The Morning Report — 8/29/22

fascistsjoeygreatdic.jpg

Good morning kids. Start of a new week and, with all due respect to Spike Milligan, it's a goon show all the way down. And it starts right at the top. While Joe "Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants" Biden is turning into a vegetable so fast he's tripping over the tillers and rhizomes emerging from his trouser legs as he shambles lost on the White House lawn, it never ceases to amaze me how lucid he gets when he is hurling invective at the American people. When it comes to that, he doesn't need cue cards from Kalorama. He speaks directly from his pitch black heart:

Biden told a group of Democratic donors in Maryland Thursday that “What we’re seeing now is the beginning or the death knell of an extreme MAGA philosophy. It’s not just Trump, it’s the entire philosophy that underpins the – I’m going to say something, it’s like semi-fascism.”

Later, during a campaign rally, condemned “MAGA Republicans” who he said could not accept the results of the 2020 presidential election. Biden also proclaimed that “I respect conservative Republicans. I don’t respect these MAGA Republicans.” He noted during the same speech that “There are not many real Republicans anymore” though he did mention he liked the kind of Republican who Democrats “can deal with” (translation: walk all over) like Republican-In-Name-Only Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan. . .

. . . When he was asked the next day what he meant by “semi-fascism,” Biden demurred:

[Biden, smirking]: "You know what I mean."

Aside from the creepy, Aqualung-on-little-girls vibe and halitosis, project much, Joey? Here was an interesting observation:

For nearly two years now, the left has insisted that elections are safe and secure. Anyone who even suggested otherwise was a dangerous election denier—a threat to democracy! If you said the 2020 election was stolen or rigged, then you might have found yourself banned from social media.

So, why did Joe Biden say, during a rally Thursday, that Democrats have a plan to make sure no one ever steals an election “again?"

“If we elect two more senators, we keep the House and Democrats, we’re going to get a lot of unfinished business we’re going to get done. Folks, look, we’ll codify Roe v. Wade. We’ll ban, we’ll ban assault weapons. We’ll protect Social Security and Medicare. We’ll pass universal pre-K. We’ll restore the Childcare Tax Credit. We’ll protect voting rights. We’ll pass election reform and make sure no one, no one, ever has the opportunity to steal an election again,” Biden told the crowd.

Right after they steal it in '22 and '24 and probably forever. That is if 2020 wasn't the last election, legitimate/semi-legitimate or otherwise that we will ever see again. Rush Limbaugh of blessed memory, who spent a third of a century accurately predicting the future called it:

They resent the whole premise behind elections. Look, they don’t believe they should have to persuade anybody to agree with them. Therefore, they don’t believe in campaigns. They don’t believe in the free, open exchange of ideas. There aren’t any legitimate ideas outside of their own.

They don’t believe in giving legitimacy to anybody who is not already on their side. So if this is who they are psychologically — if they have no interest in persuading people, if they have no interest in acquiring power as a result of massive public support — then who are they? What are they? They want power simply to have it. They don’t want it to derive from the people. . .

[The Democrats] resent the hell out of it. And in their world, it’s the one thing standing in their way: This need, this requirement to win elections. And I’m just telling you: As soon as they can figure out a way to eliminate elections, they will do it, ’cause they resent the hell out of it. . .

. . . They’re doing it in front of our faces.” They really are. They are attempting to win elections without broad public support. That’s what they’re trying to do. That’s just another way of phrasing what they’re doing. How do you win elections without broad public support?

The Democrats got rid of elections by stealing the 2020 election for the President of the United States of America. President Trump had the greatest win in US history with 75 million votes, a record, and they stole it.

Rush always used to say, during the outrages we endured during the Obama reign of error (which now seem like a walk in the park by comparison to the events of the past two years) whenever he would talk a caller off the ledge, "I'll tell you when it's time to panic, and now is not that time." Well, if an in-your-face stolen national election, perpetrated with the willing help of everyone from local thugs up to the heads of our national security and law enforcement agencies doesn't give you palpitations, you have less brain function than Joey.

