The US Navy has been gay for a long time. I was just reading a local newspaper piece about my late great uncle. The first ship he served on was, get this, the USS Manlove. Tony's first ship, the USS Manlove (DE-36) was an Evarts-class destroyer escort built for the United States Navy during World War II. The Manlove was named after a sailor killed on the USS Arizona (BB-39) during the Pearl Harbor attack. This ship served in the Pacific theater during the war, her mission was to protect convoys and other ships from Japanese submarines and fighter aircraft, earning five battle stars defending Norman Rockwell's "four freedoms". I think Fallout really gave people the impression that post apocalyptical shit was really popular (and it is, in a way.) Fallout though does not glory in the sheer misery of it all. The ones that roll hard into the apocalypse part of the post-apocalypse kind of lose steam. It IS depressing if there is no joy in the world and without some sort of humor or other redeeming/light hearted notes, it just gets repressive.

MLB was on the verge of extinction when the Sosa-McGwire home run race bailed it out. MLB knew exactly what was going on and rode that show hard. Hell, MLB did nothing to crack down on a lot of guys using roids because chicks (and most fans in general) dig the long ball. Then after MLB's ship gets righted, it turns righteous. F MLB. Barry Bonds was not named in the Mitchell report AND he had earned HOF worthiness before the Sosa-McGwire chase. He belongs. Clemens belongs. Let's go back and remove all the guys who were using crank (amphetamines) for YEARS in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's.... Amphetamines are much better for enhancing performance in baseball than roids. Roids will give you power to mash the ball, but crank gives you energy and focus. Focus is critical to hitting, pitching, fielding, etc.

Just checked, most farm raised foods have almost 0 Omega 3's. I wonder why?
Posted by: RedFinger That's actually not true. Omega 3's are polyunsaturated fatty acids. One form alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), can be obtained from certain plants. Other forms (EPA and DHA) can only be obtained from animals, primarily fish but also eggs and some amounts from land animals, with industrial-scale meat production resulting in poor amounts. Feeding cattle grain rather than grasses lowers the available omega 3's (in favor of omega 6's, which are also necessary but not to the extent most Americans get). Also note that farm-raised fish are deficient compared to fish raised in the wild. Posted by: SFGoth at January 25, 2022 09:06 PM (KAi1n) 417
Yes, but pigs get vitamin D from the sun if they are outdoors, which converts to omega 3s. That's why lard used to be a healthy fat. That's not true for pigs raised inside, on crappy diets. And then they hydrogenate it, to make things worse.

347 314 MLB was on the verge of extinction when the Sosa-McGwire home run race bailed it out.
