That's because it was more than likely painted with a rag.

There was this painter on one of the PBS channels that would paint these amazing landscapes with only a rag.

58 So this painting is supposed to be all about technique, right?

Okay, fine, I get it.

Couldn't the subject be more interesting? Oh, yes, that's a well turned heel. That's nice. It's a surprise he didn't get the model to strip to her bare ass like all good painters do. But anyway, if you're just going to dick around with technique then get a subject that's unusual. Like a metal guitarist. Riding a motorcycle. With his axe strapped to his back. Smoking a big fucking cigar.

That would be fucking cool. I'd hang something like that. In a place of privilege. Like right over the shitter.

118 Whistler's Otter. SURPRISE!

(100 comment rule, surpassed).. quick question. Running Win 10 on laptop, under Win7 Shell. Edge browser. (yeah, but it's been stable on THIS unit for years).

But now, across the Microsloth channels, they've blocked Protonmail. I'll need to power-up an alternate browser for this, yes? Don't care to use Brave, as it's straight up Google/Evil. Other options, Horde? I'm decidedly NOT tech oriented, I'm not going to download an entirely different operating system for this. Hell, if need be, I'll buy a $75 tablet from ChinaMart, and run Proton on separate hardware.

Open to ideas though! And, thanks in advance for your help and ideas! (no, i'm not slappin' hot ahrn to it, either.) lol

153 I can understand the military requirements for certain immunizations, so long as they are approved. Not "emergency use authorized." That's the law.

And since they decided to fast track approval, I suppose there is nothing to be done about it.

What is completely unacceptable, are those who acquired Covid and recovered, are considered "unvaccinated". Testing for this is not rocket science, they should be allowed to decline without penalty.

155 Tea, here, is served in large covfefe mugs, brewed from bags imported from Britain. Strong, black, deep and rich tea, enjoyed with a splash of milk, as is done in Olde Blighty and Northern Ireland.

It can be served in fine china with lace doilies beneath, too. But you'd want more than three or four sips of this stuff. It's perfect for later in the day when covfefe isn't desired, unless one wants to be bug-eyed 'wake at 0300 hrs.

That said, a proper tea does need to be accompanied by a biscuit, chocolate, or some other wee treat of a sweet or savory nature. It is the way of civilized peoples, which being Horde, would be us. Well, most of us. Well, some of us.

True. But for me she was never hot enough in Double Indemnity to make me believe 100% that MacMurray's Walter would commit murder for her. If DI has a flaw (and it's a subjective one; stipulated), it's that.

Maybe you could say that she was attractive enough to push Walter over the edge -- a chance to satisfy his long-time sublimated desire to fool the insurance company. And after the murder he *had* to stick with her for safety (such as it was). Certainly in the novel all desire for her vanishes after the killing of her husband. "I loved her all right. I loved her the way a rabbit loves a snake. That night I did something I hadn't done in years. I prayed."

A woman came up to him on the streets and was furious with him because she had taken her children to see the movie because he was in it. He swore to never star as a villain again after that.

207 McMurray was in some screwball comedies with Kate Hepburn in the the 30s, but his best-known roles before Flubber and My Three Sons were his bad-guy roles from the 40s and 50s. My favorite one is the backstabber he played in The Caine Mutiny.

And I once read that at one time he was the highest-paid actor in Hollywood.

And also because Mozilla is far more infested with woke freaks than Chrome. Not that Chrome is good in that respect, mind you.

Brendan Eich, the inventor of JavaScript and the former CEO of Mozilla, was forced from his job after it became apparent that he donated money to defeat gay marriage in California.

He later founded Brave.

I'm guessing he wouldn't piss on Mozilla if it were on fire.

This is a PRO PRESIDENT BIDEN POST. BRAVO MR. PRESIDENT, THANK YOU! the Republican antiBIDEN campaign Is the exact same playbook they used against Jimmy Carter...I wasn't there but I've READ OR HEARD about the gas lines being insane, because of the so called gas shortage. They were also angry the Jimmy Carter didn't drag America into any war. It would be wonderful if people understood the president had nothing to do with gas prices and choose to pay attention to the fact that in this moment we have the best president We could have ever possibly have had.

