Rainbow Unicorn Cafe

batswarmday.jpg

Lover doggies.

Little lamb strays too far and is called back by its mama.

Don't mention the Germans.

Dog playing Jenga. He pants a lot, which I think means he's stressed. Which he should be: He's not very good at Jenga.

Dog pitching his new script, The Fast and the Fido-ous.

Cat has the googely-eyes.

I'm not doing nothin', I'm just moving this ball very slowly with this paw, not taking it anywhere, just moving it over here to this other paw... The Long Con.

Puppy playing with his reflection.

Hugs please, now!

Inman: Someone pranks this guy, but then he serves up some non-prank vengeance. (BTW, this may be staged, but eh, let's not analyze it to death.)

Two guys chin up for a fight. One has a strategy of repeatedly punching and kicking the other guy in the face. The other guy has a strategy of taking every punch and kick and showing how much it doesn't hurt him. We'll just have to see which strategy pays off.

Brandy and Andy Tifa out for an elegant night on the town.

The US Navy has been gay for a long time.
I was just reading a local newspaper piece about my late great uncle. The first ship he served on was, get this, the USS Manlove.

Tony's first ship, the USS Manlove (DE-36) was an Evarts-class destroyer escort built for the United States Navy during World War II. The Manlove was named after a sailor killed on the USS Arizona (BB-39) during the Pearl Harbor attack. This ship served in the Pacific theater during the war, her mission was to protect convoys and other ships from Japanese submarines and fighter aircraft, earning five battle stars defending Norman Rockwell's "four freedoms".

Clown show. The lawyer for the defense is a personal injury attorney. The judge brooks no shit. They seem to be pushing for a huge racial conspiracy. Tried to paint the widow as heartless and uncaring just after her husband was shot until the prosecution made them play the full video of her wailing in the car saying she loved her husband and no one would ever love her the way he did.

Yeah, the guy who decided to spend six months in another state 'looking for a lawyer' does not seem to credible to me.

Hell, MLB did nothing to crack down on a lot of guys using roids because chicks (and most fans in general) dig the long ball. Then after MLB's ship gets righted, it turns righteous. F MLB. Barry Bonds was not named in the Mitchell report AND he had earned HOF worthiness before the Sosa-McGwire chase. He belongs. Clemens belongs. Let's go back and remove all the guys who were using crank (amphetamines) for YEARS in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's.... Amphetamines are much better for enhancing performance in baseball than roids. Roids will give you power to mash the ball, but crank gives you energy and focus. Focus is critical to hitting, pitching, fielding, etc.

363 Genuine, sourced from Great Britan "Newcastle Ale" is perhaps my favorite beer. If not *the* favorite, then certainly in the Top Five.

The weak imitation brewed by Molson's in Canada isn't miles off of the mark, but enough so that one knows they're not sippin' the real thing.

Same for Sapporo of Japan. But this time, the Molson's counterfeit actually does border on being a crime in bottled form.

416 Just checked, most farm raised foods have almost 0 Omega 3's. I wonder why?
Posted by: RedFinger

That's actually not true. Omega 3's are polyunsaturated fatty acids. One form alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), can be obtained from certain plants. Other forms (EPA and DHA) can only be obtained from animals, primarily fish but also eggs and some amounts from land animals, with industrial-scale meat production resulting in poor amounts. Feeding cattle grain rather than grasses lowers the available omega 3's (in favor of omega 6's, which are also necessary but not to the extent most Americans get). Also note that farm-raised fish are deficient compared to fish raised in the wild.

Posted by: SFGoth at January 25, 2022 09:06 PM (KAi1n)

417 Yes, but pigs get vitamin D from the sun if they are outdoors, which converts to omega 3s. That's why lard used to be a healthy fat. That's not true for pigs raised inside, on crappy diets. And then they hydrogenate it, to make things worse.

"...but a big question on many parents' minds is whether they will end up owing on their taxes next year if they immediately spend the money. For some parents, the answer is probably yes, they will end up owing money next tax season. Others will likely be fine. But all eligible parents should review their finances before spending the payments, financial experts say. "

489 347 314 MLB was on the verge of extinction when the Sosa-McGwire home run race bailed it out. MLB knew exactly what was going on and rode that show hard.

In the Spring when they had the Ukrainians online, advancing into a disputed area, they were going to support and spy with naval ships but the Turks didn't let them through and the Russians moved enough troops to the border to cool down the situation.

The U army is still parked out there as far as I can tell.

what's fun is that this rumor, if true, means they're going to write off the entire "woke Dr. Who" period as one that never really happened. Or something, it's Dr. Who, they'll come up with some stupid bullshit to explain it.

Remember that planet where they "cloned" him and the cute blonde popped out? Doctor Karen was really a clone from there and the "real" Doctor just escaped.

607 Big Big Pete Rose fan as he was one of my childhood idols but Black JEM is spot on, he knew what he was doing was wrong and did it anyway THEN he had the gall to say with a straight face for years that it wasn't me and the. Said oh yeah my bad, I doed it. Sorry Pete, no vote from me.

Bonds is another one... an absolute shoo-in as he was the best player in the game for a number of years, then he turned 40, gained a shoe size and a hat size, and who knows how many shirt sizes and he wasn't juicing.. nah, BB - you aren't in either.

613 417 Yes, but pigs get vitamin D from the sun if they are outdoors, which converts to omega 3s.
----
Vitamin D is a sterol, a tricyclic molecule whereas omega-3s are 'straight-chain' unsaturated carboxylic acids. I don't think the two actually meet anywhere.
