I like how the angular, geometric shapes and the bright, contrasting colors give the work movement and life. The city looks alive, busy and modern. The colors are clean and vivid, without a lot of shading. I also like how the manmade objects, the train and buildings are angular and the humans are curvilinear. It really separates the images. This is an interesting piece.

It's neat how the artist has two contrasting actions happening here. First, the train is coming at me to the left. Being a train, I can feel the power and speed in that motion. Countering that action is the crowd of people heading in the opposite direction but adjacent to the line of the train. One or two people wouldn't balance the energy of the train, but a whole crowd does. Their individual swirling shapes blend together as they recede and come nearer to the train. They look to be running towards it, possibly to catch it? This force moving away from me seems to push against the force of the train. Anyway, it creates a neat tug-o-war with my eyes.

Today is a test for some of the pollsters I pay attention to. There are some I trust and I lot I disregard because I know they are biased (Quinnipiac, I'm looking at you). I'll post this comment a couple times today, so going on the record.
If the pollsters I trust are correct, then we will get the following results today: Arizona - Both Lake and Masters will win by double digits. Missouri - Schmidt will survive the dick stepping that his pollster did thanks to Trump letting people know he will support either Schmidt or Greiten. Schmidt will win by low single digits Michigan - Dixon will win by over 15. In MI-03 Gibbs will beat Meijer by over 10. Washington - In WA-03, Kent will advance to November in the jungle primary, Butler is about 50/50 to advance and try to hold her seat. There have been shenanigans here with lies about Trump's endorsement, which will have an unknown effect. Kansas - The abortion amendment will pass by about 5 points. One has to wonder if Nancy's trip was always about giving the Chicoms a reason to kick off the Taiwan invasion.
I doubt we will respond, as it's likely we're just letting Xi get his wish as bought and paid for. The Dems need to get this done before they lose power for a cycle. IOW, Xi paid for all these congresscritters and he wants his reward, which is Taiwan. We've probably secretly agreed not to intervene because we're not America anymore by design. Yes, "Kee-ev." As for the other, while my knowledge of French stops at whatever Ace includes in his posts, I think the flat "a" sound as in "can" is either rare or nonexistent in the language. Seems to me I remember Cary Grant pronouncing it "Cahn" in To Catch a Thief.
Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius at August 02, 2022 10:07 AM (txdEq) Well, since I am an English speaker in an English-speaking country, I go with "Cans" as it reflects the French spelling of the name, and distinguishes it from Caen, also a town in France. If it comes to war with China, the United States will lose. This country is incapable of winning foreign wars on a good day, and our military disposition is worse than it's been in living memory. Anyone who feels confident about our prospects in that event needs to take a big step back and rethink some stuff. Can we fuck up their military assets? Sure. Can we prosecute the war to a successful conclusion? Not a chance. In ten years, we'll be drawing down our forces as a new, stronger China celebrates their now unquestioned hegemony, and parades billions of dollars worth of American kit through their streets. 35121 is divisible by 69 - an obvious sexual connotation to the painting. Upon dividing 35121 by 69 we are left with 509 - which is the error code for 'bandwidth exceeded.'
