The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“In their disregard for human life, in their determination to defile national symbols, they are children of the same foul spirit and it is our continuing duty to confront them,” Former President George W. Bush

Quote II

“It’s hard to believe that this was an inadvertent error or a minor matter of methodology. More likely, someone in the University knew that there was serious misrepresentation afoot. If so, who was it?” Professor Michael Thaddeus

Quote III

“To see this headline on September 11 is appalling. Why is justice such an elusive concept in America today? Will the heinous among us never be held accountable? This is an outrage, and to read about it on this sacred day is an insult to the fallen,” James Woods

Another day. Another day to loathe our federal judiciary and the cowards who operate it.

Fox News reported on this yesterday afternoon — with heavy irony on the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. CBS News’ Catherine Herridge confirms this morning that the Pentagon has opened plea-deal negotiations with the five masterminds of the worst terror attacks on America. In exchange for life sentences, the five will drop all appeals and agree “substantial sentences” in American prisons.

Fucking revolting.

Too little, too late when the horse is out of the barn.

The Department of Justice approves of one of Donald Trump’s two candidates for special master to review documents seized from the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Prosecutors said they accepted Raymond Dearie, former U.S. district court judge, according to a court filing on Monday. Dearie and DOJ picks Barbara Jones and Thomas Griffith “each have substantial judicial experience” making them viable candidates for special master, the document said.

Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime

WASHINGTON — Justice Department officials have seized the phones of two top advisers to former President Donald J. Trump and blanketed his aides with about 40 subpoenas in a substantial escalation of the investigation into his efforts to subvert the 2020 election, people familiar with the inquiry said on Monday.

The seizure of the phones, coupled with a widening effort to obtain information from those around Mr. Trump after the 2020 election, represent some of the most aggressive steps the department has taken thus far in its criminal investigation into the actions that led to the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob.

Perhaps Europeans should burn UN staff to keep warm this winter and in winters to come.

Freeze for Global Agenda: U.N. Demands European Nations Do Not Return to Fossil Fuels over Energy Crisis

The world is grappling with the worst energy crisis in generations however the U.N. has warned Europe a return to fossil fuels in response to soaring prices and winter shortages must not be considered under any circumstances.

Russia has reduced supplies of gas to Europe since its invasion of Ukraine, sending fuel prices soaring, while supply chain issues in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic have also hit deliveries.

A look at current culture.................

What is the protocol for tipping?

“So yesterday I went to a restaurant with somebody that I love, and we decided that this time we would turn our duo into a trio and we invited one of our friends,” she starts. “When we sat at the table, none of the servers showed up and one of the managers came by and told us that they would not like to serve us anymore.”

I think if management remembers you to kick your ass out of the store there is more to the story than the lack of tipping.

Being the cynical misanthropic Cob that I am. I don't believe this douche wasn't aware of the fees and could have canceled anytime.

‘What is the need for a small order fee?’: DoorDash customer calls out ‘unnecessary’ fees resulting in $23 milk tea order

You pay for convenience.

It's pretty basic and straight forward: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; What don't they understand?

It is Yeshiva University that is arguing it "cannot comply with that order because doing so would violate its sincere religious beliefs about how to form its undergraduate students Torah values."

"To avoid the irreparable harm that would come to Yeshiva, its students, and its community from the government-enforced establishment of a Yeshiva Price Alliance club, applicants respectfully request an immediate stay…"

Welcome to Mis. Hum's. Gun Emporium Fabulous Emporium.

NEW YORK (AP) — Payment processor Visa Inc. said Saturday that it plans to start separately categorizing sales at gun shops, a major win for gun control advocates who say it will help better track suspicious surges of gun sales that could be a prelude to a mass shooting.

But the decision by Visa, the world’s largest payment processor, will likely provoke the ire of gun rights advocates and gun lobbyists, who have argued that categorizing gun sales would unfairly flag an industry when most sales do not lead to mass shootings. It joins Mastercard and American Express, which also said they plan to move forward with categorizing gun shop sales.

What utter Bullshit.

I had seen this last night after I had posted the Sunday ONT and saved it for today. I'm still using it although Ace spoofed on it earlier.

LONDON — In his first official royal decree, King Charles has replaced Meghan and Harry in the line of succession with two of the late Queen's corgis.

"Fluffy here shall immediately assume the title of Duke," said Charles, presenting the corgi with a scepter. "There now! Who's a good future King of England?"

The nation of England erupted into celebration upon hearing the news. "After the sadness of the past week, it feels good to have something to be happy about," said citizen Gerald Funderburk. "The thought of the monarchy falling into the hands of Harry or Meghan, those blithering idiots…we can all rest a little easier tonight knowing the kingdom will be in good hands. Or paws."