He's the 1st president to: save over a 100000 people after ending A-war; appoint our 1st female black Justice; serve as vice president to the 1st black president; choose a black woman to be his vice president/ Running Mate.

The Democratic Party wins with majority rule, Not electorial college loopholes. Minority vote presidents are always a disaster for the country for a reason. The country didn't want them. Just like Hillary 1 by 3 million votes and yet for some reason we say it was her fault she lost!

265 Yes, annual flu vaxx is required for all DOD personnel afaik. In addition to a host of other immunizations. And more, depending on where you will or likely to be deployed.

It was and remains illegal to coerce anyone to take part in medical experiments. And that's what "emergency use authorized" means.

Then they "approved" it after several months. Historically vaccines take 8 to 12 years for approval.

And - only about 20% make the cut. Think about that.

Conversely, under Donald Trump I lost my business that I had been building for 10 years. 2020 I was finally on my way to clear about 6 figures. And trump decided to lie about the coronavirus and then just obliterate everything I had built.
I was a group fitness instructor for government offices in Washington DC. They still haven't returned to full-time in office work. 305 Clip holster that's been doing yeoman's service for me for two years now. It's an Amberide, IWB, carrying a SIG P938, (mini 1911) in *gasp* 9mm.

I can fully cover the gun with my hand, but it still delivers 8 rounds of stronger than .380, all without objectionable blast or recoil, and it's accurate.

In that Amberide holster, the clip fully and positively locks over the (leather, basketweave) belt, and the "feel" is damn near the same as "not there". Spare mag, front left pocket. In "Galveston Tactical Wear", (khaki shorts, Aloha shirt), I can go anywhere and not get made, as the rig simply doesn't print.

Belt-clip holster can work fine, just find the one that actually works on YOUR belt. (btw), 2 Allen screws, and I can change out clip sizes for different belts, too.)

Without getting into a lot of legalese, that's because you'd have to appeal to the exact same Judges who made the ruling, and hope that you could talk them into overruling themselves. Not gonna happen. Federal Courts will not interfere in State Law and State Constitution issues., they leave that up to the State Supreme Courts.

What the pro-life movement in Kansas is going to have to do is what was done nationally; elect pro-life governors and pro-life legislators, who over the years will eventually replace all of the current Kansas Supreme Court Judges with pro-life Judges, who then can use the raw, undemocratic power of the new Court to overturn the old Court. It's the only realistic path forward.

>>Regarding Kansas failed constitutional amendment.

Well I would say since the KS SC is a creation of the KS legislature and the laws passed by the legislature, they have jurisdictional control over the court.

Simply pass a law stating that the KS interpretation is null and void and that they are asserting plenary power and authority to decide the contours and limitations of abortion laws in the state.

I don't know, lets try some outside the box thinking here.

353 The Kansas thing is kinda surprising but not really. Having the vote on primary day kinda fucked the pro life side. When you have votes on off days (ie not November elections) low turnout happens. And in low turnout votes the side most animated wins even if it may not represent the majority. In abortion right now the pro abortion side is most animated. And they won.

With the exception of emergency special elections to replace a dead person or something, all binding votes for all offices or propositions, should occur on the Constitutionally mandated day and not stuck wherever in the year they think they can slide things through.

I don't see where in the Kansas Constitution it establishes their authority as equal to the legislature. The judiciary only interprets the writings of legislatures and applies them to cases, Moses would be a greater authority on the Mosaic law than a later Rabbi interpreting his statements. I don't see why a legislature could not pass a law limiting interpretation "X law shall not be interpreted as meaning Y".

That case was Grey v. Sanders, returned March 18, 1963. It overturn all state constitutions that had a state senate based on region rather than population - the principle of "one man, one vote". A catastrophic ruling, one of the Warren Court's worst, because it handed states likes Illinois and New York entirely over to their big-city Democratic-party machines.

Instead they hide behind this direct voting horseshit. Any state that uses referendums or any direct voting needs to screwed by its half-witted voters good and hard.

Contracts are very frequently written in this manner. It's perhaps more confrontational to do so retroactively but I think in original legislation judiciaries would generally accept it. There may be good existing examples of clarifying language in legislation.
