" being glib wasn't the same thing as being intelligent"
this is why Graham thinks Biden is such a great guy ... for example. Even guys like Biden generally learned to be "glib" ... generally pleasant in a social framework. And "polite society" is nice ... until the GOPe for instance, is glib and polite with the criminal element of oligarch vipers that are maliciously overthrowing our Land of Liberty. But those cocktail parties are the place to be for movers and shakers in NYDC. A bit like the social house in the John Wick movies, where the villains party together in safety and style. Reminds me of the baby who didn't talk. Never said, "Mama" or "Papa". Got to two years old, never said, "Bye bye", or "Woof". Extensive medical evaluation revealed no hearing deficits, no brain malformations, no lingual innervation abnormalities. Finest specialists and high-level schools were consulted, still nothing.
Then one day when he was 10 years old, while sitting at the dinner table out of nowhere he said, "Please pass the potatoes." His parents were overjoyed. They cried tears of joy and hugged him saying, "Oh son! You can talk! You can talk! Why now, after all these years?" Son replied, "Never had anything worth saying before." It's like when Trump nailed RubioBot 3000 with, "you only have 5 answer for any question."
You could almost see the gears smoking as Rubio tried to respond outside of his 5 presets. Trump uses the teleprompter a lot. But no living politician ever went off script as much or as long as he does every time he speaks. And none of them would be able to circle back up to the topic as Trump does. That's another reason they hate him: Their carefully crafted image of intelligent, polished speakers is exposed as cardboard in comparison. Kamela is the norm, not the exception. A lot of introverts are not great at speaking or conversation. But they often have a very interesting inner life when you can get them to open up a bit.
I deal with a lot of students who are somewhere on the spectrum. They can really struggle to communicate effectively, but they always have interesting thoughts and ideas. == I found this to be the case with the kids I have met with these issues. They tend to prefer their inner lives to the external. Getting them to verbalize tends to require some motivation to engage with the external. If they get enough feedback from it, sparks interest and away they go. Autistic son - did not have language, just used words a labels. Until he was about 7 years old. He saw a little animatronic teddy bear that told the story Twas the Night before Christmas - Which was voiced by Dennis Prager. The little bear's mouth moved and his head turned and he moved the little book he "read" from. So number one son, was taken by it. Keep pushing the button to make it go. Wore out a couple of sets of battery's. Memorized the whole thing. Performed it flawlessly at school from beginning to end astonishing his teachers. Glib people can be fun if they're glibness is laid over a foundation of knowledge.
That way they don't get boring repeating the same schtick over and over. Biden for instance has always been a lunkhead. Watch his interactions with voters and the press, he's got at best 2-3 remarks of glibness and then the lunkhead comes out, usually bullying or threatening or challenging them to push contests. All of which is to distract from his lunkheadedness. I think that's why Biden is always bitching about "smart guys". They strip him of his weak-ass 3 remark deep glibness armor with ease. That photo of scattered "documents" and cover sheets underscores the FBI/DOJ core claim and dilemma:
"We have the evidence that Trump "stole" or mishandled secret documents, but nobody is allowed to see the evidence." Evidence that nobody is allowed to see is no evidence at all. Combine that with Trump's presidential prerogatives, and the FBI/DOJ having had access previously and not objecting to his possession, and there's simply no case to be made. Speaking of physics and physical chemistry (and in 1900 to 1940, they weren’t far apart), I recommend the book “The Making of the Atomic Bomb” by Richard Rhodes. He does an amazing job of walking the reader through the rush of discoveries about the structure and behavior of the atom in the early 20th century. He also describes the personalities involved, including the amazing depth of education that a scientist of that time would be expected to have. It’s far more interesting than one would expect for the subject material.

"Yes, the opposite has been true at times, with Dems doubting the results."
it is not quite the opposite ... I mean Dems do cheat, and have stolen elections. They run the process, and in 2020 clearly were blocking the watchers, along with multiple other abnormalities. Dems also have the whole DeepState helping them cheat, and the media. So when Dems think Trump stole 2016, they have to believe trash from the DeepState, like Trump Russia and Putin is in the machines. Then in 2020 they have to ignore the Zuck-bucks and the 2000 mules, and so much more. But China likely was in the machines, they did have internet accessibility ... The Dems are finally awakening to the fact that their whole worldview is exposed to the world. Our MSM has played its part in covering up Dem malfeasance for years, but that curtain has been ripped and torn and burned to pieces. All that is left for the Left is naked power. And that won't be enough, either. Everything the Dems touch corrodes to uselessness. Political power in the US requires the legitimacy of courts of justice and free, fair elections. It's time for a change, and if the Power of Change is denied to the sovereign will of the people, there will be consequences.
The preamble to the US Constitution, I believe, starts with the words "We the People", not "We the Democratic Party". Posted by: mrp at September 01, 2022 12:08 PM (6eRlp) 302
