John Hayward: NeverTrump Supports Authoritarianism While Pretending to Fight It.

I point this out a lot.

NeverTrump continues not only defending but urging on the Deep State to assume a completely unconstitutional role as the "fourth branch of government," exercising a veto power over any president not put on the Approved List by upper middle class college educated whites, such as NeverTrumpers themselves.

And they continue supporting fascist measures like government-corporate collusion to censor and punish anyone who resists them.

And they claim they're doing this all, to, ahem, "fight Trump's authoritarianism."

Trump has authoritarian impulses, they claim, which therefore justifies their actual, in-fact authoritarianism to stop his hypothetical authoritarianism.

John Hayward
@Doc_0

For all the howling about Trump's "authoritarian tendencies," there is no question whatsoever that Americans were more free during his term, and it's a safe bet they would become more free if he runs and defeats Joe Biden in 2024.
John Hayward

This is one reason the NeverTrumpers can't connect with any significant portion of the Republican electorate. They're getting real authoritarianism shoved down their throats right now. The Dems just stole another trillion dollars from them with a fraud "inflation reduction" bill.

All of the money Democrats stole will be devoted to cracking down on the American people, reducing their freedoms, taking more of their money away, forcibly reducing their "carbon footprints" by making their lives worse, and pushing collectivist ideology.

We're living in a time when fascist government/corporate speech control partnerships are the order of the day. The ruling party doesn't even try all that hard to disguise its censorship orders to corporate lackeys. Meanwhile, the bureaucracy is utterly weaponized against us.

A growing number of issues are taken out of our hands. We're told we're no longer allowed to vote on matters "settled" by "expert consensus." The bureaucracy we never get to vote against, which can fight back against even our elected representatives, grows bigger and richer.

Trump didn't do those things to us. He wasn't thinking about ways to make the American people smaller by making the State bigger. He wasn't busy weaponizing every federal office to go after his enemies. Frankly, he didn't pay *enough* attention to the Permanent State.

And if Trump tried to do any of the things Biden's handlers are doing to us, the Permanent State and DNC Media would have gone to war to stop him. I assure you they wouldn't have shrugged indifferently if his White House was dashing off censorship orders to Big Tech.

It's a sad commentary on our corrupt system that you have to put a Republican in the White House if you want adversarial media coverage, or bureaucratic checks and balances against executive power. At least the growth of authoritarianism slows a little.

But Trump deserves more credit than just being flummoxed by a system that didn't want his hand on the levers of authoritarian power. He didn't devote his administration to attacking and subjugating the American people, like Biden does. He didn't try to make us smaller.

He didn't work from the assumption that every problem in America is the fault of its damnable people, the way Dems do. He wasn't obsessed with creating a punitive State or putting America last on the world stage. He didn't have the contempt for us that pumps the Left's blood.

Trump's final legacy achievement was the Dobbs Supreme Court - a decision that is absolutely and unquestionably a flourishing of freedom, despite all hysterical shrieking to the contrary, for it returns a vital issue to the states and the people, where it always belonged.

I wish Trump would have focused more intently on expanding freedom and slashing the authoritarian state, especially in the perilous days of the pandemic. I would have liked that to be the laser focus of his campaign: a Great Reset that makes us more free and prosperous, not less.

But Trump was no authoritarian during his first term, especially not compared to the gang currently running America into the ground. He could have done more to fight it, especially during the pandemic - but if he won in 2020, the State would undoubtedly be smaller today. /end

I hate these people and I will cheer when they get what's coming to them.

49 Anyone who ever watched more than two minutes of one of Trump's live public roundtables where he brought people of all perspectives in to air grievances or discuss an issue would know the authoritarian thing is a bold faced lie.

Yes anyone can do a roundtable but Trump listened carefully and then offered solutions which would satisfy all the parties and then set about implementing those solutions. And he did it without rehearsal.

So yes the Nazi Leftards are lying when they say Trump is an authoritarian because they know the truth. That he was in fact far too nice and honorable a leader.

And anyone who says Trump is dumb etc obviously never watched one, or they're a lying sack of shit too. He was nothing short of impressive - the attendees always said so, and as a viewer you couldn't help but notice - and he did it all as the most powerful man in the world.

Derek Harvey one of the things Harvey says, during the broadcast, is that he was sitting in a meeting with Mattis, Brennan and Tillerson, I think it was. Anyway, he was behind the three, and the three were lying to PDT. According to Harvey, he was shaking his head no, while the three were lying, and President Trump was picking up on the signals and pushing the three.

Deep state just has to deep state.

The US didn't have a large permanent bureaucracy until FDR. It usually takes roughly 100 years from the establishment of an absolutist state (in our case, FDR centralized all power in himself like the absolute monarchs of Europe, Louis the Sun King for instance) for the bureaucracy to cause the government to collapse by exhausting resources and generally screwing everything up. The monarchs of the period are ironically unable to stop what their ancestor created, as the bureaucracy becomes a power unto itself.

