42 Curiosity.

From the sidebar - how do you know that AP linked that and not someone else at HA?

And, I ask b/c in my experience, most of the other writers at HA are not much more conservative then AP.

Ed Morissey, for instance, is closer to an establishment republican (i.e., globalist, uni-party - but for low taxes) than he is to a conservative.

I'm not sure AP leaving HA will make HA a "conservative" blog. they need to fire most of their writers and whoever is in charge of the blog and replace them all with actual conservatives for that to happen.

Well, you won't find another case like that ever. Not just the egregious fine but the judge-- upon no proof whatsoever but the "he just has to be a crook, I know it" rule--decided not to take the word of his attorney that they had turned over all docs.

No other case ever will a judge not accept that as the end. Every single time they will accept that. Because attorneys get barred from the practice of law for life if they're not 100% sure it's true.

That was a trial run and it worked. Not one civil liberty attorney anywhere said a peep. And that's the play they are running again in MEL.

215 So, I gave "The Sandman" a another chance with a couple of episodes, and -

The Great Part:
The dude playing "The Sandman" has absolutely mastered Zoolander's "Blue Steel" look and deploys it at least once every 3 minutes.

So, if you just can't get enough of "Blue Steel", Baby, this is your show.

The Usual Olde Netflix Boring Bullshit Crapola Aspect:

"The Sandman"'s main purpose seems to be introducing teh ghey secondary characters, so they can do teh stuff for your education, bigot! And then get die or become enlightened or some such thing.
So, if you can't get enough boring teh ghey characters needlessly introduced in your show, Baby!, have I got a show for you!

It's really not very good anyway. Avoid unless your a fan of the above.

216 Late to the party today.
Saint of the Day
St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (1891--1942) was born as Edith Stein in Prussia, the youngest of eleven children from a devout Jewish family. She was a bright and gifted child. She went on to receive a doctorate in philosophy, studying under philosophers Heidegger and Husserl. Despite her atheism, she was affected by several friends who displayed a great passion for the Catholic faith. One day, while staying at a friend's home, she saw the autobiography of St. Teresa of Avila. She read it, and after finishing it she exclaimed, "This is the Truth." Edith was baptized in Cologne, Germany in 1922. From there she taught for a time at a Dominican school. When the rise of anti-semitism forced her to resign from a teaching post, she wrote to Pope Pius XI asking him to publicly denounce the Nazis. Discerning a call to the religious life, she became a Carmelite nun in Cologne 1934, taking the name Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. The Nazis eventually came for her, and she, along with her sister Rose, who was also a convert, were sent to Auschwitz. They were both killed in the gas chamber. St. Edith Stein is the patroness of martyrs and Europe.

Even a 55-45 GOP Senate doesn't guarantee a slowdown of appointments under Biden.

Joe Mannix had a rant about a year ago that detailed how easily the GOP was helping get things through already. It's always been something that McConnell could slow down or even stop, especially when that NM senator was out for 2 months. He didn't because he didn't want to stop it. Hell, he could have fought for the GA seats and gotten a clear majority, but he chose not to do that.

Now, Governor ? They can find those guys all the time. But, as if by magic, they simply can't put out a candidate able to keep it together long enough to send Mitch back home. But they really, really want to. Trust 'em.

Yet, within our Banana Republic, I contend my Ohio Valley has it worst. Icy and single digits with no snow in the winter, humid as Hell and over 100 for stints in the summer, about two weeks of spring and two more of fall. Enough pollen to bail, if you could sell the shit. Yet just not quite cold or hot enough to brag about.

True fact, the Indians back in the day would only hunt in the Ohio Valley - wouldn't settle here. Said the ground wasn't fit to live on. My ancestors said "
Oh yeah ? Hold my beer".

Yep. Nothing to worry about from an IRS audit.

He seems to think this is OK, because they eventually settled for $110. (So, did they give you back the time and money you wasted on the audit?) And oh, yeah - He was working for Congress at the time. I'm sure that played no part at all in eventually settling the case.

The success rate of FISA warrants indicates the high degree of care and adherence to process that law enforcement and intelligence agencies treat the process. If they weren't very clearly taking their duties *very* seriously, FISA rejections would be much higher. The FISA success rate indicates integrity, not malice.

Yep, this occurred on a Monday smack in the middle of the evening news/main cable shows precisely when every show would immediately stop what was being aired and cut to coverage of the big raid. This matter could have been handled, like it always has in the past, via a negotiation and if that fails a lawsuit. This raid was flat out an episode of political terrorism by the Federal government designed to send a message to the public about the midterm election 90 days away and to be the opening salvo in tying up President Trump with endless distractions while trying to run for a 2nd term. This moment is on par with Watergate or the Kennedy Assassination in how it could reshape who controls the government. If this spirals out of control and it easily could, we could be looking at a 9/11 or Fort Sumter moment.