Unlike Megan, Corgis are cuddly.

Why not just jack up the price of holsters, cleaning supplies, and miscellaneous gun paraphernalia and then toss in a free gun with every purchase?

Then you aren't selling guns, just giving away promotional materials...

When I was in high school, we weren't allowed to sell tickets to plays (didn't have the rights for that). But we could sell buttons that had the logo of the play, which then came with a complimentary seat to watch the show.

112 What a piece of shit Monkey W. Shrub turned out to be, huh?

I watched, in real time, as the response to two dozen Muslims hijacking four planes with box-cutters was to make sure that no American could have anything sharper than a screw-driver on a plane. All while we built new agencies, and expanding existing ones, to monitor the financial and political actions of Americans. All while the guy nominally in charge insisted that we couldn't look at the one common thread of the attackers, Islam, and conclude that maybe the problem was Islam.

And I watched while people clapped as all these new rules were put in place. Never considering how these new forces could be used against Americans, especially since they were already by definition aimed against Americans.

Shrub was just an expression of that era of America. A naive, too eager to support a post Cold War military industrial complex. Because that shit couldn't possibly go wrong.

170 BTW, Azerbaijan has decided to take this opportunity to invade Armenia.

Armenia's an ally of Russia, who is otherwise occupied, and Azerbaijan figures that the West will hardly boycott its oil exports.

But don't worry, Armenia has a defender!

@RepAdamSchiff
Azerbaijan has reportedly shelled the homes of innocent civilians in Artsakh and is now attacking Armenia’s border.

An egregious violation of the ceasefire and direct attack on Armenia’s sovereignty.

The U.S. must halt all assistance to Azerbaijan - immediately and permanently.

All this is going to do, and I do it now with my butcher and other vendors that I really like - is make me take fifteen minutes to go to the bank and get cash. One time, one new teller asked me for a reason. I told her "hookers and blow". The old supervisor lady laughed.

I've watched many of Trump's rallies and heard him speak numerous times since the 2020 election and I've never heard hims say that the cheating in the 2020 election is the prime reason to vote for him in 2024. Of course he talks about it a lot because if we don't stop the cheating then it doesn't matter what the issues are or who runs.

Trump talks about all the things Biden is doing to destroy the country including inflation, crime, open borders, failed foreign policy and on and on. But election rigging is at least as important as any of them. If we can't win nothing else matters.

No. Not true at all. Look up "red-lining". The idea that banks would add extra points, or simply not lend, to certain zip codes.

On one hand, I get it. Bad loans in bad parts of town are bad. Yet, the mentality was "equal access for all". If that's the law of the land, then equal access for gun buyers and pot buyers. No stigmas from something like a "code". You only put a special code on these purchases to set the stage for something else later.

And FUCK Visa or MasterCard and their Corporate Rights. Just on general principles.

262 Trump talks about all the things Biden is doing to destroy the country including inflation, crime, open borders, failed foreign policy and on and on. But election rigging is at least as important as any of them. If we can't win nothing else matters.

Plus it's important to remind everyone that the disastrous Biden regime is not what we as a nation chose. It was imposed on us by Democrats (and some crooked GOPe types in Georgia) on behalf of their careerist government clients, and they alone deserve the blame. It is vital that those behind Biden be permanently seen as the enemy by as many citizens as possible.

Of course we want to know. Is it DeepState, or China? Some link (from JJ?) saying it was common knowledge the Merkel was a Russia Asset. .. and it makes sense.

Navarro said he had concerns about a Russia/Germany future alliance ... that is way above my paygrade, but Germany being dependent on Russian energy, and Poland being a target of those two in the past ... idk, maybe our world view of "peace in our time" is a little delusional.

That Tucker video (from today?) was scary ... 35-50 Trump people raided, phones collected, warrants not shown. Police State is here, and it is more real than our "normalcy bias" can accept. tick tock. Nobody is coming to save us.

Wishful thinking. iIt's hard to not have it on your mind when you go to the grocery store once a week. When they talk about the percent of inflation, that is a bit abstract. But when you go to the grocery store and see the price of eggs, the price of produce, the price of meat, that's concrete. I have enough income to cover the cost increases, and I only buy groceries for myself. I can't imagine what this is like for people with moderate incomes who have children to feed.

Worst "westerners" are the Victoria/Vancouver Island-ites. One gets the impression that they expect the drivers to tip *them*?

339 Ukrainian forces/elements have been launching attacks against targets inside Russia for months. Including "conventional" helicopter raids on fuel facilities in Belgorod, rocket attacks on airfields near Rostov in the first weeks of the war, and what seem likely to be sabotage attacks in other areas.

