Red Skies Cafe

himalayanvulture.jpg
A Himalayan vulture.

It is one of the two largest Old World vultures and true raptors. The average weight of these birds is 20 pounds, with males weighing up to 28 pounds. The wikipedia entry does not mention any kind of warning-coloration to make it look larger, so the apparent "fake face" you see on the bird must just be happenstance in this particular shot of this particular bird. The skin of the vulture is blue; that is what is showing through the feathers to give the appearance of the bluish "eyes" on its shoulders.

Not today, Satan.

Rats are super-survivors, you might have heard.

Local news anchors reporting on their baby.

The Prestige.

Very nice prosthetic Predator suit from the new woke-ish Prey movie. The suit looks like the painted latex it is, but that's probably exaggerated by the unforgiving natural light. Maybe with color correction and Hollywood lighting they can make it look organic. (I wouldn't know, I'm not going to see it. I've already seen Predator, multiple times. I'm starting to realize it's insane to keep making the same movie again and again, and also insane to keep watching the same movie again and again.)

Bring it in for a hug, boys.

The Vandals.

Human and fox have to find a way to cooperate, so that they can get the fox out of a deep pit.

Why socialism doesn't work.

Distracted by a cute bitch with long legs.

JackStraw has the most enviable lifestyle. I don't mean because of the sailing, I mean because he's drugged out of his mind on the pot all the time.

These guys are betting an awful lot on the skill of the guy with the calculator:

Please chain M. Garland to a large boulder and have that vulture eat his liver out each day, only to have it regenerate so it can be devoured anew the next day, unto eternity.

Seem to recall that someone here had read the Terms of Service that said "doorbell" is burdened with. By using the device, the resident surrenders all rights, and etc., etc.

Conversely, got the RCA doorbell camera here. No reporting "upstream" to Big Brother, no monthly fee, no nothing. Just a simple wi-fi connection to the router. Oh, and I did have a security expert come in and close down all the open ports in the router, and other tricks to head-off intruders at the pass. The newest version of the RCA is in full 1080p, great video, adjustable sensitivity. Endorsed.

A bit of history that is *never* mentioned, FDR's 'Homesteads'. He created the Homestead Division, which was to establish 'Co-operative Communities'. They, in fact, established 100 of them. They all failed, one, in spite of being nursed along personally by Eleanor.

Here's some background: https://tinyurl.com/4dp884wm

Though only Arthurdale (Eleanor's love child) is mentioned, there were 100 of them. Wiki has a list.

This is the issue at heart. Being a institutional big shot is a very cushy way to be. And it's hard to get there, so those that do really really wanted to. Human nature being what it is, generally those who do want the cush once they get there. And they aren't going to help those who wish to take it away. The best bet in the past was traditional military men, but the top leadership of that has been pretty rotted out. Not much difference any more between a top staff general and a politician. The most disturbing trend has been the seeming utter lack in making the citizens content and instead attempting to tell really dumb lies and figuring that will be sufficient.

I'm always skeptical when the body-cams are "turned off" or the police refuse to release the footage. Seems like police unions, if they were on the up and up, would be the biggest fans of body cams. If being the operative word.

Should have never gone as far as it did.
"Ma'am, you're refusing to sign the ticket, correct? OK, you're under arrest. Please put your hands behind your back so I can cuff you. It's standard procedure and I won't ask you again - force will be used after that."
Then sweep the leg while twisting for the arm bar, face into the fender/hood, and cuff and stuff.

While I am not a 100% Back The Blue sort, I do think that if you're resisting arrest, you deserve to get manhandled. And if it's because you are an entitled sort, then I will smile as you learn (hopefully, in a just world) the law don't care about your self-righteous indignation.

(She did ask him for his badge number and his name. And even while she was typing (probably pushing out a self-righteous text to a co-victim) she failed to get it THREE TIMES. She asked for his name more than 3 times, too. She wasn't trying to exercise her rights, she was trying to interfere with the conduct of law enforcement.)

As to being in the park after dark, it seems signs would need to be posted. But that's for taking up with the judge, NOT the policeman.

I don't see it as a master plan either. I see it as a reaction to a problem they never thought they would have to deal with. Hillary was going to win and the last 6 years would not have happened.

Everything they have done starting with the Russia hoax is a reaction to Trump and us. Yea, they control all the institutions but they still need us to cooperate. Much as they wish it were this is not a communist country. And neither Trump nor us is cooperating and they aren't that smart.

This raid was a panicked reaction to Trump having the goods and it is backfiring on them and no amount of lying by the media, the bureaucracy or thot leaders is changing our reaction.

You got it. They could have had their technocracy, infringe on individual rights, rig elections, and all the rest. The vast majority would have went along. All the elites had to do wasn't even "make things work". Things were already working. They just had to not screw it all up.

They couldn't even do that. Wouldn't, more to the point. So now ? Now we're going to tear some shit up, socially speaking, and regress to some point. All because of an ideological pissing contest, mostly between two out-dated castes of elites that'll be gone in another ten years.

My wife's appendix burst after excruciating pain and a misdiagnosis of "ovarian cyst". That got very scary and her recovery was lengthy.

One of the bands breaks and you are looking at a hook or a slice, with a nasty spin added.

Which would make the second bounce unpredictable.

There was a notorious extreme sports club in the UK that did up a "human transport trebuchet" or whatever you wanna call it. YouTube has some old clips. Range wasn't the only issue. Beware uncontrolled spring and bounce off the landing net!

289 May not need to see it, but it's hilarious.

I love how some people think, if they just say precisely the right words, it suddenly puts a force-field around them or something. She kept with the incantation of "Mr. This" and "Mr. That" - as if it somehow made her immune to rough treatment.

A little bit of civil unrest, widespread, for thirty days or so, would be good for this country. It would be down-right educational for many. A lot of things have led us to this point. One has been the lack of direct force, ruthlessly applied to too many people for far too long. They need a taste of it, I think. A reminder, if you will.

295 I doubt there can really be any type of civil disagreement without it being deemed a race war, which is likely the plan the same people who are secretly recording / sponsoring antifa and raiding Trump prior to an election have intentionally been putting into place since the 90s.

Fundamental transformation and all that.

296 You mean like the "Summer of Antifa"?

Posted by: Kindltot at August 15, 2022 09:49 PM (xhaym)

That's my point. Those who participated definitely need a taste. The police not only didn't provide it, they prevented those that would. A double foul.

And, unfortunately but ultimately why I think that summer was far, far more controlled than most people care to admit, that summer didn't reach the affluent urban neighborhoods that also needed a taste of it the most.

The victims were mostly the only residents in blue cities that already understood the lesson.

310 We know the riots were controlled. Barr said as much. Financiers and elites (IMO Arabella). Then he never mentioned it again and took the "book deal". Pence took one, too. Fathom that.

The bricks were put out on the street with great care, as soon the antifa goons would be there.

And antifa walked, From Joseph Alcoff on down, skated off to new roles. Haven't heard of Alcoff in a while, the Antifa Handbook hero, the Occupy boychik, the friend of big democrats, just...slipped...away. This was a huge bipartisan hit, just like the raid was.

Yeah, I know there are lots of examples of things like bugs having dots on their wings to mimic faces, but I wonder if it works the same way as us seeing faces in electrical outlets? Are animals creating faces out of butterfly wings because of their imagination, or are they programmed to just see two dots = eyes?

I don't disagree. My eyes began to be opened when the Republicans began investigating Trump for two years even though they had security clearances that would've told them it was all BS from the get-go. They were only doing it to stop anything positive from happening to normal people.
