11 "so here's half of one."

There was a game called Pay Day, in which you would get mail (sometimes bills other times junk mail). My favorite was the one one the 50% off sale on 6' fencing. The price is the same, but the fence is only 3' tall.

That was a good one.

I was out with my wife once, and there was a woman with three kids. Well, she got three rubber balls out of a machine for the kids, and two had the same color, but the youngest had a different one, so the other two were razzing him. So I told him, "Hey, you got the *special* one, the only one of that color". At that point the kids started getting back at his siblings saying "I got the *special one*!" (sticking he tongue out at the other two.
Then I got the *look* from my wife...

"Perhaps the story you finish is never the one you begin."

My favorite Salman Rushie quotation. Hope he makes it though it appears he's going to lose an eye.

That line speaks to me because I began to write a story, went to look up a character from my past, and an entirely new story began.

I didn't see the tell-tale black and blue spot on the forehead of the Rushdie attacker. The really, really devout Muslims slam their heads into their prayer rugs so hard it leaves a mark.

Long story and I'm not getting into it, but I had to leave my assumed name Facebook account when the 'People You May Know' suddenly filled up with people with a first, middle, or last name of an extremely popular Islamic name.

91 >The DualUp 28MQ780 is the first monitor to be taller than it is wide

I hate my industry. Back in 2011, when I was working on the first folding phone (https://tinyurl.com/4rp3yzxd) we all had dual widescreen HD monitors. We just turned one of them sideways. Windows 7 handled that fine. The office legal and financial staff turned them both sideways so they could have two docs side by side.

92 >web developers who suck at application development, which is all of them

I am now going to use "digital warcrime" whenever I refer to Node at work.

93 Still, Purani said that it’s a good thing to have Electron underlie so many apps because “if you have just one framework, which is running all the apps, then you can just focus on hardening that same framework.”

Except if it is the case that most Electron deployments are self-contained. IE, 200+ MB of electron not in a shared location, but installed with the app.

Which means that each instance of Electron has to be patched. And will there be a tool to find each app instance? Or are you at the mercy of the app dev/publisher pushing out a new package... which won't happen for the fly-by-night apps and games whose devs are already gone.
