Labor Day Weekend Cafe

castleatnight.jpg

Rocamadour, Dordogne, France

By the way, I'm off Monday. I have open threads with animal vids but that'll be it for my contribution to the discussion.

Unless Biden actually begins rounding us up. In which case, I'll also be unavailable, for different reasons.

There will be a fun Cafe on Monday night, though. Be there or be an equilateral quadrilateral!

No, no! The summer can't be over! I won't allow it!

Calgon, take me away!

The white squirrel.

Swan Lake, with necking swans.

Sick stunts and feats of strength and skill. Including one elephant-assisted power-dunk.

Six whales gather around a boat to say "Hi." Personally, I think the whales are all males and they've mistaken the boat for a svelte female and are all like "What's your sign? Aquarius? No shit me too!"

Anteater goes into Beast Mode.

Another tough-guy.

Reason for vehicle insurance claim: Elephant thought my ride was gay-ass.

Cute dog story. They adopted an unwanted runt-of-the-litter because they wanted their other dog to have a friend. Other than that, there's no drama. It's just video of cute dogs hanging out and being sweet.

He's a naughty dog, but how can you be mad at that punim?

Wallygator, the emotional support alligator. The little alligator who's helping a man with depression is in the running to be named America's Favorite Pet.

WallyGator, a 7-year-old reptile, who hails from the City of York and reportedly "loves to give hugs," is currently in the lead in a new pet popularity contest -- America's Favorite Pet Animal Kingdom -- which includes animals of all shapes, sizes and species.

It’s currently unknown how many votes WallyGator has, but the animal has a dedicated TikTok following of more than 68,100 people.

WallyGator's TikTok bio says he's a "licensed emotional support animal" and his owners reportedly operate a reptile rescue.

70 From Daily Wire this week:

Almost 10 years after an alligator ripped most of a Florida wildlife park director’s right arm off, the reptile expert completely lost his left hand after enduring another alligator attack earlier this month.

Greg Graziani, wildlife director of Florida Gator Gardens in Venus, Florida, was “seriously injured during a routine interaction” with a large alligator on August 17, according to a Facebook post from the facility.

The wildlife director told CNN that the attack happened during a routine training session when a leaf from the surrounding trees fell and came in between himself and the reptile. The unexpected movement caused the alligator to snap, lunge forward, and chomp down on his hand, which he had already placed underneath the alligator’s jaw to give it a command.

190 Interesting...

Kind of bored tonight, so I was surfing around and stumbled on the Timcast from the night Cheney lost.

They had a guy on, kind of an old crusty Republican, roots way back into the GOP establishment. Worked with Bush and Cheney back in the day. Turns out he was working in the DNI office and was one of the few in the White House actually working for Trump.

One of Tim's regulars was challenging him when he was saying that the FBI was trying to find the paper copies of the original Russiagate papers. Saying things like, "well how do you know?"

Guy looks at him and says, "Because it was my project. I've read the source documents."

I had fallen in love with a Boxster from that time. 2006? Maybe '08? Gorgeous car, and I was without a convertible and couldn't stand it (it's a sickness that anyone who has had one will understand), and I was smitten. Found a good deal and was ready buy and learned that there were essentially no user-servicable components and the owner couldn't access the engine. If you needed work you were going to pay someone. 357 I sort of remember that Florida. I remember going to Epcot and I don't think it could have been too long after it opened. Florida was really unique back then. I even recognized it as a kid.

Strangely enough, I sort of thought that about Melbourne when I visited a friend there in the early 90s. It was like it had gotten sort of left behind. I'm sure it's not that way any longer.

358 Got that right Eromero.

I like the old Florida, which you can still enjoy. Went through Okeechobee last weekend, driving past the sugarcane farms. And you can still have a great time at the fish camps (Florida equivalent of a roadhouse bar, but with airboats).

I've got family over near the Flo-Bama and it's a lot of fun to go visit, but it's hectic as can be. I do enjoy the surf fishing, though. And the gulf sand in that area is unique which is always neat to show the kids.

If I were a wealthy man I'd take six months to fly them around the world to see different types of sand in person and why they exist.
