Poor dog thinks he's ugly!

Rainbow seen from elevation is almost a complete circle.

ICYMI, the Penguin Uber Taxi clip, with the story. The penguin had jumped on the boat to escape a seal lion. They drove the boat around to bring him back to his friends.

It was all just a wonderful dream... or was it???

Invasion of the sea otters.

Dog is literally rolling the first ball of a snowman.

Possibly cute, or she's the anti-Christ.

20 Seattle Public Schools' Ethnic Studies Program Manager is as fucked in the head as you'd imagine.

She married a convicted child molester. She lied about most of her upbringing saying her father was a drug using gang member and she grew up poor. She was actually middle class, her dad wasn't in a gang, and she had a stay at home mom.

Worse still, the courts granted custody of her daughter to this thing. Her daughter is now diagnosed as having a serious emotional disturbance, extremely low social skills, and has decided she's transgender.

He did a nice job with that water landing; clearly his landing gear had failed, so wear to land? If you try to slide in on the beach, you'll probably flip and definitely wreck the aircraft; deep water and it sinks. Landing in just a few feet of water protects the craft; I think it should have been restored easily.

This absolute divide, this ugly partisanship, this unacceptance by the left of the legitimacy of the ideas of the right, what does this image convey to Virginia citizens living in towns and cities, in gated communities, apartments, on the streets, in stores, restaurants?

Does this transmit? Will the left wear masks as badges, going forth for years to come? Will attendance at high school basketball games evolve into the masked on one side, the unmasked on other?

Will high school junior girls wearing masks shun all boys that go unmasked?

97 IIRC the Doolittle raid did in fact use incendiaries as they "made more of an impression" and had the potential to destroy a lot of the wooden and/or bamboo structures in the civilian areas bombed.

B-25's are badass. Not many surviving that are flyable. The B-24 "Liberator" is even rarer.

279 CAF was infamous in the '60s and even the '70s for being a bit careless.

Their F-82 was rendered unflyable after a belly landing destroyed the propellers. They could never find another set. USAF now has the plane.

Their FG-1D Corsair has crashed at least once and LTV rebuilt it for them.

The Ha. 112 Buchon has crashed a couple times and been rebuilt a couple times.

As a military desk-jockey, I am nonetheless proud that I can identify a bunch of aircraft entirely by sound.

A-10s, F-16s, F-15s - they all have their own voice.

Spend a month listening to C-17s taking off at 0600 and flying directly over my hotel. When I got home, it took me a while to get used to the *absence* of that sound.

367 Restoration of warbirds is very different than it was even 20 years ago. It all changed once they started being worth multiple millions. The WW2 era planes were mostly framing and skinning, so for a while now the restoration mostly consists of building a new plane to original specs around some vintage parts. The value when finished justifies all the skilled hand work. The biggest hurdle in the long run may be engines. Sooner or later the big piston engines may run out as it has been decades since anyone built any.

"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say goodbye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? After all, you knew ahead of time that those bluecaps were out at night for no good purpose. And you could be sure ahead of time that you'd be cracking the skull of a cutthroat."

Amazing guy. I talked to him a couple of times - he came back to the same event and I was assigned to cover it, so it was nice to see him recognize me.

He flew P-40s, P-47s and P-51s and when I asked him which he liked best, he gave me a look like I was stupid. "The P-51!" He said it was like a high-end sports car. The P-47 was a flying brick. Didn't care for the P-40, either.

Sights like that are rare. The day of the cease fire in Desert Storm, I was flying with the CG up to our forward units. I remember looking down and seeing tank after tank after tank all the way to the horizon. I was just stunned. No army on earth could stand up to us that day.

449 Seeing the pics from the new VA governor addressing the statehouse reps, the Ds all masked up, eyes and body language directing hatred, the Rs unmasked, applauding Youngkin, make me wonder.

I much prefer being told by the POTATUS to have a "winter of severe illness and death", that I am a racist domestic terrorist if I disagree on even one point on his ideology, my speech should be prevented and I should have the national guard throw me in prison and seize my bank account for going against the Cult's Covid narrative.

I'd gladly have you pay a full dollar per gallon extra so long as I don't have to deal with those tweets.

I've got all the toilet paper one man can use, too, so I'm fine with that being rationed now. What's that? Oh, my wife has her own supply. Some guy brings it to her every Tuesday. Even puts it on the roll. Pablo, Paulus, Paolo, not sure what his name is.

Takes hours to do it, though.