In a striking statement at the end of his daily brief months ago, after the attack on fuel facilities in Belgorod, the MOD spokesman said that continuation of such attacks risked Russian response directed "at the center of decision-making" in Ukraine. Oops. There's been nothing of the sort, of course, and this phrase has become a dark and acid stand-by bit of sarcasm for those (many) in the public square in Russia calling for various kinds of escalation.

Before it migrated east of the Mississippi, way back in college, someone brought some back from the west. It wasn't very good because, like you said, watery. We didn't understand the hype.

Another guy had an in-law at the Aussie Embassy in D.C. Brought a case of Foster's. Now Foster's may be crap in Oz but back in the mid '70s, considering the state of American beer then, that stuff was kick ass.

442 Dunno if true, though I think it probably is, but Niven's story from the Battle of the Bulge is hard to beat. Skorzeny's commandos in US uniforms, and adept rumor-mongering, had the Allies very jumpy, and checkpoints were set up. Standard for the time, simple questions would be used as screening mechanisms.

When Niven - a liaison for Monty's command, I think - drove up to a checkpoint, the US sentries challenged him with "who won the 1941 World Series?".

To which he allegedly replied - "I haven't the foggiest idea. But I did star with Ginger Rogers in Bachelor Mother." The sentry recognized him and that was that.

Certainly the best checkpoint answer in history, if true.

The super glue was safely removed with me none the worse for wear while I did manage to assemble the nose gear well on the F-14A after adding some of the myriad piping that clutters that area.

Now I must add similar piping inside both main gear wells. Hopefully I shall avoid gluing myself to the workbench again.

Posted by: jim (in Kalifornia) at September 13, 2022 01:37 AM (ynpvh)

One thing I learned working in restaurants as a kid: Never give a zero tip for bad service, or even a penny. The server will think you're just a non-tipping, or crappy-tipping, asshole.

The proper tip when you get shitty service is 2 pennies, as in giving your server "your two cents' worth."

Also, never stiff the wait staff for the kitchen fuckups. Too many people do that, too. If the food is shitty, talk to the manager but don't stiff your server as they have no control over that problem.

Oh, the server knew quite well I was unhappy with his attitude. Especially when I told him after his "NO, YOU ORDERED THIS", "No, I did not.". He was an f'n hothead, and it would have shown some sense to keep his mouth closed, than remove all doubt he was an idiot.

One of Publius' friends had deer devour his seedlings, and the second planting, too. He'll be putting up electric fencing next year because it really pisses you off when the bastards take out entire rows.

And because of election shenanigans country-wide, we're not voting ourselves out of the problem, either. All one has to do is look at They the Government's over-the-top reaction to Trump beating Hillary plus all the subsequent bullshit he's undergone, both in office and now out of office.

Mannix episode is concluded. It was the old evil twin sister of the rich heiress ploy. They kidnap the real heiress and substitute the evil twin.

Mannix figures it all out, as Mannix always does. In the end, he's rescuing the real heiress. Two fuckers in a Jeep come after him with a rifle. They fire several shots and miss. Mannix turns around, pulls his revolver, and without even aiming, takes one of 'em out, who then falls over and knocks the driver away. Jeep crashes.

Mannix didn't shoot from the hip, really, sort of just brought it up and fired without aiming. Mannix is good. One Tough Son of a Bitch.

599 Talking with friends at a local restaurant about the internet and all the crazy's on line. In the olden days, all we had was newspapers and TV/radio news, and believed everything we were told. Now every dumb fuck has an outlet to tell the world what he thinks. Before that it was letters to the editor or the men's room wall. Reading about the free blowjob, just call this number. We were at least entertained, while using the toilet.

Yes. Not a fun disease.

One of the many bad things that Wuhan Flu has exposed in our current culture is the pathetic fear of everything in far too many people.

Imagine what it would have been like with something like polio!

601 @587

This is the point where everyone should be asking themselves, what was the point of all of this!?

The voters in New Zealand voted Jacinda back in power in a landslide election, they also willingly gave up their guns when the government mandated it, the people of New Zealand are Serfs not citizens, there will be no questioning any of this from them.

Major difference: it really is a danger to children.

I asked Mom and Dad about what it was like when they were kids. They said the parents were afraid, but not... frenzied like with Covid. Then they started arguing over whether Mom or Dad had a cousin who had it.

606 The quote from GW Bush, king of the retards lost me in this post. That retard's name should never be seen in anything other than a derogatory light on this web site.

607 I am making $85 an hour working from home. i was greatly surprised at the same time as my neighbour advised me she changed into averaging $95 however I see the way it works now. I experience mass freedom now that I'm my non-public boss. That is what I do.. http://www.Profit97.com