If that wasn't proof positive that we have crossed more Rubicon's than Orlando Cepeda crossed himself when he came to the plate we have actual political prisoners still rotting away in the Garland Archipelago since January of 2021 for the high crime of being duped into an FBI entrapment scam, and the even more heinous offense of exercising the now defunct right of free speech. And that's not even the half of it.

A lawyer for several of the January 6 political prisoners says his clients are being “tortured” by a system of “anarcho-tyranny” that considers them to be a “subhuman, sub-constitutional class of people.” In an interview this week, Joseph D. McBride said he is building a case to sue the federal government for millions of dollars over the abuses his clients have suffered. . .

. . . “They are gaslighting the entire American public,” McBride said. “They are calling these people extremists and terrorists, but the extremism and the terrorism lies with them! . . ."

. . . “For the first time in U.S. history, the political party in power is hunting down and jailing members of the opposition party for political dissidence, and not only that, they’re torturing them in jail,” McBride said. “This is the stuff of dictatorships.”

He said he has two clients who are both currently being tortured in jail: Ryan Taylor Nichols of Longview, Texas, and Christopher Quaglin of New Jersey.

The attorney explained that both of these men are routinely thrown in solitary confinement for long periods of time, which violates international norms, and when their advocates on the outside speak out against the abuse, they get treated even worse. . .

. . . “We have to fight and we’re made to look like outliers and nut jobs because we are advocating for the truth,” the lawyer told Horowitz. He said the reason the regime has been able to get away with so many violations of human rights is because they were able to label Trump supporters as subhumans.

“They were able to label an entire political class as problematic and they used the full prosecutorial apparatus of the United States government to descend upon them and their families to send ‘shock and awe’ into middle America, the Southwest, and the West,” McBride said.

As Debra Heine notes in her excellent piece, about the only politicians who are doing whatever they can to help these detainees are Louie Gohmert and Marjorie Taylor Green. Yes, that Marjorie Taylor Green was SWATed twice in two days. Do I really have to list the litany of attempted and actual attacks on what can now only be referred to as Enemies of the State? And then there's the Gestapo raid on Mar-a-Lago where the only thing not redacted were the spaces between words and the odd old fashioned pronoun.

Friend and friend of the blog Michael Walsh laments the shredding of our Constitution as well as ponders what can be done to restore it or if that it is even capable of being restored in his latest essay:

What's in our future? Civil War? Partition? Amicable divorce? In the meantime, let me leave you with this, from my debut novel, the controversial Exchange Alley, written after my return from Moscow in 1991 and published in 1997 but set in the period just before the end of the Soviet Union.

There is an unmistakable odor about socialist countries that pervades every public place. It is a strong animal smell, composed in equal parts of sweat and unwashed clothes, Russian cigarettes, cheap perfume, piss, disinfectant, and leaded gasoline; in the heyday of Communism, every socialist country smelled the same. But in the mother church of Marxism-Leninism, the reek was stronger, sharper, more pervasive. It was the ur-stench of the Soviet system, the stink of a dying animal and with each passing year it got stronger and more difficult for foreigners, even fellow travelers in the west, to ignore.

Smell that here at home now? I thought you might.

There are a few things in play that, for me, indicate that we are well past the point of no return. First, an entire governmental bureaucracy that the Founders warned against is now well entrenched and at the heart of our subjugation. To call it corrupt would be a misnomer since at this point it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do: repress our freedom and rob us of our wealth. Second, at least a third of the nation willingly supports or has been duped into supporting our own enslavement. Third, there is no political opposition party that has the power nor more crucially the desire to do what Donald Trump attempted virtually singlehandedly to bring about in his first and so far only term.

Finally, there's the question of compromise and common ground. You cannot have reconciliation or even accommodation with a political entity and its constituents who view you as an evil to be eradicated. Do those in power actually believe this or is it merely a dodge to preserve their power base? At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter.

I don't think they have work platforms at the Pad for access.

