The Morning Report — 8/3/22

husdadpelo.jpg

Good morning, kids. Late start for me so I'll try to keep it brief. Another big super Tuesday with a couple more Trump-endorsed candidates advancing while in Kansas, a pro-abortion ballot measure wins handily (shenanigans notwithstanding) begging the age-old question, what's wrong with Kansas? Then again, leaving out the issue of abortion itself, the reversal of Roe represented a victory for the principal of Federalism insofar as the status quo pre-1973 was restored. It's up to the states and their citizenry to decide what they want, so long as the rights of the individual as laid out in the Constitution are not violated. And let's not go down the penumbra and emanation path and "right to privacy" bullshit, but the point is made. In any case, the irony of the protests and violence aimed at those who supported the SCOTUS decision in light of the Kansas vote yesterday is kind of radiant. The Left engaged in the political process it refused to acknowledge that was upheld by the Alito decision in the first place.

As to the advancement of MAGA candidates as well as what the midterms and ultimately 2024 portend, it's anyone's guess. The Democrats know that, all things being equal, they are on course for a rejection of historic proportions both this November and in two years. The dual questions of what can and will they do to rig them to preserve their power, as well as given the absolute, unbridgeable divide between pro-America Americans and anti-American "natives" (to call them "American" makes no sense since they have rejected their birthright harder than Esau for a bowl of barley soup) as well as the corruption of government top to bottom and much of the private sector and culture, will elections serve as nothing more than a barometer of an increasingly disenfranchised citizenry from a political leadership class that sees them as merely unwashed, lumpenprole, untermensch serfs to abuse and lord over?

We have crossed several rubicons these past six or more years, and really since 9/11/01. In a real sense I can't see us going back to what was. That said, the growing disenfranchisement of more and more heretofore disparate groups of people that are traditional political/cultural rivals if not enemies, are united by the intentional and wanton destruction of the Globalist Left and their confederates in the phony GOP/pseudo conservative movement.

The world itself is being convulsed by the Axis of Evil: The WEF global resetters, the Chi-Coms and their stooges and of course Islam. Whether they work in tandem or merely cooperate to bring down the common enemy, which is the past 1,000 years of an ever-advancing humanity (to greater or lesser degrees depending on the country and society) towards freedom and progress (not "progressivism'), the American century and post-1945 relatively peaceful world order and human advancement has ended.

What comes after is now up for grabs. Cue Tina Turner singing "will our story shine like a light, or end in the dark?"

    ABOVE THE FOLD, BREAKING, NOTEWORTHY

  • "Big Tech promises to scourge or salve our human nature."
    Sacred Culture or Cyborg Rapture
  • "There has indeed in the last thirty years been a war on capitalism conducted from the commanding heights of the academy and very broadly assisted by the Western media that has been gathering strength as part of the great comeback of the Left following their bone-crushing defeat in the Cold War."
    "The War on Capitalism"

NOTE: The opinions expressed in the links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

I was chatting with my roofer yesterday and he was telling me a story about a woman he knows who is super conservative about everything EXCEPT abortion. This is the one area where she just seems to think it's "her body, her choice."

in his appraisal, the US is looking a LOT like 1990 Bulgaria, when the commies had been chucked from power and the gangsters were in charge.

It's always interesting to get the perspective of people who have lived through it. I didn't ask yet, but i wonder what his opinion is as to if we are headed towards full commie or not. might have to engage him tomorrow...

Michigan - Predict Dixon+15, Gibbs+10, Result Dixon+19, Gibbs+3

Missouri - Predict Schmidt low single digits, Result Schmidt+23

Washington - Predict Kent to advance in WA-03, Result Kent in 3rd, down 4 with 56% reporting

Kansas - Predict Abortion question passed, Result question lost badly

Arizona - Predict Lake and Masters by double digits, Result Masters+10, Lake currently +1.5 with Maricopa cheating, however she WILL win the race.

30 On Kansas - since the state Constitution already had it enshrined, I think people just didn't want to rock the boat and bring crazies to their state for months to destroy it. When you have 1/3 who are vehement on both sides and 1/3 in the middle, but who quietly side with the pro (change the Constitution), but not enough that they'd want the destruction from the con (keep the rights enshrined), you get a vote like yesterday. One where it's "I don't want another thing right now to screw up this state - let's focus on X, instead and ask me again in a few years"...

45 Some analysis on last night's results.

First up is Arizona, that place is still a shitshow. Lake survived an attempt to use Maricopa cheating to take her out, with at a guess about 20K fraudulent votes put into the system for Robson in the county. You can tell the fix was in because Fox called AZ again, early, just like in 2020. This time, the out county same day voting came in for Lake at a 2.5:1 ratio. Lake WILL win the race, Robson does not have a path to regain the lead. Worry about November with Maricopa trying to pull this shit to reelect Kelly.

