All Dogs Are Best Dogs Cafe

lushpinmaybe.jpg
Painting by Evegny Lushpin

Sometimes dogs are in shows.

Cats are not dogs, and therefore, cats are not best dogs. QED.

Lonely alpaca makes a friend. Not a dog, though.

Cow boy.

Sometimes evil is smol.

Dogs don't have big horns.

Dog helps hedgehog cross the road. Well, it's an honorary dog.

Dog carries around his pet kitten.

A donkey with the affectionate nature of a dog.

Sharing food with a friend.

Feel good story: A pair of geese had been abandoned in a park by their owner. Eventually the male contracted avian botulism, which is usually lethal. But a woman spots the sick bird and takes him in, and coverts her garage into a makeshift bird hospital. She also takes in the female, because they're a bonded pair and inseparable. She saves him, and they go on to adopt goslings who've lost their own parents.

Dogs are as intelligent as some humans.* * Depending on the humans in question.

A dog is happiness wrapped in fuzz.

Now I can't say enough good things about dogs.
Dogs are great. Dogs will change your life.

And nobody, except maybe my Mom, has ever loved me as much as my Logan did. RIP.

A number of years ago we were driving to some friends house for dinner. It was a particularly rough gravel road so I was driving extra slow. As we passed a pasture a donkey came racing along the fence line braying up a storm. I stopped and the donkey just stood there braying and braying non stop. I drove off thinking it was some weird territorial dispute.

Mentioned our meeting with our friends and they said the donkey's mate had died last night and was inconsolable. That was why she was braying to us. She was in a unbelievable emotional pain and probably asking us to help.

We should get some good imagery from the Italian mini-spacecraft that deployed behind DART, basically to monitor the impact. Hitting it was cool, now all the measurements will take place, to figure how much the impact diverted the smaller asteroid's orbit around the larger. Basically a proof-of-concept for the whole asteroid deflection idea.

The difficult part is maneuvering the spacecraft from Earth to within oh, 50,000 miles of the asteroid, on the desired velocity vector. Using ground radar tracking. Then the controllers turn on a closed-loop guidance system that's the equivalent of that in a smart bomb, one that optically locks onto an object that meets pre-set parameters. You saw how final approach was set-up with the Sun behind the spacecraft so that the target was well illuminated for the spacecraft's optical sensor to select it and track it.

It's smart bomb science, not so much rocket science. Whatever works!

De nada, my friend.

Musk's Dragon crew transport to ISS, and the Boeing Starliner, use similar but more sophisticated closed-loop optical guidance to dock to the ISS. I'm semi-knowledgeable about those systems Planetary body impact and spacecraft docking guidance technology has come a long way since the Ranger and Apollo days.

It also makes you realize that destroying satellites in orbit is a pretty straightforward task. You just need to build a maneuverable impactor with a smart-bomb optical guidance system and a big fuel tank (if you want the sats destroyed quickly after shooting begins).

The program would only be open to active drug users who come to an overdose prevention center (OPC), use the clean needle provided there for drug injection, and dispose of it at the site, according to the proposal.

I know this is a no math zone, but hear me out. $10/day cap at a $0.20 refund per needle, and the needle is only refundable as a 1:1 point of use... 50 injections per day? That is like covid booster numbers. That's alot of damn drugs.

I can listen to her all day. The only time I ever heard that rapid fire italian was when my relatives had heated discussions, and it wasn't that often because all my aunts sound like english is their first language, and it mostly was, because most were born here. Italian was normally used by the first generation Italians when they had spirited discussions with relatives who came to the US later that weren't born here, and had broken english, and was just easier to speak italian to them. I haven't heard it since my grandmother died, because once she died there was no reason for my father or his brother and sisters to speak anything other than english. Listening to the italian PM chick brings back memories.

Lot to questions to ask the oncologist. I had the same type and it was stage three, main tumor upper left lobe (left lung has two lobes and right has three) and six lymph nodes diseased as well. That was diagnosed in October, 2013. Surgery, radiation and chemo and here I sit, 9 years later. They have made strides since then. Here's hoping.

Anything honda or acura has the Methuselah gene. I ran an acura TL up to 260K, gave it to a friend in need of a car, he ran it up to 307K and sold it. We had a smaller acura that we ran up to 150K. It was a spare car. We had it 17 years, and only put one battery in it, and a radiator. Gave it to the wife's niece, she ran it to over 200K and sold it when she started having kids and needed something bigger. Wife has an RDX now, it has 90K on it, and not a thing went wrong with it so far.

I'd never really given them much consideration outside what I've hear about alpaca yarn in knitting communities. Yeah, I bought a 1988 Accord new, and ten years later sold it for 10% of the original purchase price with 240k miles on it. Got a 1998 Civic, sold it with 205k miles on it. My 2003 Civic Hybrid had about 210k miles on it before I sold it to a family member h I didn't want to deal with getting new batteries. He still has it.

I currently have a 2002 Accord inherited from my mother. I has about 150k miles on it.

Only trouble I had was with the hybrid; it needed a new transmission. That year's trannies (like all tranny's? Lol) had problems.
