Nearly a Month After the Supreme Court Leak, Investigators Are Finally Asking for Clerks' Phone Records, and to Sign Affidavits
The signing of the affidavits is important because while the leak itself might not have been a crime, lying to a federal officer in an investigation is a crime.
Or, as we've just found out: May be a crime if you're a Republican. It's not a crime at all if you're a Democrat who's lying to advance the left wing's political agenda. Why is this "major escalation" only happening now? The guests Megyn Kelly had on to discuss this predicted that the leaker would be found quickly but only because they believed these elementary, basic steps of investigation would be undertaken in the first days of the investigation. And yet here we are, almost a calendar month later, and only now are they fixin' to start ponderin' a consideration of the beginning of the most basic possible investigatory steps they could take. Is this because Roberts told the Supreme Court Marshal to "keep it collegial" and not to be intrusive? Or did the Marshal just decide to go easy on the liberal clerks on her own? (I think it's a her.) Does Roberts really want to find the leaker, or is he really trying to help the leaker escape detection? In any event, clerks, plural, are considering lawyering up rather than cooperate with the "major escalation" in the probe (which is really just doing basic stuff that should have been done in the opening hours of the investigation).Supreme Court officials are escalating their search for the source of the leaked draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, taking steps to require law clerks to provide cell phone records and sign affidavits, three sources with knowledge of the efforts have told CNN. Some clerks are apparently so alarmed over the moves, particularly the sudden requests for private cell data, that they have begun exploring whether to hire outside counsel. ... It's a good case to reflect on going forward. Were blacks in LA protecting one if their own? Or were they convinced that the system did not work for them, so they broke it for everyone?

IMHO, the response should be that it is a condition of your employment that you provide the requested info. If you don't, well, I guess you're no longer a clerk for a SCOTUS justice. Unless this was a group effort, which isn't outside the realm of possibility, the people who had nothing to do with the leak don't want to lose that bulletpoint on their CV.

Or if a clerk, was that clerk asked to leak it? Regardless, a Court that was serious about finding the leaker (I don't think this Court is) would have asked for all of this on Day 1. And any clerk who resisted would have been let go immediately.

The prequels basically covered the Rise of Darth Vader and massive exposition. Easier to see where things went wrong with that perspective, but there were a lot of good scenes and characters in them. If Anakin was fixed and exposition was emphasized a bit less suddenly it's not a controversial departure.

They like a certain predictability in story. It just evolves in its manifestations over time. The star system developed in Hollywood because stars produced specific types of movies that people knew. Fred Astaire is gonna be in a movie? Well, that's all I need to know because I know what a Fred Astaire movie is going to be.

Wasn't quite that disorganized. It's two different trilogies focused on Luke and Anakin respectively. Though Anakin's movies focused a lot more on other things and his arc didn't align super well with the OT, we don't really get to see him become Darth Vader enough or in a reasonable seeming fashion.

Good point. BUT there are exceptions. Go on a military base. They can search your car or person (including your cell phone) any time they wish. Same goes with any high level government activity that works with highly classified material.
It's part of the agreement everyone makes when they decide to work in those activities.

The point of Durham wasn't so much to expose corruption - that's been exposed for awhile. To most people (the ones with eyes and hears, to see and hear), Right or Left, it's a quotidian reality of American public life. To us - we all knew this was coming. Some like it and some don't; it's still a foregone conclusion.
But a significant portion of the Right is always hoping for #Steiner to come in #TwoWeeks. Always grasping at the next straw. It's the product of blind loyalty to various ruined institutions. They thought Durham would really come. And with every straw that gets pulled short, they get a step closer to taking the red pill.
So I'm good with it: keep on doing it. Over and over again. Don't throw them in that briar patch, Br'er Fox.

The highest rated episodes pre-Lady Doctor were in the high 9s. The highest rated episodes of Lady Doctor were somewhere in the 6s.
Either the conspiracy to deny Lady Doctor's greatness is so powerful that not even the IMDB can stop the rating manipulation, or Lady Doctor just sucks.

I think it goes beyond bad issues that people didn't care for, it was insulting and crapping on the very things that people liked about Dr Who and themselves personally. That kind of thing really damages the joy people take in a product.

As a condition of employment for many jobs they can search your personal phones, and it's not just in government. The SEC just requested a bunch of traders personal cell phone records because they suspect they're getting around SEC rules using those devices . No proof, just supposition. And you know what? Companies like JP Morgan are compelling their traders to produce that information. Several traders are suing alleging it is a breach of their rights. My estimation, they have a pretty good case.

I said above (and would have added more words except for pixy) that it is marginal. It proves what we have known for years. But us knowing it isn't enough. Having it admitted to in court, regardless of verdict, does allow us to argue more effectively with people who try to call us conspiracy theorists.
This is just one minor example, but couple it with 2000 mules, (and I could list other examples but pressed for time) and it starts to shape public perception. Enough that you have solid majorities that are rejecting the narratives.
I see it in the polling. The public isn't buying what they are being sold. And if another election is stolen from them, they will know it. We are up to 55% believing 2020 was stolen.
What comes after that I don't know. But the public will know they have been lied to and fucked over.

I was very clear all along that I thought Durham would run a thorough investigation, one that is still going on by the way, and bring charges where he found crimes. I was also clear that it was not his job to be jury and judge and that he couldn't control that. The evidence he found was overwhelming, he can't stop and OJ jury from acting corruptly.
You said Durham would do nothing. That was clearly wrong.
And As I said the investigation is still going on with Danchenko's case coming up in EDVA not DC this Fall and a good chance of more indictments.

The kicker is the economic crisis because that causes people to basically believe all the bad information coming out on other fronts.
Gas and diesel at 7-8 bucks per gallon is going to piss off a lot of people that do not ordinarily vote. Not finding baby formula--ditto. Soaring food inflation is even going to crimp the FSA because suddenly their foodstamp allotment does buy what it used to to even after the large bump up via the covid bill. And of course, it cannot buy what is not on the shelves.
The negative view of all this would be not that the Republicans are the stupid party and will find a way to lose but that they are in fact the controlled opposition party aka Washington Generals and WANT to lose.
