On May 27, that thing with the mouse that is fixed by disabling HDCP happened to me again, blockchain ruins everything, the 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti were on their way, AMD's sales grew 93% year-on-year, Freenode completely imploded, Amazon was buying MGM - did that go through? Still under review as of last month it seems - and it was a fine line between working from home and living at work.

In more modern times, the VP did the party's work, making the circuit, having chicken and peas, gladhanding the state and local officials, since the VP represented an important constituencey or region. But Kammie is so unlikeable she's useless for that.

I wish I could have that again. My first Xmas in Denver it had snowed the day before, and the roads were still covered with it.

Three days before Xmas in '89, here in Da Swamp, it snowed and shut down the city. My boss sent me home early, and it still took me 2 hours to accomplish a 30-minute drive. I'd never driven in the white stuff then, but even I knew the rules were simple: Leave extra following space, slow down, and don't change direction abruptly. Most local drivers did not know this. 173 Heard a report of a shooting at a mall in Oak Brook yesterday. Oak Brook is a town west of Chicago that is pretty upscale along with the mall, mostly outdoors, that caters to those type folks.
I had first thought it was a single shooter, shooting because he/she was mad at the world. Seems it was more of a back and forth type shooting.

I'd never driven in the white stuff then, but even I knew the rules were simple: Leave extra following space, slow down, and don't change direction abruptly. Most local drivers did not know this. A simple winter driving tip for those not accustomed to it.
If you have an auto transmission, put it into a lower gear, like one or two. Turn down the radio so you can hear the trans and manually shift. That way, if you do need to stop, the trans will assist in the braking and result in less skidding at slower speeds.

A couple more tips:

Go easy on the accelerator

If you can, find an empty parking lot and practice skidding. It's a good way to get a feel for how the vehicle behaves and lots of fun.

231 The only thing about driving my RWD cars is they were MBs and a BMW, and so there was a certain indefinable pride to having such a car at all, let alone driving it. But my FWD Buick is as comfortable to drive, has more power, and will be cheaper to repair on simple things. I've had good luck with my GM cars, 2 Oldsmobiles and 3 Buicks.

233 The trick with FWD is to remember the front wheels are pulling the front of the car around and the rest of the car generally wants to follow. Your traction however is divided between cornering and accelerating and braking and there is only so much of that to go around.