Here's the funny thing. That exhaustive German mortality analysis shows the Coof itself didn't cause much excess mortality. It simply pulled expected deaths forward. That is, it killed off very old and sick people who would've died from something else in a few months anyway. That is clear from the data, for Germany at least.

Like Eric Hoffer pointed out, the greatest threat to Communist outfits after their initial fuckwits get killed off, and many of those are 'Jews', usually, is the complaint not that it's Communist, but it's not Communist enough.
Do some research, and what you will find is the ComBlok spent the vast majority of their time fighting internal enemies trying to deny human reality and wanted it to MORE Communist.

You could make an argument that it is not the first time, and that some imprisonments during the War Between the States represented a similar condition, or that Japanese internment during WWII did. There is a major, key distinguishing characteristic in that both of those - if you want to make the argument - happened during periods of war and we are not in such a period now and that they were not purely political actions.

What's happening today is a purely political action and devoid of even a fig leaf of military justification. It's about domestic political power and social control. Nothing more.

What is the difference between "partition" and "amicable divorce?" Level of peacefulness, with a partition being violent and a divorce being less violent? If that's the distinction, then what's the difference between a civil war and a partition? Is it that a civil war, properly defined, is when multiple domestic parties vie for control of the state apparatus whereas a partition would be akin to the War Between the States in that it would be a independence war resulting in two states (or more) upon success?

How long does "amicable" last? One of the problems I have with the "national divorce" concept is that I disagree that it will survive long-term. A "divorce" will allow redrawing of boundaries and arms production, but it is a stay of execution for a war. War is the inevitable outcome of divorce. That stay may be useful and valuable, but divorce is not a war-elimination mechanism, it is a war-deferring mechanism.

Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion

That's been clear the world over from the earliest data on the coof. Your % probability of dying from covid hews remarkably close to 10^(age/20) / 2000.

That's 5% chance of death if you're 80, 0.5% if you're 60, 0.05% if you're 40, and so on.

If you've been vaccinated in the last 6-12 months it's roughly equivalent to subtracting 20 years from your age in that formula (i.e. reducing your death probability by an order of magnitude). (I am not making any statement about other potential side effects of the vaccine).

Unless this thing mutates milder, or we get vaccines that work long-term (seems unlikely to me), coof is going to be another thing to add to the list of major things that kill you when you're old: heart disease, cancer, and now coof.

Mediation is right out. Invasion is unlikely, though foreign intervention is not. If a war pops off in this country, it will be decided externally. With us distracted with each other, some external power is going to come to the conclusion that if they intervene - say a nuke or three on the capital city and major production centers on one side or the other - they can end it favorably for themselves.

My dad does consulting with NASA. He told me the contrast between Space X and NASA this way:

NASA presented Space X with a problem: They needed a way to hook up two free floating craft in the weightlessness of space. NASA's solution has always been a complex series of systems about getting one thing to slot perfectly into another (there's a scene that involves this in Apollo 13).

Space X used a hook. Developed it in a fraction of the time and for a fraction of the cost.

And, this is how they treat a previously good Democrat, Elon Musk, when he strays just a degree or two off the Stalinist line. The rest of us, obviously, will be in Garland Gulag.

You've also, however, got an extremely loud faction that view the United States as indivisible. They view the entire geographical entity as, somehow, "theirs". A suicide pact, if you will. And those people will not accept a United States divided up.

So, we'll be Balkanized after collapse. Repeats of stuff like the Kansas - Missouri Border War. And it won't be purely based on Left vs. Right. It'll be based on "You Can't Leave" vs. "Watch Me".

Elon and SpaceX got the contract for the HLS, Human landing system, for the next planned Moon landing (the one that will get the first person of woman and person color on the Moon, vomit).

It's a modified Starship. The plan is a hybrid between Earth orbit rendezvous and lunar orbit rendezvous. Elon will launch the HLS. Other Startships will tank it up in orbit, and fuel it up for a lunar orbit insertion.

It will get in lunar orbit and loiter. The SLS will launch the Orion with a crew, which will get in lunar orbit and dock with the HLS, which will then land the crew on the Moon.

