His entire problem with covid is Democrat created.
Its his own party's fault that he didn't simply declare covid done in the first six months of his presidency. The party organs should have just fallen in line with the attempt in May, but they didn't. They held onto covid like a security blanket and pumped up Delta as the worst thing ever.
Republicans moved on. Democrats stayed behind. The idea that Biden will ever be able to convincingly declare victory over covid (never mind the fact that he doesn't seem to want to) is silly. If the media hadn't spent 20 years destroying their credibility with the public (going into overdrive starting in 2015 with the rise of Trump and then heading over the cliff in 2019 with covid), then they could potentially persuade the people of Biden's victory no matter what.
They can't. There's a reason Biden's numbers are in the 30s according to RCP, and it's not because the media still works.

I live in Manhattan. Nearly everyone walking around OUTSIDE, by themselves, is wearing a fucking mask. I would say close to 90%. There is no outdoor mask mandate. The only study claiming masks work was that AZ study that was commissioned by the school teachers union, and that study was sloppy bullshit and has been repeatedly debunked. One of the many errors in it was the fact that they counted something like 40 AZ "schools" that weren't actual schools -- they were correspondence schools or "virtual learning" centers that had no actual campus or in-person students, but hey masks worked great in those non-existent school buildings that no students ever actually attended!
And there are numerous scientifically-valid studies that have shown that masks provide close to ZERO protection from the virus, at enormous cost to children's language and social development.
But the "party of science" and the "we follow the science" types ignore the independent scientific studies that were competently performed, and instead continually refer to the error-riddled, scientifically-debunked, politically-motivated, garbage AZ study.

Funny thing. In Feb 2020, the stock was basically at $32. It's now at $51. You would have made a good return on PFE, but you would have made a lot more on ZOOM, PELO, or a number of other pandemic stocks in a similar period (before the pandemic stock crash, of course). Why hasn't PFE quadrupled in that same period? There might be some litigation risk that the market is pricing into PFE.

Example: What if a car full of kids cuts off the truck and the truck has to decide between smashing that car or trying to avoid it, with a high likelihood of smashing into a bus full of kids?

Aug. 11, 2019, Pfizer closing price per share: $34.46
The 2021 high closing price (Dec. 19) was $59.48
But Pfizer's stock price has also not fallen off as much as Moderna's has.
Moderna is currently trading at @ $161 per share (down from the @ $450 pandemic high), while Pfizer is currently trading at @ $51 per share.

It is nowhere "mostly solved". All systems to date, in normal driving situations, would produce fatalities at a rate of 1/hour. The whole hype over self-driving AIs is just hype. There is no autonomous system that can handle movement around people driving. They do it in simulations and they are constantly having catastrophic failures. They only work when all other vehicles are also centrally controlled and your autonomy is forbidden. It's so ridiculous how unfamiliar people are with the state of the art.

As of yesterday, 844,948 confirmed cases and 11,547 deaths (no clear definition of whether from/with) for a mortality rate of 1.37%. And we probably have one of the highest rates of comorbidities in the nation.
It stratifies by age group as well. In the 0-10 group, we've had 2 deaths in 99,447 cases.

You can get away with rule by committee during good times. It won't work well, but you'll survive it. Rule by committee during not-good times is a disaster because the constant empire building, competing influence networks, backstabbing and betrayal, shifting alliances, etc. - all the shit that's endemic in committee management of large organizations - immediately causes catastrophic failure.
This is, by the way, what I think happened (essentially) with Afghanistan policy and withdrawal. Nobody was in charge of it, and various politburo members were using their own networks and own intelligence and pursuing their own goals and there was no integration or strategic direction.

Last I saw there was like 35% reduction in symptoms/death for the vaxxed, and even in the best of times (early) it was maybe 70%. But this little graphic claims much more than that (98% effective? ... not sure how they did that math)

All those systems constantly have a "safety driver" switching it off and taking control. In other words, they are as autonomous as your car that parks itself. You put it into a specific mode in a controlled situation and for a short time it actuates and does something. Vehicles cannot navigate in a system with other vehicles driven by people without you being there to keep them from killing people. And the frequency of your involvement range from infrequently for long hull tractors in the artic to once every 10 seconds in a crowded urban environment.

I'm livid I caved and got the J ampersand J in the first place, which I did only because two medical professionals I trust, and who are not COVID crazy, advised that I should if only to protect my parents.
And now everything that's come out makes me doubt the reliability of their advice, not so much that they are unreliable but that the information on which they rely is unreliable.

I got the J&J after having a very bad time with Covid in January 2021. That is because I have autoimmune issues with subsidiary problems from that and was advised by my doctor's team to do so. A couple of days after my shot, the FDA pulled J&J due to clotting issues. About two months after the vaxx, got a severe flare of my condition that lasted most of summer 2021. Now, I am recovering from a new Covid infection from January 2022.
No, I won't be getting any booster shots.
