State Audit: Gretchen The Witch Whitmer's Government "Undercounted" Nursing Home Deaths By 30% -- Or Perhaps As Much as 40%

Say, didn't we just go through this in New York...? Didn't Andrew Cuomo also "undercount" (whoops!) nursing home deaths by right around 40%...?

Is that the number they jointly agreed they could get away with?

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's administration undercounted the COVID-19 deaths in the state's long-term care facilities by 30%, according to a state auditor general report reviewed by Fox News.
The report, which is expected to be publicly released on Monday, is likely to renew criticism of the Democratic governor's performance during the pandemic.
Michigan state Rep. Steven Johnson, a Republican, told Fox News Digital in a Thursday phone call that Whitmer is "well known" for her executive order "to place COVID-positive patients into nursing homes."

I'm not being hyperbolic: I think they were all on the same phone call coordinating their response. Cuomo, Whitmer, Murphy, and Wolf.

"And when we were looking into this to see just how deadly that policy was, the nursing home death numbers we received from the department weren't including everything," Johnson said, confirming the number in the report was 30%.

Which is what Cuomo did.

Johnson said there are "some serious questions that have to be asked" about the alleged undercounting and that "it does appear the people of Michigan were misled as to just how many nursing home deaths there were" due to Whitmer's policies.

Which is what Cuomo did.

"Seeing that it's actually 30% higher is quite significant -- we're talking about thousands of lives that were not initially included in the department's count," Johnson continued.

"Thousands of lives" is the same magnitude of the number of deaths that Cuomo covered up. I think something like 15,000.

The Michigan House Oversight Committee chairman also said that the committee "plans to hold hearings on this in the near future."

Unbelievably -- or perhaps inevitably -- Whitmer used the exact same dodge to "undercount" nursing home deaths that Cuomo did.

When a nursing home patient finally got so sick that he finally got sent to the ICU -- and then died -- Cuomo decided that wasn't a nursing home death. That was an "ICU death."

And Whitmer claims the same thing -- once she's gotten you so sick, due to her policy of cramming covid-positive patients in your room with you, that you're finally sent to the ICU with little expectation that you'll ever come back, she says you're no longer a resident of the nursing home.

You're expected to be a resident of A Coffin, and thus not a resident of a nursing home under the law.

Elizabeth Hertel, the director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, claimed the auditor general's report was inaccurate due to the analysis not using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) definition of a long-term facility COVID death.

"Residents not expected to return to the long-term care facility are excluded from the count. MDHHS has always required long-term care COVID-19 deaths be reported consistent with this standard set by the federal government," she continued.

She means: People who are not expected to return to the nursing home because they are expected to DIE are removed from the list of "nursing home residents" to lower the numbers of "nursing home deaths."

Which is exactly what Cuomo did.

The.

Exact.

Same.

Numerical.

Fvckery.

The number could be higher, however, with some reporters saying the number of undercounted deaths could be north of 40%.
"Three in 10 [bodies] went uncounted, according to the auditor general," journalist Charlie LeDuff told Fox News Digital in a Thursday email. "When added to the state's total, death in Michigan's long-term care facilities are in fact 42% higher than are being reported, which makes Whitmer's Michigan no better than Cuomo's New York."

Whitmer refused to comment.

I think the second half of that is more damning if true. the feds TOLD THEM to count it that way. that means this probably happened in more states than just the 5 we know of.

Wayne County (Detroit and suburbs) is a Democrat machine county. They can manufacture all the votes they need to win. Western and Northern Michigan are pretty solid conservative/Republican.
If the corruption in Wayne County could be held down or even stopped, Republicans might actually take control of the state.
But of course, Hogmartin moved out of Michigan, so maybe not. Alton Jackson is still there, though.

States that followed the common sense/CDC normal guidelines on not returning infected people to nursing homes.

What were the comparative fatality rates between the two kinds of policies, in both nursing home residents, and in that age demo overall?

That's your "murder" number - if there is one. I know Phil Kerpen focused on this precise issue early on, not sure whether he stuck with it or if someone else has done these numbers.

YOUNG covid-sick patients were also admitted to nursing homes for treatment. Remember the 20-year old kid in Michigan who tried to kill his elderly roommate in a NURSING HOME? The kid was placed there and not a hospital- intentionally.