They'll do shit, then. Planned landing locations are at the lunar south pole. The Shoemaker Crater is an attractive spot. They think there's water lurking around there.

172 Finally, there's the question of compromise and common ground. You cannot have reconciliation or even accommodation with a political entity and its constituents who view you as an evil to be eradicated.

That street runs both ways. The main difference is that many of us not of the Left can detail the long chain of abuses, specific instances of evil, and timeline their march from a Constitutional Republic to Lord of the Flies.

Often times, rather than going through this unending list, we use terms like "Communism", "Tyranny", "Totalitarianism", "Fascism" or some other historical label that fit a particular approach by The Enemy. We can back up those words and might even be frustrated that there isn't a word (outside of Scripture) that appropriately labels this evil.

OTOH, they just use those words to characterize us without even knowing what those words mean, and certainly without any substance or backing.

At the end, those words just motivate both bases to work to end this relationship.

For me: "Days of Noah" and "Maranatha".

What's odd about coof is that exponential formula holds down to newborns. So a newborn has essentially zero probability of death from coof. That's not true of things like flu, which kills little kids at a significantly higher rate than, say, teens. (coof is also particularly deadly in the elderly compared to flu).

This is why vaccinating kids is such a scam.

Is that contextualized? I wonder only because some "social justice terms" - outside of the social justice context - have meaning. For example, a non-trivial amount of the economic and market press output will contain the word "equity."

A long time ago, they used to hang the Shuttle horizontally in the VAB and drop the landing gear as a last test before mating to the VAB. Well one day somebody wasn't paying attention and the Shuttle was too close to the floor and the gear ended up bouncing off the floor causing all kinds of mayhem and paperwork.

So there was a big meeting with the design engineers where NASA wanted to know what could be developed to keep this from happening again. Someone in the back said "Get a stick!". There was some very minor chuckling which gave way to embarrassment. Then after about an hour NASA settled on developing a sonic pinger/rangefinder much like the early Kodak cameras.

End cost for three units $50K each.

222 That American Greatness article about the Supreme Court backs into the uncomfortable idea (for many) that we always run into when trying to see where it all began to go wrong - the original intent and design of the Constitution died when the North won the Civil War. The Government we've had since then is the one envisioned by the 14th Amendment, the amendment that rewrote the entire Constitution - Total Central Control, Birthright Citizenship, absolute Federal Supremacy in all things. One can argue that the North had to do what it did, but one cannot argue that the Constitution survived that war.

The idea is that if the GOP picks up, say, 50 seats, there will be so many GOP-e squishes swept along that McCarthy will be able to ignore the MAGA caucus and run things anyway he likes. BUT if there is only a 15 - 20 seat pickup, the MAGA caucus will hold the balance of power; nothing will pass unless they agree to back it.

Where it curiously diverges from the usual definition of fascism is it's devotion not to nationalism, but instead to globalism. But in this case "globalism" is really the WEF-inspired western European elites. Same, but different (as we used to say).

They are losing more conservative voters, no doubt. But people with means who lived in the city but want to stay in the state are moving to the suburbs, and a lot of them have a brand new attitude. COVID was the last straw for some of these people who have finally realized that voting for one party like its a team sport took away their choices and their power to change things. They are ultimately losing population and representation. How that plays out in the end, nobody knows. I suppose some people are so far gone they will vote for their own destruction due to a blind fealty for a cult, and their accompanying aversion to the truth. But I wonder how far, and how wide that swath of ignorance will run. As you get poorer, you become less safe, and you have less opportunity to improve things, often your political shibboleths and sine qua nons quickly evaporate. Culture would dictate that only happens if one side has the strength, and wealth, to dominate the other. Because there is very little cultural commonality between the Great Plains and the SouthEast. And once these bonds are broken again, I don't see anybody going along with subsidizing Great Plains corn, or absorbing the NorthEast simply to protect their manufacturing via tariffs, ever again.

China also has fairly diverse internal culture, until recently not even having a common language.

I believe a successful conqueror will emerge from the South and unify the center, after which east and west are mostly a matter of time.

