The Daily Signal:The District of Columbia does not appear to have a contingency plan for unvaccinated students, who are banned from attending schools in person this fall after the first twenty days, according to comments made by Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser Thursday. During a press conference, Bowser, a Democrat, admitted there are no alternative options, including virtual learning, for students who cannot attend school due to the District's vaccine mandate, meaning unvaccinated children will effectively be left without an education. Over 40% of blacks ages 12-17 are not vaccinated, according to city data. The Daily Signal asked Bowser what the plan was for unvaccinated students. Washington, D.C. public schools start Monday. Bowser responded "They can go to school on Monday. But they need to get their vaccinations... and their families will be alerted as to the dates."They have 20 days to get their vaccination certificate, then they to be "removed" from public education.

In 2010 Obama destroyed the private college loan market and made the feds the lender of virtually all college loans. Tuition charges were always rising, that put it on steroids.
That's why we have kids with $50,000+ in college loan debt. Not only did the federal government make the price explode they also gave loans to kids to study idiotic things like gender studies when no private lender would.

I think I see part of the problem. An 18 year old kid can't go to a bank and get a $10,000 loan to start a small business but he can go to the government and borrow $100,000 to spend 6 years in college and graduate with a useless degree and be in debt for the next 30 years working in a minimum wage job.

Yes, it really makes no sense. There is an abundance of evidence now that the virus poses little risk of harm to school-age kids, while the vaccines pose significant risks of harm to them, including myocarditis and other serious conditions.
Forcing vaccines on school-age kids at this point is simply insane. It's hard to imagine that any court would uphold this idiotic policy.

My university had unheated classrooms in some of the older buildings. (well, poorly heated.)
My university failed 70% of students in some classes to make them reconsider their major.
My university did not have any of the amenities that they have now.
They are not paying for an education, they are paying to party. The education part would be a lot cheaper if run correctly.

Exactly. Parents saving up money to pay for their kid's education would be a lot better spent doing something like setting them up in a food truck or a delivery service. Even if they fail completely, they've learned a lot about business, work, and the real world and are no worse off than blowing that money on college.

This. Years ago I did a paper on FFX county school budget - 85% went to administration and salaries, and out of that 50% went to administration. Out of 30 billion dollars. So teacher's pay, infrastructure, supplies, utilities, buses/drivers, gas, etc came out of 50% of the budget, and everything but teacher's salaries came out of 15% of the entire budget. For a massive school district.
No idea what it's like now or if you can even get access to the budget now.

When I was doing the tuition assistance stuff for the Navy back in the day we paid $250 per credit hour and every university affiliated with the program took that and did not charge the students anything else*. If they did they got kicked off the program.
*Books were a different matter and the responsibility of the student.

Maybe that is true, maybe it is not, but Zuckerberg is kicking the FBI while it is down and simultaneously professing his love of it. The good news is everyone knows the FBI/DOJ is toxic enough to blame/scapegoat for whatever. This is the sign of a fatally wounded institution, two of them if you count Facebook. It's probably gone in a few years, hopefully right along with the FBI/DOJ.

The greatest lectures and curricula of fine STEM universities like MIT, and many of the textbooks, are free online. What's needed is to develop a recognized branded credential for those who can pass all the tests by self-study, as a low-cost alternative to legacy schools. Need a good marketing expert, brand manager or somebody on the team. I think online open-source ed is the way to go for massive improvements in ed quality and big reductions in ed costs.
