It's almost like all these politicians are liberals pretending to be conservatives for their phoney-baloney jobs.
And their failures to advance any conservative cause is because they don't actually want to help their enemies. ALMOST like that. Of course. The short term goal is to ban the AR-15, because it's the most popular rifle in the US at the moment. Once that's done, other less popular guns should be easier to ban because of the AR-15 precedent.

This issue seems very simple. Similar to the illegal alien issue.
There are laws on the books. The Democrats are not enforcing those laws on the books. Solution: start enforcing the laws on the books. Every time we have some incident like this, 99% of the time there were laws that were not enforced to prevent it from happening. In this case, it was the teen's previous arrest and threat that should have prevented him from being able to purchase a weapon. Enforcement of laws on the books would go a long way to solving a LOT of the crime problems in this country. But since Jan 2009, the Democrat Party has not enforced crime laws in this country. THAT is the problem. Posted by: Clyde Shelton at May 30, 2022 03:17 PM (Do5/p) 90
Somebody on Twitter posted a meme of how gun confiscation will work.
No, the cops won't bust down your door. You'll simply have your bank account, credit cards, and other financial accounts frozen until you turn over all your weapons, and sign a statement attesting that you have no more firearms. Lying on the firearms statement will be punishable by a lengthy prison term, and huge rewards will be provided for snitches who report people who have illegal weapons. Posted by: The ARC of History! at May 30, 2022 03:18 PM (I2/tG) 91
I don't think AR's or any other firearm will be banned in the current frenzy. The fact that they keep bringing it up, though, is a good reason for me to keep my shotgun forever. If they ever succeed in banning firearms, hunting firearms will be the last to be declared illegal.

They want to take the guns of peaceable, rational people because they want to do things that peaceful, rational people would defend against.
They want guns in the hands of violent, terroristic people because they wish to visit violence and terror on the American people. They will enable the killing of our children and pretend that the killing will stop when we give up our right to self defense. If we ever give up our right to self defense, the killing will ramp up until they get tired of killing. They hate our self defense because it stands in the way of their planned tyranny. If I am a Republican elected official, I am going to social media and getting on every media show I can and am listing out every single city which has as official policy to NOT enforce laws on the books. Chicago, Philadelphia, NYC, Baltimore ("space to destroy") for starters.
Then talk about every instance of Democrats not enforcing gun crimes, because the perpetrator was black. And on and on and on. We do NOT need more laws or more rights taken away. We simply need to expose the culture of crime the Left has instituted in this country since Obama in January 2009 by not enforcing crime laws on the books.
Posted by: The ARC of History! at May 30, 2022 03:18 PM Good luck getting that sort of law passed anywhere in the US, but especially places like Texas. It's a liberal fantasy. But out there with these natives, it must be a temptation to be god, because there's a conflict in every human heart, between the rational and the irrational, between good and evil, and good does not always triumph. Confiscation isn't on the table quite yet. But additional requirements for personal training, liability insurance, yearly licensing, etc. are. Make it hard to be "legally compliant" with the laws in your state to own a firearm(s).
As a felon for not following through on your annual "gun safety" training at the ATF's website the feds can legally take your weapons. That's the idea. What you decide to do is academic at that point. Posted by: Martini Farmer at May 30, 2022 03:40 PM (BFigT) 192

LOL. Laws? We don't need no steenkin laws! Posted by: banks, visa, mastercard, investment firms, etc at May 30, 2022 03:29 PM You laugh, but I don't recall any laws that went into effect that forced corporations to fire people for refusing a "COVID vaccination". Hospitals denied service to people for lack of "vaccination", people were denied entry to places of business due to lack of "vaccination" cards, etc. That was all done without laws being passed. All that has to happen is "social justice" pressure from media and social media on companies to start doing this, similar to how places like Dick's Sporting Goods stopped selling firearms to virtue signal. I would call myself a conspiracy theorist if I said this 3 years ago. After the Plandemic and rigged and stolen election with zero consequences, everything is possible.