In Michigan the polling got it pretty much right. Gibbs could have done better, but he was still against in incumbent with huge name recognition. Dixon performed exactly as expected.

Missouri Grieten under performed his polling, which allowed Schmidt to surge with day of voting. I do think the Trump endorsement of "Eric" made a difference here. Grieten was seen as the Trump candidate and Trump's signal that either Eric was acceptable to him moved votes to the one seen as more electable.

Finally Washington is the poster child for bad election systems. 100% mail-in, poor election integrity systems, and a jungle primary. It is a tough hill for anyone to climb. One of the other candidates was sending out mailers claiming to be the Trump endorsed candidate, which hurt Kent. There is still almost half of the vote to count, but only one of the Republicans will advance, and Kent is trailing by 4 points right now.

Since my early 20s, I've vacillated on this issue. I've gone from being ok with it as a youngster, to outright despising it for a multitude of reasons. But one thing I've never understood...how can a woman carrying a 5-month old fetus decide it's time to abort their baby?? This is a time you're showing. This is a time you have felt the baby alive and moving for quite some time. It's one thing to support abortion at week 7 vs. supporting abortion through month 5 (or beyond). It's unfathomable to me.

the ballot itself doesn't have to be assigned to you. just note that there are x number of ballots before voting starts, each with a unique serial number. once all the votes are cast, check serial numbers and total the ballots. if there's duplicates, or discrepancies in the numbers, then you know there was cheating involved.

but no clue WHO cast what ballot

There is video of an election worker - Georgia, I believe - running the same set of ballots through the tabulator over and over and over. You could have the GUID (that's globally unique identifier for you non-programmer types) identify the vote without identifying the voter which would could make this type of cheating harder.

=====================
Because people see vaccine mandates and abortion restrictions as two completely diffeent and unrelated issues, the real problem isn't (in my mind, anyway) convincing indie voters to be pro-life or to support abortion restrictions.

The real issue is convincing people to accept making law locally, let Missouri or Kansas be different than California or New York. Even my own relations think the Supreme Court ended abortion rights, when (of course) it did nothing of the sort.

85 As you say, there has been a War on Capitalism from the Usual Communists. But what the Multi-Nationals are doing is also an assault on Capitalism or Free Enterprise-- I prefer not to use Marx's terminology. It's anti-market Statism.

In the last election, Woke Corporations teamed up with the American Gestapo, Antifa paramilitaries, Mad Scientists, Election Thieves and Chinee Commies to overthrow the People and their Right to Self-Rule.

That's why Occupy Wall Street has disappeared. They're on the same team. Billionaire Oligarchs and brick-throwing Black-Shirts. Wall Street is Occupied.

105 the ballot itself doesn't have to be assigned to you. just note that there are x number of ballots before voting starts, each with a unique serial number. once all the votes are cast, check serial numbers and total the ballots. if there's duplicates, or discrepancies in the numbers, then you know there was cheating involved.

but no clue WHO cast what ballot
Posted by: SturmToddler

And do what? Disqualify ALL those ballots? How fair is that? I'd prefer my ballot tied to me. That way, if there is a question as to how I voted, I can see if my vote was tabulated the way I voted.

106 Since my early 20s, I've vacillated on this issue.
Posted by: Lady in Black at August 03, 2022 08:08 AM (sVtYq)

169 Got other things to do this morning, but one final thought.

Kari Lake is now the poster child for the term "beating the margin of fraud".

She entered election day with a lead of over 10 points, including a small lead in Maricopa. The McCain machine tried to steal the election from her with a big dump of fraud in Maricopa. Normally this would be enough, and is the same model used in Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia.

But same day voting from the other counties was so lopsided that it defeated the steal. If other candidates like Mastriano are going to win, it will have to be this way.

179 Wow. What a hot take. Republicans only have a majority in state legislatures because of gerrymandered districts.

The rejection of the measure highlighted the increasingly stark divide between the activities of Republican state lawmakers, often in legislatures gerrymandered to effectively guarantee GOP control, and the political and policy desires of American voters. In more immediate terms, the ballot measure's defeat -- on a day of extraordinary turnout -- also provides a clear indication that the desire to defend abortion rights could be a potent issue for Democrats in the coming midterm elections.

One other factor that might have had an impact - Maricopa County has a huge number of over 70 retirees in places like Sun City and the like. I suspect they tend somewhat conservative, but will always be more GOP-e than MAGA; MAGA scares them.