330 And we've got a huge crash of the dollar, just waiting to happen. The only reason it's still alive is the globe can't conceive of anywhere else to go with their investments. My bet is a good and cold winter will sharpen their minds and focus. Yeah, I think I'll keep my bet on "collapse".

I have a different form of pessimism. When war gaming out an EMP attack, the question is rarely asked "Why would anyone want to disable the mechanism for controlling people and things?" The same reasoning should be the first question about collapsing the FUSD. Who benefits? the WEF has already told us two things: they want to kill as many of us as possible, and those who remain suffer as slaves to the oligarchy.

But that only works when there is a currency they can control. I submit that the G7 nations are in a death pact that keeps their respective currencies within a rather narrow band of equity. When one goes down, the others are expected to enact a policy to similarly bring down the value of their own currency. Trump didn't play that game so he was forced into these Trillion Dollar Swindles (C19 Relief) to keep the FUSD from dominating other currencies.

They also all have strong regionalist sentiment. China also has fairly diverse internal culture, until recently not even having a common language.

Spain has its own secessionist movement - the Catalonians vote to leave at every opportunity. The Basques aren't far behind. Italy and Germany are only united recently, in the global scheme. Same as China.

You want the United States to continue as one country. You've made that extremely clear, not only today - but over the course of several years. Doesn't mean that's destined to occur.

You have to separate the mouth-breather union voters who would vote for a shoe if it ran as a Democrat, from people who have means and may lean socially liberal. The former will probably never change how they vote out of sheer ignorance. The latter, given the right choices and exposed to the alternative more then likely will. We have people in the county now who moved from the city. They have kids in the schools and see that is the product of local politics and values, which are carried by the Republican officeholders. They actually realized they moved here to escape the city cesspool and have come to the conclusion that it is the product not necessarily of party politics, but social mores and values. We actually have a lot of true independents that vote issues instead of party. I frankly have no problem with that because it keeps the e-GOP down

Are you missing the point that many countries exist for a long time despite longstanding regionalist/secessionist sentiment? Spain was once many kingdoms. Nationalism as a unifying force is relatively modern(though somewhat responsible for Italy and Germany unifying). The existence of states in France and Spain illustrate that the ability to lose a battle or war without being fully annexed is important.

At most there are 3 defensible countries out of CONUS, and most likely the middle one would eat the other two.

Yes. But there was a breach of the tank. In the case of Artemis:

"NASA engineers found that the crack was actually in the insulating foam on the flange, not in the rocket's metal structure. "That ice that formed is essentially air that's being chilled by the tank that gets trapped inside of a crack in the foam but not the actual tank," Nail said."

So long as they contain the liquid hydrogen, they are good. I think they can extract it, or at least lower the tanks to a level where the temperature will not cause expansion and breach.

It's not that they are forever stable. "The empire, long divided, must unite; long united, must divide. Thus it has ever been." to use a famous quote.

Geography tends to determine where long-lived polities have their borders. China goes through periods of being many regions and long periods of being unified.

By today's trends, from every major nation that's attempting to project power, you are absolutely incorrect. There is no indication that, after a collapsed United States, any of the resulting powers would have the ability to project power and subject another unwilling region.

Even assuming they would want to. It'll go similar to like I said, new versions of the old Kansas Missouri border war. Vigilantes who have it in their head that everyone has to re-unite. Most of the country doesn't want to. That's the ugly, unsaid truth. Hochul told New York republicans to leave. Most people outside New York wonder why they stay.

Gene Cernan, there, singing "I was strolling on the Moon one day" was the last man on the Moon. Harrison Schmidt had gone back in first, and so he was the last one.

You'll see Cernan in that clip doing the "bunny hop". You didn't walk on the Moon, you hopped in that fashion.

Much exhaustive research has been done on the best means of locomotion for humans in restrictive space suits. It has been proven that "bunny hop" was the most efficient means of lunar locomotion.

Ponder this: this was not studied or even contemplated. The Moonwalkers intuited this from the time they set foot. The Moonwalkers instinctively figured out the most efficient means of locomotion on the lunar surface.

