Had phone on charger 15 hours and no more than 50% charged, but at least transfered all information to tablet so have that.
So battery just decided to give up one day or a software issue?

Our dishwasher's drain line sprung a leak the other night. It was pure happenstance that I was in the kitchen and caught on to that fact before too much leaking had occurred.

In attempting to replace it, I found out that the installers for the dishwasher nearly twenty-five years ago had said, "Nah, it'll be fine," with respect to the length of the power line, leaving it too short to pull out the built-in unit fully. So I have to disconnect its power, too, and install an electrical junction box, with additional line behind the dishwasher, to get the "reasonable and expected" power line length.

Then get around to changing out the discharge hose, of course. And "while I'm at it", change out the kitchen sink's faucet and sprayer. Today promises to be fun, what with there also being an obligation on my list being to take a cardiac stress test first thing this morning.

Skip, there are phone repair places that can change out your battery, possibly for less than the cost of a new cheapo smart phone. We've got a few shops scattered around my AO, so I surmise that they are popping up everywhere. Worth a call to a couple, at the least.

38 So far my new fiber connection has been right where it should be at 500 m/sec. Got rid of all the stuff I never watch, and really notice the higher speed on downloading. I had DSL at 8 m/sec, and now its long gone. The installer was fast, considering he had to run the fiber from the outside of the house to my router almost the length of the house in the basement. Fiber underground isn't east, and the 50 dollars a month plus free insulation seems like a huge investment for the company. Cable TV just runs off the pole in my backyard and is easy to install.

Home ownership is maintenance. And maybe a sense of pride. Festung NaCly needs a greenhouse, a water source, and bodies to man the bunkers and trenches.

98 Skip, does your phone have bluetooth enabled? I have found that if my phone is looking for something to connect to, that it drains the battery.

101 Macron wins easily on the 24th, 20% voted Marxist and 26%+ didn't vote at all. Those are votes to be "found" if needed.

One would think that, of all people, the French would be the most wary of seizing and wielding power illegitimately....

103 well the Ukrainians never were active supporters of the Soviet Union and the 14th SS never committed war crimes. There have been no massacres by ethnic Ukrainians against ethnic Russians in the Donbas over the last 8 years.

history is fluid...

112 For more than two years, the 43 million Americans with outstanding student loans have not had to make monthly payments. And, given that Biden has kicked the can down the road yet again, I am beginning to wonder if these 43 million Americans will ever be forced to repay them.

113 Very Very True

But it is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice.

114 We recently bought a Samsung TV. No ads on ours, but the interface / remote is absolute shit.

We have three other TVs in the house that get significant usage. All 6-8 years old. The remote / interface is simple to understand and simple to use. Whatever happened to the idea that if it ain't broke, don't fix it ???

117 101. I read yesterday that France has very strict voting laws. No mail in ballots, one day voting, you must present ID. Tough to cheat under those conditions.

120 TV's suck:

Yes, they do

So buy one, and never give it a connection to the internet

Then buy a good BluRay, one that does not pull any of those games. And use IT to do any internet connecting you need to do

121 Any thoughts about using a projector instead of a monitor? While I'll freely admit that the OLED monitor will have much better color, a projector will get you a much larger viewing area. I don't know what's more important to you.

122 They're one step away from blipverts.

I have the same on my 65" Hisense, but since all video comes from the X Box One X I've never seen it. My Nvidia Shield tube is infested with it, though.
