hasn't been attained already. It ain't just Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants, either.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, says President Joe Biden was right to bring up nuclear "Armageddon" at a Democrat fund-raiser last week because "the United States has to be ready for Putin to use a tactical nuclear weapon."

"Well, I think the president is right to raise the risk of nuclear conflict, because Vladimir Putin is increasingly getting pushed into a corner," Murphy told CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday:

"This war is going incredibly badly for him. The mobilization that he has undertaken has backfired. This morning, you see scenes of hundreds of Russian troops essentially refusing to go into training and to the front. So, yes, this is a dangerous man. And the United States has to be ready for Putin to use a tactical nuclear weapon.

"I agree, I don't think there's any sign that he is going to do that imminently. And it's important for us to send signals about what the consequences would be, should he make that choice. But I think Joe Biden is right to just get this country ready for the fact that you are dealing with an incredibly dangerous human being in Russia, the war is going badly, and you just can't predict what he's going to do next."

Well, genius, if "you just can't predict what he's going to do next" shouldn't you be doing everything possible to de-escalate the situation instead of taking sides, shoving billions of dollars at Zelensky as well as military and intelligence assistance that can be and probably are de facto acts of war? This is not Grenada. This is not Libya. This is not Iraq. This is the former Soviet-fucking-Union. You maniacs are poking the damn bear when you should be de-assing with the quickness at warp speed away from him. And you have the freaking gall to claim Putin is unpredictable?! Fuck me to tears, but this is insanity.

It is bad enough if this is just radiant incompetence on the part of these Skull and Bones, Foggy Bottom, Kennedy School navel-gazers. If this is intentional, it's murder. And that cannot be ruled out, all things considered. And closer to home, the desperation of these criminals in the DC junta who sense their hold on power being challenged and perhaps slipping from their grasp is palpable.

Yesterday, J.D. Vance delivered a figurative beat-down in a debate with his Ohio senatorial opponent Tim Ryan. And yet Ryan, cornered like the two-faced phony vermin that he is actually doubled-down on the eliminationist rhetoric that he, his party, the propaganda media and institutional left have blood-libeled half the nation with. And by blood libeling, given the acts of Leftists with everything from guns and Molotov cocktails to SUVs and even fists, I mean literally that.

Democrat Rep. Tim Ryan doubled down on his comments from earlier in the year calling to “kill and confront” MAGA while specifically targeting J.D. Vance in his rhetoric during the debate on Monday night.

In the heated debate between Ryan and his Republican opponent for Ohio’s open U.S. Senate seat, Ryan was confronted and asked to explain his comments earlier in the year when he told MSNBC’s Morning Joe that the “exhausted majority” needed to “kill and confront” the extremist Republican movement.

Now, Ryan, during the debate — doubling down on his comments — included Vance in the group of people he labels as “extremists.”

“Kill and Confront the extremist movement of which J.D. Vance, unfortunately, is a part of,” Ryan claimed. ”
Ryan, trying to frame Vance for his past comments, added, “Who says that the president of the United States is intentionally trying to kill people with fentanyl? Who says that the election was stolen?”

“Who runs around with Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida who wants to ban books? He runs around with Lindsey Graham, who wants a national abortion ban. You’re running around Marjorie Taylor Greene, who’s the absolute looniest politician in America,” Ryan said, looking to list off lawmakers Vance has come in contact with or commented on, on the campaign trail.

“This is a dangerous group, and we do need to confront it, and that’s why I’m running to represent the ‘exhausted majority’: Democrats, Republicans, and independents, against the extreme,” Ryan finished.

Projection ain't just a river in Egypt, Timmy. Everything you claim is what you and yours actually did, you miserable piece of shit. What's worse, the abject desperation to spout this poison is provably dangerous to innocent life. Shannon Brandt is not a lone wolf; he is a political terrorist that you and yours weaponized and approve of.

Same with this Darrel Brooks cancer who slaughtered innocent people at the Waukesha Christmas parade.

And since you have direct access to Dick Durbin and Bernie Sanders, maybe you could ask them about James Hodgkinson, since both have refused to talk about what they knew and when they knew it. Of course, that's easy when you have both propaganda arm that refuses to inquire as well as a DOJ and FBI that is not only not interested in getting at the truth but is actively engaged in the political repression and terror campaign of the junta itself.

Yup. It smells like desperation all around. But will it be SUVs or ICBMS at ten paces?

I remain skeptical of Tulsi.

She was rejected by the Democrats because she wasn't quite lunatic enough for them but she's still pretty far left.

17 Tulsi is in my opinion, one of the greatest threat to conservative voters.

She is able to portray herself as moderate, to borderline conservative.