121 rhomboid. I can only speak to one independent, assisted living and memory care home in Dayton OH. Until mom had her stroke she lived in it. A handful of positives for the lung rot in 2020 but zero deaths. Several of the positives were treated in house and survived. Until mom went into skilled nursing in Oct 2020 I followed the numbers and then quit charting them. They seemed to swing upward for positives and a few deaths based on the quality of the home. One home isn't always like another. If you can afford quality, we could you have a better chance of surviving. Poor and/or Medicaid you're screwed.

Not quite. The wind shifting here is that some of the nursing home deaths were *too early*, and others were *too late* because they came after docs in other states got their nursing home deaths to a fraction of the initial amounts due to figuring out the CDC was full of shit on treatment.

In places like NYS and IL they were throwing young homeless with COVID into nursing homes; in other places, they were running alternative treatment protocols and sealing off wings with sheets of plastic.

Getting control of the Dardanelles has been a Russian objective for centuries. Western Europe has typically been trying to help them achieve that rather than opposing it for most of that time. Why we should care about that now is a serious question. Russia having the Ukraine in the past was insufficient to achieve that goal.

Twice a year. We haven't had the sale since the Chinese vid started. I haven't heard if the sale coming up will be cancelled, but I wonder, because so many churches rely on these events.

That's largely because the GOP are cowards and never fight back. They let Democrats pummel the people and do nothing substantive to fight back. It's pretty clear that Democrats are at war with most of the country, and most Republicans have their thumbs up their asses and spout more platitudes then Kevin McCarthy trying to sell reverse mortgages. Until someone in the GOP has the temerity to grow some stones and turn the hammer back on Democrats, they will carry on and continue to kill us. The only way you win a war of attrition is by stacking more bodies like cordwood then you opponent, and convince them that battle is futile. I would disagree. GOPe officeholders typically come from either political families, business execs/investor class, or climbing the ladder types. For the most part, they don't care or actually despise middle and lower class constituents that have to work for a living.

GOP officeholders relate much better to the donor class which is to the left of their constituents normally. See Mitt Romney as a classic example--the 47 percent writeoff, severely conservative, etc. All of these were also reflected by McCain such as hobbits, build the dang wall, etc. They see their own constituents as stupid, possibly racists, nativists, clinging to guns and religion, etc. while they believe themselves to be enlightened statesmen.

321 My husband used to talk about a funeral that he went to, for the son of one of his Russian workers. The son died of a drug overdose. It was very ritualized and the mom tried to hold onto the coffin, when they started to lower it into the grave.

We have problems dealing with death because we don't really have the customs for handling it. It's a shame because that's really when you'd like to be able to just follow what everyone has always done.

325 Much like what happened in NY, a "field hospital" of sorts was set up in a convention center (Cobo Center, now called TCF center, I think, they keep changing the name). 1000 beds installed, intended to be used for recuperating Covid patients who didn't require full hospital care. Only a few patients were treated and instead the nursing homes had to accept them. Before the first wave of Covid was over the temporary hospital was dismantled. The whole useless exercise cost a couple of million bucks from what I recall.

Waste & Stupidity. There will be no controversy around Whitmer. She is a Dem, and considered a rising star, and the Michigan AG is a pal, unlike Cuomo, whose job was craved by the NY AG until he had to bail.

That's Man 1. Now if she had any animus or intention for that outcome that's murder 1.

She knew the disease was highly contagious.
She knew the elderly had a high risk of death if exposed.
She knew it takes special isolation to prevent the spread of disease in any close quarters living situation.

If she made no attempt to verify special isolation could be performed by long term care facilities (likely she was warned in writing along with verbally many times they could not) she is culpable at the minimum of Man 1.

We have plenty of customs. We just reject them all because they either have a religious connotation of hope for salvation, resurrection and a life to come. Along with lots of niche culture observances. My family still does wakes. I'm lucky I survived the last one.

Exactly. The funeral Mass is a formal ritual that does just that. The familiar prayers and Eucharist, plus a sermon that is done by a calm priest reduces the emotional level of the participants, especially the family who are partly numb and very worn out.

A luncheon celebration afterward is a chance for the family to greet relatives and friends, tell stories, laugh and release tension.