163 The problem for the more well-educated leftists is that they studied things like Hitler's rise to power. So they saw that Hitler did this, this, and that and rose to power and became a horrendous dictator over a murder state.

Lacking rational ability and logical training, they then assume that anyone who does any or all of this, this, and that leads to becoming a monster dictator. So if they see someone doing this or that, they instantly assume that unless we stop them now, we're seeing another Hitler!

This only applies to Republicans or right leaning politicians, of course. A democrat can do this, this, that, and even begin implementing the policies of Hitler and its okay because they are Good People.

The missile carried a test reentry vehicle, which traveled about 6,700 km to the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, where there is sophisticated tracking equipment to verify the accuracy and reliability of the ICBM weapon system. During an armed conflict, such a missile, which has a range of nearly 10,000 km, could be equipped with a nuclear warhead.

just read an articles saying the reason for closing the nuke plants was they were not profitable because nat gas plants were selling electricity for cheaper.

So Pritzker "saved the nukes" but gives them a $694M subsidy paid for by ratepayers. Also, coal and nat gas plants will have to become "carbon free" ... so, Pritzker did us no favors, really.

Not really, frightened people flock to authority figures for whatever crisis happens. That is when the ratchet in Congress gives government power to the executive and bureaucrats. Rinse and repeat for every crisis.

Louis XIV used unrest at home and the Hapsburgs abroad as crises. So, he neutered his nobles by requiring them to attend him at Versailles (away from urban power centers) and used war to unite France and make it the most powerful state in Europe.

Only problem is that pursuing both at the same time bankrupted the state while the taxes on those unable to shift the burden killed the economy.

It's not like there wasn't technological or economic advancement in the age of monarchies. The continuous warfare, and particularly that armies became roving bandits when wars ended, hampered development and trade for a long time. A lot of scientific work done after the fall of the west Roman empire wouldn't see pay off for many centuries. The technological regression (Romans had plumbing!, it'd be a thousand years before that came back in a meaningful fashion) that can occur is pretty daunting.

Serfdom wasn't implemented alongside feudalism. It came a few centuries later. Strictly feudalism is the vassal-liege obligation (and associated with the treatment of realms as private properties). When the nobility became more powerful and the monarchies weakened, the nobility forced the peasants into serfdom. Likewise, the monarchies were the ones to later abolish serfdom (as it empowered their rivals in the nobility).

Those EV tax credits are only good if you owe at least $7500 in federal income tax. Otherwise you get your tax bill as a credit. Could be $6500 or could be $2500. Ford just took a shitty product and reduced its potential market by a lot.

They've observed that Marxism has a long history of making people destroy their existing system for the "system to come" and that's where the strong men step in.

311 Serfdom wasn't implemented alongside feudalism.

Let me start by saying that I have no issues with the horde medical people...

I remember reading a book mumble-mumble years ago which said that western medicine was poisons (drugs), butchery (surgery), and radiation (can't recall what they called that) because the medical industry wasn't interested in healing you, just managing symptoms.

I liken modern doctors to bio-mechanics. Most of them aren't researchers, they have to go with what other people discover. The problem is, what do you do when the research field is corrupted?
Posted by: I used to have a different nic, Ashli Babbitt/Rosanne Boyland at August 17, 2022 03:17 PM (z99Zw)

I think this is a great summary, even if the critique may be a bit exaggerated (eg surgery is necessary in some cases, but should it be the first and only resort for something like recurring back pain?). The medical types here generally seem to be those who do crazy stuff like ask questions and make their own observations.

They start and then transit through mass murder. The end state is slavery, before eventual dissolution and collapse or conquest by nervous neighbors. The mass slaughters usually happen during socialism's early childhood and adolescence. The killing never stops, but it becomes less routine and the scale reduces as the slave-survivors learn their place and/or the masters of the state ease up on the throttle out of self-preservation (China being a prime example of that, with the end of the Cultural Revolution).

We have very greenie weenie neighbors across the street with a solar array on the roof. After having it for a few years they are very luke warm on the whole affair. Add to that they are on the roof all winter shoveling snow off the things. Last time we talked about it they said it was not something they regretted doing but they could not recommend it to anyone.

If one seriously does their homework it can make sense. In very limited cases. There are a lot of tools, Google provides one (no link) that can look at your location, your roof-line, and calculate the available solar array possible and yearly hours of sunlight particular to your location.

In my case, 1000 hours a year of sunlight don't cut it. But then I look at the 'distribution charge' on my monthly bill - which is the same as the charge for the energy, doubling my bill, and start again with a fresh scratch pad. Someday maybe. It's getting closer. Maybe.