And for voters who have been put off by all the progressive attacks on our foundation, yet leery of pulling the lever for someone who they might consider as too MAGA, she could be an enticing option.

21 Reflecting on your main point about the need to create a crisis before the election; this is why since it happened on Saturday morning, i have believed that the US either carried out or strongly encouraged the attack on the crimean bridge. The goal was not to disrupt traffic; the goal was to force Putin to make large scale counter attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, thus justifying the direct entry of NATO (ie US) conventional forces into this war. You can see the entire MSM calling for this already.

23 In Cleveland this past week, I saw a Ryan billboard saying "I am a Republican. I support our police. I'm voting for Tim Ryan", and then in Philadelphia yesterday I saw the same exact formulation, only this time for Fetterman.

Democrats seem to be trying to pretend it is Republicans who reduced police funding.

It is hard to reach an appropriate level of cynicism in this election season. Something past eleventy on the dial is required.

I think the reason the Russians haven't attempted using their air force against Ukraine is because they know that the Ukes have stinger missiles. Leftists activists know that all of their efforts are destructive and lead to death, maiming, social and economic destruction therefore when Good People step up and counter this assault, it is interpreted only in their standards of political activism - as violent.

And this is why the republic is dead. In a republic, politics is the art and practice of persuasion. It is in non-republican governments that "beating them" is the dominant form of politics.

It isn't surprising, of course. This is the guy who lamented the absence of "positive rights" in the Constitution, thus missing the point entirely (and intentionally).

That's a pretty weak point. The gap in time makes no material difference in the results.

There also isn't a good alternative theory to sabotage for multiple explosions at some distance from each other in a short time frame. One plan crashing into the World Trade Center could've been a tragic accident, it was apparent to everyone when the second hit that it was an attack.

Meanwhile the governments of Europe pretty much immediately concluded it was sabotage.

If you were running an operation to purposefully sabotage the pipeline, would you do it all at once, or would you get one thing to explode, and then, come back 17 hours later to explode the other thing?

Let's assume you wanted plausible deniability. Would you blow up two widely separated pipelines at the same time, or would you have a delay?

218 And this is why the republic is dead. In a republic, politics is the art and practice of persuasion. It is in non-republican governments that "beating them" is the dominant form of politics.

You can't have a republic with two diametrically opposed views of the world.

What the left sees as good - molesting kids, trannies, "reducing the population" via clot shots, lowering the living standards of normal people, etc I see as evil and vice versa.

So there is no negotiation or persuasion.

Two competing objectives.

1. Render the pipelines in operable
2. Make it look like an accident

A delay of several months would be better for objective 2, but make objective 1 difficult or impossible, as given enough time after the first event, there'd be more security and attention.

294 NS isn't the only pipeline into Europe. The Ukrainian pipeline is capable of carrying 100 bcm annually. Yamal carries about 33 bcm. Bluestream and turkstream each carry about 16 bcm.

NS and NS2 were both capable of about 55bcm each.

Notice the only direct route into Europe is NS. That's the distinguishing factor. Notice also that the largest potential capacity comes through Ukraine.

Furthermore, Europe was trying to negotiate the NS flow and use it as potential leverage as part of the Ukraine war. Now there is nothing to negotiate except the spigot, largely through Ukraine.

Remember, Russia really wasn't earning much capital via NS. They are actually spending more on the Ukraine war then they're earning.

There is more then enough in that short analysis to give Russia a pretext to frag NS.

Joe Biden was the epitome of the media created image of the moderate Democrat from the moment Obama selected him as VP in 2008. They've been pushing the image for more than a decade.

And now a moderate Democrat (supported by centrist Republicans!) is leading to massive, massive issues and no slowdown of leftist cultural pressure from the Democrat Party.

This is another interesting point. It was easier for a normie to keep track of what was up for debate in an election when the federal government did so much less.

It also doesn't help that outside of Trump, voting R or D has gotten you the exact same polices for 20+ years now.

341 I think like most of us I am opposed to the forced move to "clean" energy because it won't work. Probably not ever but certainly not now.

By comparison most of those issues are trivial. Debating marginal tax rates isn't the sort of thing that sparks civil war. It's possible for economic issues to create rebellions but the stress either has to be severe or an interest of a powerful elite.

To use Iran vs Saudi Arabia as an example. Libs love cozying up to Iran, which is retarded, but not really a strong cause of strife for us domestically.

This isn't Russian Military maintenance with planes, tanks n subs that they are notorious for not being able to up-keep or Chernobyl which was design/engineering. People forget the Russians have a lot of Petro/Chem infrastructure, from oil platforms above Japan(some of the largest in the world) and in the Arctic. They have been in service for decades without incident. F'ing up 3-4 separate lines due to faulty maintenance or faulty procedure? Not likely. Plus Nordstream 2 should still be in the hands of the Swiss for two years after it is constructed, then handed over to the Russians.