This was always part of my argument of why we needed to burn the GOP down to the ground and start over. As long as the various heads were still in power (and we have only limited effect there) they will still be able to steer things the way they want. They could still do that as long as they were elected (for those that are elected) but staying within the party also still gives them access to the revenue streams Trump is the lifeblood of.

It is not an easy solution and not without drawbacks.

Continual border conflict is usually addressed by invasion and then either forced vassalization or annexation. We had something similar happen with the American Indians.

I don't see it as likely that any of the new states will mount as much resistance as Ukraine's population, and there isn't much prospect for foreign resupply. But even if we were to assume there's strong desire for independence from Texas by Idaho, eventually it'll flag.

And the center US is just so wide and open that it doesn't take too much to establish a chokehold on any part of it.

You seem to ignore that military capabilities of nations vary, as do the nations themselves. Frankly, you're working off a series of assumptions that are being disproven on the modern battlefield, for the last couple decades. Have you ever seen the amount of logistics it takes to move even a mechanized battalion ? I have. Only very wealthy nations can do that.

Now, imagine that same battalion, on foot, with only small arms and whatever logistics tail it can muster in trucks, as part of a recovering region in a collapsed nation. Then tell me again, just how easy it's going to be to subject these various neighboring populations. Hell, don't bother. You're wedded to the notion that it'll happen. Its a matter of faith for you. Arguing faith is a waste of time.

Nothing but projection. Democrats and the Deep State have already eliminated the right to vote for Republican voters. That was evident to anyone paying attention in November 2020.

From the rigged election to the massive voter fraud (that has been happening for decades with zero consequences) to the ballot harvesting to the mail-in vote fraud to people voting multiple times to the massive illegal alien invasion intended to increase the Democrats' vote totals (since Democrats push for non-American citizens to vote). To the absolutely ridiculously stupid "Voter ID is racist" bullshit.

The fact that Democrats succeed with these tactics - and have been succeeding for decades - shows how ignorant and gullible is the American public. Accomplished by the Left's full takeover of American education system.

The election I read about over the weekend was regarding a special election, I think, in which Sarah Palin was running.

If there are 3 (or more) candidates, the top 2 candidates with the most first place votes are considered. The rest of the votes who had someone else as top choice are then counted based on their second choice.

Definitely seems like a nightmare system.

470 Apparently the most important thing about this launch is it will lead to possibly including the first woman and first person of color on a trip to the. Moon. For that reason, I don't care if it ever gets off the ground in one piece.

So NASA has defined what is a woman? I thought the new term was "person with a vagina".

471 Love the AAN ad. Finally reaching the people!

Don't know much about them, but they sound better than the GOP.

472 I dig space exploration and am happy NASA has refocused on the moon, but the constant references to women and colored peoples makes me think the actual mission might be doomed from the start. NASA's obviously fixated on the social constructs and not the mechanical constructs of their rocket.

I've seen this picture before. Won't end well.

Yep, every one of we Gen-Xers remembers watching on live TV in school when the narrative focus was on "the first school teacher to fly on the space shuttle!" and that ended with her blown up. January 1986, right before my 10th birthday. I was in 4th grade.

474 Wickard v. Filburn. What a shitty decision...you DON'T have the freedom to grow what crops you like in the quantities you want, because it MIGHT affect prices (as you aren't buying those crops) and that's interstate commerce, your freedoms be damned!

476 424 394 I wonder what Gavin MacInnes did to get arrested in the middle of his show? Other than be Gavin MacInnes, I mean.

Supposedly a PB rolled on him for organizing the attack on the Capitol. Though also supposedly he said don't go to the Capitol, and also, supposedly, he has long since been disassociated with the Proud Boys.

So, yeah, just for being Gavin MacInnes, I think.

I wonder if he was given a copy of the arrest warrant. Probably not, just shown it from a distance with the particulars sealed. I've seen this done before to someone I know; even when showing up in court, the charges were sealed...absolute bullshit.