201 @68 Lady in Black-The reason women abort babies that far into a pregnancy is because abortion is a failsafe even for middle/upper class women. We like to resign abortion to lower class, ghetto types. This is not always the case. Its a failsafe for women that do not know how to vet their men and make bad decisions. Some Chad type she spread for at a foam cannon party gave her a good deep dicking, now she's in love. Like a male can with his genitalia, a woman can be led by hers. Women are duped by their feelz thinking the dude that knocked her up is going to give her some sort of commitment and 5, 6, 7 months in. When she discovers she ain't locking him down off to the abortion mill. This goes for girls who realized they let some douchey schlub at a party, club or one of her orbiters(guy friends) bang her then realizes he put a load in her and oopsie she f'ed up because she sure as hell ain't having this losers child it's off to the clinic. 203 Mornin'! For those of you perplexed at how differently MO and KS view abortion, it's a history thing with recent history affecting MO big time. In 2008, MO had a ballot initiative that "banned cloning" but enshrined therapeutic cloning into the state constitution. The main shenanigans were in the Secretary of State's office, one Robin Carnahan. The blurb on the ballot blatantly contradicted what the amendment actually said, and that blurb was written by Carnahan. 2008 was the first time I have seen (in 3/4 of my life living in one or the other state) the Protestants and the Catholics working together enthusiastically and effectively. We didn't win, and the amendment still is a part of the state constitution, but we started changing the culture here. MO was always more pro-life thanks to a combination of fairly dominant Catholicism and the Bible Belt, but it really became part of the state's identity after that election. 2008 was the last time MO was even close for a Democrat president, and since has become one of the reddest states around. And therapeutic cloning (cloning human embryos for parts) does not happen here in the open even though it could. Too controversial.

I don't agree with that; but I do think there is a bias against changing any Constitution for what is seen as a political goal, and I think this worked against the backers of the bill. What it needed was a massive, well funded campaign based on explaining what it was and why it was necessary; but the backers jumped the gun and tried to push this through fast. Too fast.

One big benefit I had was textbooks. We checked them out like library books, then turned them back in at the end of the semester. No book fees.

I've been looking around at the other races yesterday - sadly, it looks like Trump Impeachment Supporter Newhouse won his primary in WA because his opposition could never settle on a common opponent. Newhouse only got 27% of the vote, horrible for an incumbent, but in a 6 way race that was still enough to win. What it tells me is that the local Republican party is totally dysfunctional and might as well not exist. A good candidate could have beaten Newhouse by 30 points, easily.

I don't think I've seen any Lake worship, but I have seen some fans. And she might turn into a new McCain, and she might not. It's easy math to vote for her regardless of whether she'll turn later.

If one candidate is unknown but says the right things and the other candidate is a known establishment hack, then it's easy math to vote for the unknown with the right speeches. If you have two unknowns saying the right things, try to guess as well as you can. The unknown with the risk of turning into a shit heel is a better choice than the known who is already a shit heel.

You probably know this Dave, but the thinking here in AZ is that the GOPee/McCain wing of the party votes early & by mail-in, whereas the MAGA crowd generally shows up to vote on election day in person -- thus the early lead for Robson, and the close for Lake.

I hope you're right -- I'm old enough to remember them miraculously finding an extra 40,000 votes (just enough) after the general to install Sinema four years ago ...

In that sense, I'd propose that Globalism has primarily been Europe's effort to regain some relevance in world affairs after they threw away all of their economic and military power in the first half of the 20th century, backed by the mega-Corporations who have no loyalty to anything and would be happy for there to be no governments at all.

Not at all. Empires tend to be multi-cultural, but the emperor's country sets the trend and enforces its will. "You may kill the woman because it is your culture, but if you do then I will kill you because that is mine." Multilateralism is right out.

I generally don't like multilateralism in general. Multilateral fetishism got us decades of stalemate without resolution in the Middle East, for example. Bilateralism got us real progress in under four years. It's too hard to make a mutually-beneficial agreement when more people are involved. Countries should make bilateral agreements with whomever they please on whatever terms they find acceptable.

China is in serious trouble. They have a real estate bubble that is cracking up (partly by design) and this is having some downstream consequences on the banks, which are only getting worse. Low-end industry is starting to leave China, mostly for SE Asia. They have an energy crisis. They have a water crisis. They have a serious demographic problem that is going to detonate in their faces within 20 years. Their economic growth is now smaller than target (and the target wasn't high) and they might be in an actual recession (they lie about all numbers, so it's hard to tell). They have dangerously high youth unemployment.

As to how fit they are to launch a war, probably not very - but they do have manpower and equipment and we might have the unfortunate opportunity to test the thesis.