You of course realize that Russia is and has been controlling that flow- right? Also that it's a source of revenue for Ukraine that Russia has been using as leverage and it is completely under their control.

That's a little different than a direct flow into Europe- don't you think?

Direct flow into Europe = direct negotiation
Indirect through Ukraine = third part negotiations and leverage.

I did have to invent some stuff, but I kept as close to the history as possible. Lots of quotes from primary sources.

Think about how this plays out... Republicans will almost definitely pick up a big win next month. Biden and his administration will still be ensconced for at least two years, during which time they will face no serious opposition on Capitol Hill. Whatever happens in '24, some similar formulation of that situation will almost certainly continue.

I highly doubt anyone in Quiet City Swamp is panicky over this whole silly election stuff. After '20, they're back to the shell game as usual, and they're acting like it.

Sure, go with that Marxist framing and talking point that White People don't exist but other races and tribes do so White People will be denied an existence. Foolishness like this plays into the enemy's hands by not allowing and denying Whites freedom of association among other God Given Laws.

That's one of the ways ranked choice can be used to beat the candidate who got the most votes, by getting more people to put their candidate as their #2 choice (thus getting a partial vote where none exists in standard voting) vs. their opponent who only gets a whole vote or nothing.

Ranked choice voting was on the ballot in MA in 2020, IIRC, and one of the scenarios they pitched as a benefit of it was that scenario: Candidate A gets the most votes (#1 choice); however, Candidate B got more votes cumulatively because of all the additional "votes" from those who selected her as their 2nd option.

That was pitched as a GOOD thing.

425 "Ukraine could destroy the Russian pipelines passing through their country, and there is little Russia could do to stop it."

Your analysis is extremely flawed. Ukraine wants the Russian gas flow. They earn much needed capital from it. We and the Euro's are funding their war largely because the Uke's can't earn that capital. They won't destroy the pipeline. They need it.

Indeed Russia doesn't want to depend on the Uke's. It is one reason they built NS, but not the only reason. They also don't transit other countries who get a cut of the revenue and need to perform maintenance. But the Uke's are corrupt and greedy. They were sticking it to Russia every chance they got. Now the tables have turned. The Uke's need the capital. Europe is about to freeze their asses off and the only place they can move major flows is through Ukraine (also don't forget NS flows were dramatically decreasing) Simply, the Uke's need Russian capital and the Euro's need the gas. Now there is only one place for that flow to move. Nobody can negotiate with Russia to move more direct flow through NS. It has to come via one route. My guess is there are already the beginning of talks to move more flow via

426 Hating Putin is like hating Trump. The only major difference seems to be is that Putin was a LCDR with the KGB (like our FBI/CIA/SS agencies? & our Lex Vindman) & Trump was never in the military, a similarity he shared with most of the more current presidents). Many of the same allegations & accusations surround them whether it be concerning accumulation of fortunes, their wives/girlfriends, the possible deviosity of adult children, stalking of their younger children and their mothers; being totally crazy and having nuke control, and being so mad that they're willing to destroy even all that they hold dear.

The way we've lost some refineries and capacity could be a little suspect & conspiracy theory-ish, again over more recent decades. And the former Committee to Investigate Russia...now there's some interesting folks.

My thoughts. I'm just tired & wish there were more facts & so much less conjecture & ill will, especially in important political & social matters.

444 No, hitting the pipeline doesn't help the Dems. It hasn't translated into greater support for involvement in Ukraine - why would it? If it had been a strike on a non-Russian pipeline subsequently blamed on Russia, then maybe. If it was intended to "inflame" the Kremlin into acting more belligerent it wouldn't translate into more support here. Any assumed political benefits would be too disconnected from the actual act as to result in any "gain." At most, you'd get existing true believers laughing about a "dunk on Putin."

The Kremlin, on the other hand, has already demonstrated a willingness to kill their own people to maintain power (a la the apartment bombings at the end on 1999). The act would have TREMENDOUS political benefit in Muscovy in trying to shore up support for the war. On its face, those who benefit the most are in the Kremlin, not DC.

449 Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. A formerly great, formerly powerful nation that has been humbled by the tides of fortune, who then starts getting all militaristic and starts invading the little guys next door, isn't something that should be ignored.

I tend to agree with sending military aide to Ukraine, simply because I think that if Ukraine can either defeat or at least do serious damage to Russia, they will be forced to stop doing invasions. It's pretty clear they intended to go after Moldova next. At some point, they have to be stopped.

The opportunity to stop them using Ukraine's military instead of our own is a pretty juicy opportunity.
