8 Why are D-sharp and E-flat considered two different notes? (Ethan Hein). Because they are two different notes - or were, before pianos ruined everything.

Tempered tuning ruined nothing. It allowed Beethoven to write his 32 piano sonatas and sound incredible over the ages. And if you're still not convinced by this empirical evidence I will point you towards Bach who wrote the Well-Tempered Clavier pieces to prove the advantages of tempered tuning. Those are just two examples of what came out of this system. And I'm not about to argue with either of them. That this system rendered D sharp and E flat to resonate at the same frequencies is an actual important consequence. It allows us to have a music theory that allows us to shift tonal centers and have a comprehensible way of notating things.

11 Oh let's see, Tech. I have a tower running Windows XP, and a Dell laptop also, XP. XP runs a stunning amount of legacy Very Important Systems. For day to day I run a disposable Chromebook. I do books, so I run Linux, GIMP was a horrible learning curve but it's actually awesome. LibreOffice, I've now printed 4 books using it in conjunction with Lulu.
My XPs and Linux, don't go online.
Phones? Tracfone. Huge numbers of their users are criminals. You are tracked, but So What. You can get a real smartphone for about $100/year.
I've not owned a TV in almost 20 years. But Gallium do recommend, it's a very lightweight thing.

Fueling looks to be about complete for the core stage, after some glitches. Lightning risk delayed start of tanking, then a possible LH2 leak delayed it a bit more.

But the LH2 tank is full, and the LOX tank is 99%. Then they'll start filling up the upper stage, which won't take much.

Now, LOX is 100%, both are in topping mode (just maintaining level against blow off).

54 Note that I do not discount arguments for people over the many years making changes to scripture and the words of God as handed down by the prophets and Christ. People are shit in their need to meddle and their sheer hubris. This is one of the reasons I have always had certain doubts about a Sola Scriptura basis. On the other hand, tradition is ALSO influenced by people over the many years. It is hard to know Truth.

59 I have a friend who just died this year. He was in his 70s and became a pastor as a second career-making less money in the process. He was a very smart man and had been a plant biologist . I gather he was a really fine pastor. One issue was that having been a scientist he liked to investigate things and so read a lot . It is was, IMO, not helpful to his faith that he read Biblical scholars who were either not bellievers in God or had real issues with
Traditional Christian theology and so had an axe to grind. After he retired he ended up believing David never existed and that there was no bodily resurrection. Even at his funeral the person giving the sermon said "It would have better for David-the pastor-just to embrace the mystery of some things". I hope God has answered some of his questions. Interestingly enough, his wife was a very faithful RC and never agonized over things the way he did.

I chose not to read Biblical scholars who are atheist or have an axe to grind .

I am running late, so I will have to be quick: Doubt is a strange thing. The introduction of doubt can actually strengthen your faith or you can allow it to destroy you completely. I think no matter what we are talking about, thinking and deciding for yourself is important. When someone tells you anything, or your read something, or you are examining beliefs, think about it. What rings true to you? Truth is like a pure note in music. A lie or deception is like an out of place note.

The thermal stresses involved here are something else. Liquid hydrogen, with a vapor pressure of 1 atm, is at just around 20K, or -423F. LOX temperature at 1 atm is around 90K or -297F.

So, you've got big ass tanks (total volume here of about 3/4 of a million gallons) sitting at room temperature that have to hold shit that cold. You don't just start pouring it in. You've got to chill it down, slowly before you start pouring it in.

Note there's about a 125F difference between the LOX and LH2 tanks. The whole thing is ridiculously cold compared to ambient temperature, yet with internal temp differences of 125F.

This crack is the result of that thermal stress.

Re venting. You've got LOX and LH2 at roughly -300F and -420F. You've got let it boil off, and keep replenshing it. Think of boiling water. The heat source is ambient air.

Now, if you don't vent, well, the pressure starts to rise. Critical pressure of LOX is 730 psi, for hydrogen, about 200 psi.

If you let the temperature get too high, the tanks will explode. So, a fully fueled cryo propellant load has to vent and boil off.

Being the electrical nut I am, I remember reading up with fascination on the electric power systems at the launch pad. The conduit and electrical boxes were pressurized with N2. You wanted to keep any O2 and H2 vapor out of the system, where you had contactors and breakers and switches that might spark.

178 GIMP the photoshop clone? I found it easy to adapt to, but it's just a bit wonky. You'll have to click stuff twice, there's lots of lag (or things you add like filters just don't work until you add them a dozen times) and it's just missing a lot, but until I can find a clean torrent of PS for my Mac, it's a pretty damn good alternative for free.

I wouldn't call it The Photoshop Clone, it's a weird thing of its own. As I said, I don't do high-end images, I deal with tons of images. So GIMP works for me. It's of course, not for everyone.

No crack in the actual structural components. It's just something with the insulating foam. It sucks in air, and being so cold, it cools air below critical temperature or some shit, and makes it look like a leak of the LOX or something.

So, no crack. But this bleed problem on Engine #3 looks to be a show stopper.
