Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Rant: Minimalist EditionLenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the capitalist system was to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily; and while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some. The sight of this arbitrary rearrangement of riches strikes not only at security, but at confidence in the existing distribution of wealth. Those to whom the system brings windfalls, beyond their deserts and even beyond their expectations or desires, become 'profiteers', who are the object of the hatred of the bourgeoisie, whom the inflationism has impoverished, not less than of the proletariat. As the inflation proceeds and the value of the currency fluctuates wildly from month to month, all permanent relations between debtors and creditors, which form the ultimate foundation of capitalism, become so utterly disordered as to be almost meaningless; and the process of wealth-getting degenerates into a gamble and a lottery. Lenin was certainly right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose. -- John Maynard Keynes And here are the latest numbers! Inflation is hammering the voters who will soon decide some key midterm races Ya think? This is going to turn into a race. Will the Democrat/Socialist/Progressive complex destroy America using Lenin's best tool before the people wake up and vote them out of office? At this point there is no more room for error. Anyone who votes for a Democrat is supporting the destruction of traditional society, the rule of law, free markets, and the concept of a free people. Unfortunately there are Republican candidates who are just as bad! Yesterday Ace wrote about Trump's endorsement of Mehmet Oz for the Republican nomination for U.S. senate in Pennsylvania. There was a spirited discussion, some of which was devoted to the idea that since Oz is an outsider and not part of the McConnell cabal of GOPe scum; he should be supported against the establishment candidate, in spite of his stances on stuff like guns and other hot-button issues for conservatives. Yeah...about that! Dr. Oz was an early promoter of 'trans children', including surgery. So the guy is for gun control and has expressed support for the mutilation of children and its attendant destruction of traditional societal norms. And while he was a superb cardio-thoracic surgeon, his scientific thinking devolved into a mess of holistic, new-age nonsense. Supporting him is a classic example of settling, and it is time to stop doing that. What would America get with a Senator Oz? Probably a smarter version of Mitt Romney with the added penalty of a gun-control advocate. Do we really need another nominal Republican who revels in stabbing the conservative movement in the back every chance he gets? Trump should not have endorsed him...simply staying out of the discussion would have served him well. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Inflation is a real issue. What we are seeing today is most likely fallout from 2020 and the "pause," and it will only get worse from here.
Interestingly, if you use the 1980 definition we have inflation closer to 20-25%. This is pretty evident via any trip to the grocery store. CBD, it is correct to view inflation not as a rise in prices but a loss of purchasing power. The Dollar is worth less now, and it will continue to decline for quite some time. The fix is not an overnight one. Posted by: Witchdoktor at April 12, 2022 11:20 AM (lW8WD) 99
Does Trump make his endorsements based on his own first hand knowledge of a person, or does he get some sort of read-out?
If he's solely making a decision to endorse someone running for office that's one thing. If he's taking advice from others that's different. In either case someone is not doing their homework. Posted by: Martini Farmer at April 12, 2022 11:20 AM (BFigT) 100

It's a double whammy too- your money pays for less, but because you have "more" of it, and income tax is not indexed for inflation, you get to pay even more in, at higher rates. But also, static taxes, like sales tax, go up for you to, since you pay on the inflated amount. So I guess it's a triple whammy. Otoh, long term loans get really cheap, I guess.

This is going to turn into a race. Will the Democrat/Socialist/Progressive complex destroy America using Lenin's best tool before the people wake up and vote them out of office?
++++ They want to, and the Republicans are also a part of that Complex. But there is another factor: the rest of the world. There should have been a blow-up in the aftermath of the Financial Crisis, but there wasn't because *every* country debased their currencies at the same time and by approximately the same amounts. We did it, the ECB did it, the Bank of Japan did it, Korea did it, China did it, Canada did it, etc. It was an orchestrated debasement that kept *relative* movement fairly small. Post-COVID, I suspect that there are too many other complications to get every major central bank in the world to push the same coordinated policies, and the dislocations *will* happen this time. They're already starting. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at April 12, 2022 11:23 AM (DU+/6) 120

The virus is now embedded in our world. But there are steps we can take to keep it at bay while we continue to live our lives. My favorite comment? My takeaway is: Keep mask and vax mandates in place. Of course, that's my plan. And don't trust governments, The WHO, The NHS or The CDC. Of course, I've followed that from the beginning too. Surviving is a lot of work but it's worth it. Guess xe plans to wear a mask for all eternity, if COVID is here to stay. Even though cars can't take that much? Even though ethanol produces reduced mileage? Even though there are already grain shortages? *biden is allowing up to 15% ethanol not mandating it. It's an empty gesture. Most refineries won't go that route anyway due to the aforementioned issues with that high a concentration or ethanol.
But the media will report that "he's doing something about the high cost of gas." Which is what the junta wanted. And when word trickles back to the administration that there wasn't a move to 15% the oil industry will once again be the boggyman and thus another push for EV's. A little water in the fuel won't hurt anything. Actually increases RON.
Vought F4U Corsair had water injection, and that feature saved a few lives because when the pilot switched it on there was no way a Zero could catch it. Posted by: CZ = FNG To Remain Silent Because, FNG at April 12, 2022 11:35 AM (MkuC5) Early '60's Olds F85 cars with the turbocharged V8 also had water/alcohol injection as an anti-knock agent. The fluid was stored in a separate bottle, and pumped into the intake on demand. Putting alcohol into fuel tanks is generally stupid. Back after looking into getting ethanol out of gasoline.
Looks like ethanol will move into water separating from the gasoline. You then have either pour off the gas from the top or get the water out of the bottom of the container another way. You can put food coloring in the water you add to make it easier to see where the water/gas levels are in the container. I think a 55gal drum with a spirit glass would work; but, you have to be able to mix/agitate the gas and water. That would be work. This elevation of Trump to sainthood
To be terribly pedantic, nobody's elevating Trump to sainthood. For one thing he's not RC. For another thing, it's highly unlikely even if he were RC he would meet the criteria at this point, which are highly stringent. It is usually a fairly long process and involves miracles being attributed to him which don't include a strong economy and energy independency And you've never struck me as being particularly religious type, JoeXiden, so why don't you just say-which IS what you meant-that you don't like people regarding him as a faultless hero-which I haven't actually seen anyone do. Trump isn't perfect and makes mistakes like we all do.
He seemed much better last time around because all his major competition were busy shooting themselves in the head buying into Democrat narratives. (Helllllooooo, Ted Cruz!!!) And Trump had his ear to the ground listening to what the voters wanted and what they did not want. Acceptance of child grooming and encouragement of irreversible surgical/ hormonal mutilation by teachers and other trusted adults in the care of other people's children is going to be a huge shoot yourself in the head policy debate. If I were running the RNC, at this very moment I'd be scouring the internet, etc for any Democrat running for any office making grooming or supporting mutilation remarks. And these would make their appearance roughly 6 weeks out from the election. Trump having been in Hollywood probably knows some of the damaged trannie children of celebs, so may think it's not a thing. He needs to think about how he'd feel if he found out that when Baron was 4-5 year old, he was being encouraged to chop off his penis and become a girl or become some grooming teacher's boy toy. Is it possible that Trump owns Oz for his endorsement? I mean Trump can't go with the establishment republican, and obviously not the democrat.
Oz has a chance, and isn't backed by anyone... if he wins - he owes that seat to Trump, which is better than it being owed to a democrat or McConnell. Sure, he could turn is back on day 1... I guess you gotta take the chance... I dunno. Posted by: Reality Man at April 12, 2022 01:12 PM (XTMvj) 472
