5 Hey ace, this might be interesting to you and others. You remember the "raging lady" on tictok that was claimed to have been screaming over Roe being overturned? Well apparently that was false and it was just her venting in frustration at a difficult day and had actually been posted a few days before. She did an interview with Chrissie Mayr and Keri Smith and talks about it. She is in fact Pro-Life and her shares her story about going in for an abortion and changing her mind after hearing the baby's heart beat.

Here's the interview with it cued up right before she joins.

9 Sorry for the real news on the Café thread but Pencil-dick shooter's weapon revealed; link in my sock:

The 9mm SUB CQB was developed with personal defense in mind. Integrated noise suppression offers a tactical advantage while protecting the defender from decibel chaos. We highly recommend you utilize the integrated picatinny rails. Add a combat light and quality optic to this quiet little protector for positive threat identification and target acquisition.

All that propaganda about the gun being a S&W M&P AR-15 was BS. This isn’t even close to an AR-15.

Take a look again. I believe the design has been around since 2000, with minor tweaks and variations, and there is a cottage industry in pimping them out. In the integrally suppressed CQB, the suppressed barrel is significantly larger than the recoil spring housing/tube. In the the photo the cops supplied (and the catalog Sub2000), the barrel is roughly the same diameter (or more close than the CQB) as the recoil spring housing as is the catalog photo for Sub2000. I could be mistaken, but this comports with my recollection.

95 Rick Bragg has a book about work at a local cotton mill, back in the 30s. His brother worked there at one time. They had a downed electric line and told a worker to go and get it out of the way. He was electrocuted and died. Widow took it to court, but the judge said that he should have refused to do it. That's the way they used to handle things like this.

99 So I just got back from the medicine cabinet (liquor store) and was treated to some disturbing shit. I’m in the checkout line behind a mom, her son who wasn’t older than 7 and her daughter who was maybe 10.

A song called Birthday Sex was playing and the mom leans down towards her son, starts doing something she thinks is a dance, and I’m pretty sure was singing the song. To be fair I couldn’t quite hear her but the daughter turned around, saw me and tapped her mom telling her “mom you’re in public!”

Just fucking weird all around.

106 I called the Musk thing yesterday. It will come down to the judge he gets but I think he has a decent case. As part of the deal, Twitter was required to turn over user data, identifying real vs spam accounts and he has the data to argue that they haven't done that.

Of course, Twitter has their side of the story too. Will be interesting to see if the judge goes political or not.

What always struck me as funny was Musk knew Twitter was a money suck and wouldn't be profitable for ever. He even talked about paid subscriptions or ads. It just seemed like a shit acquisition and he seems smarter than that.

That's why I thought it was a troll, or a way to get access to Twitter's data to show people it's a flaming dumpster of liberal clown freaks and spam accounts.

-------------------------------------
No, it's telecommunications giant, Rogers, that's either #1 or #2 contrasted with Bell's system.

All of the the Interac debit card ATM machines and instore ones are offline; and all of Rogers telephones, internet, and TV service is out. Credit cards at instore payment devices are okay as is cash [!] that I used to buy my groceries and some Chinese food today.

Bell Canada's service that I use for landline, TV, and internet is fine as they've been bragging about in sarcastic press releases.

The needs of these customers were so different from a private company and of course they were growing at an enormous pace so they set up a special group of coders and built a special code tree just for the internet group called IOS Geeks. There conference calls with the develops on a daily basis and new code was being spun up weekly and sometimes multiple times a week. We brought the whole thing down more than once but back then it wasn't as big a deal as it is today.

175 130 the aluminum pole probably makes a difference, but still, the physics means speed on approach yields stored energy in the pole, transferred upward, then upper body strength to push straight up beyond the pole ... then part of body over, flip to get rest of body over .. pretty amazing.

Torso was over by maybe a foot but he did touch the pole ... requires perfect technique, and maybe a little practice. Raised in Lousiana ... "you spelt that wrong"

Posted by: illiniwek at July 08, 2022 09:01 PM (Cus5s)

Key was both storing the energy in the pole, AND the perfect transition from horizontal to vertical... with a Hip thrust just as he hit vertical to direct the power of the pole in the correct direction.

Hell of a lot of physics involved in Pole Vautling.

He is also at the perfect height weight to be able to use the energy stored in the Pole... really impressive.

261 Okay, my phone is charged enough. I'm really tired.

As an aside, I like stopping at Pilot/Flying J in Tennessee cuz they always have a table full of homemade breads and cakes for sale.

Yum.

Stay free. Keep the faith.

Night!

263 252. Well Sri Lanka is busy killing the rich when they can find them. You'd think the US " betters " might worry. Nobody will take truly hungry kids quietly while Richie parties and eats filet mignon

264 Well my motto is to stay calm but prepare. I'm glad people are not paying attention . Makes it easier to prepare . Ever go to a grocery store when a hurricane is approaching?

Posted by: Anti doesn't matter at July 08, 2022 09:57 PM (4+wAL)

265 Yes, but you could still get gas. And it wasn't because the government was trying to force people into electric cars. The grocery stores were stocked. If you ordered something like an appliance or a part, you could get it. Now, you just don't know what will be out of stock next.

There was a time when any 10 year-old kid with a Gilbert chemistry set could do it. There were instructions in the manual.

Today, I suppose one would be busted for 'possession of bomb-making materials'.

Yeah, I've accumulated about all I can store, but I'm still picking up 6-10 extra cans of something every time we go get groceries. You can always find a little room somewhere.

277 Propellent or powder can be made with fairly common household or garden shop materials. You couldn't pay me to do it, because it is dangerous when mistakes happen.

There are different qualities of "smokeless" powder. I remember my Uncle Orville, who complained about American gunpowder in WWII. He said the Werhmacht troops had very high quality powder that emitter little smoke, making it virtually impossible to locate fixed positions (and Germans were very good at camouflage). Conversely he said, American powder was dirty and smoked badly, making it much easier for l the enemy to return fire.

The part that's still an unknown for me is the bartering angle. I doubt we'll be at the SHTF "I'm shaving gold off of this krugerand" stage anytime soon if ever, but I won't be surprised if we're at the "I don't have _____, what will you trade me for it?" stage fairly soon. That's a complete unknown for me, and it's all guesswork and reading about places like Russia and Venezuala.

Posted by: CN at July 08, 2022 10:03 PM (ONvIw)

280 278. Well I'm hesitant to disclose what I've stored. As for bartering. I haven't the first clue. My grandmother traded sewing and canned vegetables for a few chickens so that they could get eggs. This was in the early 30s. I guess it's a needs must sort of thing.

I also stocked OTC meds

281 Lago di Garda is not the premier lake in Lombardy. Lago Maggiore and Lago di Como are more romantic and beautiful. Lago di Garda is very nice though, and is good for kids with Gardaland, which is like Disney but without grooming kids to be gay.

282 People here seem breezy and blase about the world situation these days. I'd be surprised if anything happened.

People have no clue how close everything is to unraveling. The normalcy bias is very strong; its based on a lifetime of experience. It exists because people don't understand what prosperity has at its base. The left does understand that, which is why they have been systematically pulling that base out from under society. We are literally teetering on the brink of collapse. That collapse will closely resemble Stalin's planned famines in the Ukraine.

Food is a pipeline process, stall the pipeline, and there is no way to restart it in time to keep millions from dying.

285 5 Hey ace, this might be interesting to you and others.
