With Democrat Control of Senate Due to be Lost, Leftwing Ideologue and Democrat Partisan Steven Breyer Announces Retirement

Brandon vows to nominate the first black female justice.

Is Kamala finally positioned for success?

Meanwhile: does Sonia Sotomayor's intemperate rant give away that a preliminary vote was taken and Roe is going to be overturned or rendered dead letter?

Let us all remember that for each and every shriek of racism that will be leveled at whomever dares opposing his black female pick. Some "racial jungles" are better than others.

Incidentally, I don't care what color a SCOTUS justice is. They could be all black for all it matters, as long as they uphold the true meaning of the Constitution. Now, I'll go laugh at that impossible prospect.

3. Hillary confirmed as VP because she still has brutal blackmail info on 95% of DC insiders, which has been true for 30 years;

4. Something Something . . . Biden . . . whoops!! Whoopsie!!!

5. Hillary is president before 2024 general election. Trump runs against her. Armageddon occurs.

Our entire government was suborned from 2015 - 2020 to simultaneously protect Hillary Clinton from Justice and to get revenge on Trump for beating her. She still runs things in the background now, even with Shit My Pants in office.

202 O/T but did you see that piece in some science journal yesterday, the archeology and science behind the find that a SMOD occurrence fried an early iron-age city to glass in about 3,000 B.C.?

Estimated energy 100 times Hiroshima?

Not just that, but the chemistry of the event was such that the area for a 50 km radius was salted so the site was barren for centuries.

And here is what got me the most. The city, a major center of commerce and culture and power, in today's Jordan valley, not far from the dead sea, had been in existence for 3,000 years before SMOD.

Makes our young little republic seem like a blip, no?

The oral history of that event led to the story in the old testament of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Given how the Senate has to do business with a lot of unanimous consent, the Republicans COULD if so inclined, more or less make the chamber stop in its tracks by simply requiring votes, quorum calls, amendments, denying unanimous consent, etc.

Even at the cmte level, this can happen as if you remember, the Dem minority forced a delay in Kavanaugh's confirmation so as to get more dirt on him.

No, ask Rhomboid. The Senate rules have a lot of potential for mischief even in the minority apart from the filibuster. There is all sorts of requirements, holds, unanimous consent motions, and so on. The House is majoritarian and can shut down a minority quickly. The Senate, not so much. That is why the kabuki dance on filibuster was pretty much going to fail due to senior senators liking their power that way.

354 That is the hidden part that people are not considering. With a weak presidency like the Biden junta plus a 50-50 Senate. Dems in red or purple states are not wanting to defend a Scotus vote on an obvious nutjob. The BBB and voting bills are enough of an issue along with the economy, etc.

So, the junta probably was informed early January that Breyer was going to retire (usual courtesy by departing justice) after the panicky court packing proposals by the Dems went toes up. So, what is going on now is a fan dance between the Dems on the Senate Judiciary who have their own proteges, Breyer if he wishes, and the DOJ/WH political and judicial operations. Key donor and interest groups are being consulted for their takes. The whole operation is fairly massive as these seats rarely become open and potential divisions and a failed nomination can occur if someone's nose is out of joint. Witness the Harriet Miers collapse or Reagan's two strikes in 86, and so on.

The political team does not want another disaster on hand via a collapsed nomination and the key Dem senators do not want to defend an indefensible idiot. Interest groups want a reliable nominee and so on.

She certainly has a faction (call it the Mensheviks). Regular Democrats in the states and counties who aren't necessarily on her team, but who wouldn't be opposed to her, stole the election for Biden, while the Obama/Squad faction (call them the Bolsheviks) were expecting to lose. The Bolsheviks are adamantly opposed to the Mensheviks taking power. Right now what we have is no one in charge, with an uneasy truce between the two factions. If Hillary were to make a move to consolidate power in her hands, the sh*t would hit the fan.

July 5. Biden picks Romney as VP, says national unity needed for the world crisis.

But Kamaltoe is very stupid and unlikeable and has very low standing with the public, so they want to get rid of her, but she won't take the hint (from all the shitty assignments Joe's handlers have dumped on her) and quit. So their fantasy is to appoint her to some prestigious position (like being a SCOTUS justice) that will require her to resign as VP. She'll never do it, but it's fun for the left to have the dream.

436 426 The nominee will be Ketanjki Brown Jackson.
This is why they made Merrick Garland Attorney General, to put her on the DC Circuit, and now it is harder to vote against her after she was confirmed for a lower seat 53-47.

53-47 is not exactly a voice vote on the floor like Gorsuch got to get on the 10th Circuit.

That's threadbare on a lower court. Plenty of room for a fight.

I think the ideal situation would be for Schumer, looking like he's in control, to go through all the machinations to get Biden's first nominee through the committee and then to a floor vote where Mitch, actually extending his pimp hand, unites the Republican caucus against the nominee and gets Manchin to side with him. Manchin, of course, having just come off of an episode where he increased his popularity in his home state by being a thorn in Biden's side.

It would take months of the senate's schedule and leave the Democrats with nothing but disappointment going into the midterms.

Think about what we all thought would happen when he said he was having a black female for VP. We all thought the worst and what we got was a clown.

Now he's going to put up a supreme court judge with the same qualifications. Who could it be? Another clown maybe?

They're not trying to govern rationally or reasonably. They want the US to look completely doo doo wacko. They need the US to look so divorced from reality that the other countries look elsewhere. That's what this is all about. This is Obama's plan as continued with a 4 year hiatus. ( I wonder if Obama didn't help Trump somehow cause he knew Hillary would not go along with his plan and he couldn't get anyone who would into the nomination. This is all Obama folks. All of it from November 2020 to jan 6 to all the courts refusing to hear any of the fraud from Trump. All of it. Doesn't it look more like Obama than any of the others? Even Hillary wouldn't make it look like this. She wants respect and power not a clown show.

Honestly, I think the more law you study, the poorer and less wise a connection you have with the law and justice in general. At least, that's the overwhelming tendency I've noticed. Stuff that is a no-brainer obvious call starts to get all nuanced and blurry the more law you study and the longer you practice.

481 The anti-Catholic bigot who invented separation of church and state out of whole cloth and declared Korematsu kosher?

C'mon now. Once Hugo Black, you never go back.

Posted by: J.J. Sefton

Look to his later opinions on free speech etc. Black originally supported Gobitis but both him and Justice Douglas changed their votes partially because the US was at war with Nazi Germany and its blood oaths to its leaders. In Engel v. Vitale, the vote was 6-1 on the court and Hugo was more or less arguing consistently that forced speech is not allowed whether a secular pledge or a religious one as a condition of attending schools. His opinion on government aid to religious schools in Everson v. Wall actually cited the Jefferson letter as allowing NJ to aid religious schools regarding bus fares which was later extended by the court.

If you want to exclude justices on grounds of bigotry of one sort or another, then you would clear all the court.
