155 This morning was entertaining and frustrating at Dark Acre. As I began my workout, I saw Prettygirl perched by the backyard window suspiciously eying something. Turns out to be Creamsickle, the *big*, fluffy orange and white cat (hence the name) who comes around periodically and waits for me to come out and feed him. PG tolerates him so I went outside to feed him. Within moments, Little Dude (a small, thin, short-haired orange and brown-striped cat) saw me and wanted in on the action. He's a neighbor's cat, and he's friendly, but PG hates him and Creamy isn't keen on him either. So for quite awhile, I kept going inside hoping LD would leave and he would until he heard me come back out and then he'd return. Eventually, he disappeared and I had some bonding time with the Creamsickle. He's very handsome and very well-groomed, but feral. Got some great pics and video too. I like Little Dude, but he causes trouble (though he doesn't intend to).

My kids think that when I talk about my many past sins, I'm doing so out of affectation. Er, no. You could get away with seriously crazy shit in the 80s, both in high school and college. I'm not saying it was illegal, but it was certainly something that didn't need to be broadcast to billions of people.

Another cat in the same area is a threat, not a blessing until you prove to the original that nothing bad will happen and food/shelter won't be lost.

When I introduced a female Persian to my two boys, they were isolated for about a week, then I let them peek through the door. When the door was opened and one got in, she chased them around the sofa twice, and when she was outside upstairs she chased them out of the upstairs. A little while later she came down, but only on one side of the room and didnt chase, and a day later they were eating together.

Just took myself out to the local watering hole for a couple beers and a burger. Absolutely beautiful day. 75 and sunny with a slight breeze off the water. Burger was lamb with feta and kalamata olives and greens. Fries with feta and herbs. Micro was Manny's Pale Ale. Company was good, even the blue blue blue seattlites are sick of the chaos and homeless bs and crime. We will NEVER be a red town. Im ok with that. But it's fun to see locals shake their heads and agree with me on a lot of local issues.

339 Had a boat sitting on a lift (high and dry) take a lightning strike to the VHF antenna, and exit to the sea 6 foot below through the aft sonar transducer. Blew the antenna and sonar transducer apart, wiped out two engine computers and all the shipboard electronics. Not a mark on the boat itself, though.
