I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE AND WE'RE SCREWED

The future does not belong to countries that make an issue over pronouns.

The future does not belong to countries that rely on 'green' energy.

The future does not belong to countries with rotating power outages

The future does not belong to countries that are not energy independent.

The future does not belong to countries with falling birthrates.

The future does not belong to countries with a declining manufacturing base.

The future does not belong to countries that slaughter their babies.

The future does not belong to countries with dozens of genders.

The future does not belong to countries that encourage gender dysphoria.

The future does not belong to countries that have normalized graphic pornography.

The future does not belong to countries that purposely destroys the innocence of their children.

The future does not belong to countries that declares war on half of their citizens.

The future does not belong to countries that gives two sh*ts about climate change.

The future does not belong to countries that pay people not to work.

The future does not belong to countries that try to create more wealth by printing more money.

The future does not belong to countries that allow rioting and looting to go unpunished.

The future does not belong to countries that decriminalize crime.

The future does not belong to countries where people poo in the street.

The future does not belong to countries where mental illness is a civil right.

The future does not belong to countries run by elites who think the country needs to be "fundamentally transformed."

The future does not belong to countries run by elites who think they're smart enough to pull off a Great Reset.

The future does not belong to countries without borders.

The future does not belong to countries whose people have forgotten how to govern themselves.

The future does not belong to countries run by elites who hate it.

Wednesday Who Dis: I've always been a fan of Teri Garr. She's attractive in a "girl next door" kind of way that I find very appealing. Plus, she can do comedy and serious roles equally well. For a good example of the latter, I recommend Pack of Lies, a Hallmark movie that punches way above its weight class. One of her early movies was 1970's noir crime comedy The Moonshine War with Irish-Amerixan Patrick McGoohan, who I grew more impressed by the more I read of him. He astounded me when I discovered what big/high-profile roles he had turned down over the years yet still continued to find work:

--Simon Templar (The Saint)
--James Bond, twice, due to the sexual content and violence
--Gandalf (LOTR filmes)(he was Peter Jackson's first choice)
--Dumbledore (the "Harry Potter" films - also a first choice)
--Columbo (to replace Peter Falk, but refused because he thought Falk pretty much owned that character)

He also hated guns, so he insisted his John Drake 'Secret Agent' character never use them. McGoohan was married once, and it lasted until he died, nearly 60 years later. He was an old school conservative Roman Catholic, and, looking at his life, it definitely shows.

31 What you thought health advice would look like

Since the era of COVID started around March 2020, health advice has gone out the window. Actually, it was gone well before that. Or it has been completely illogical.

We have a hunger crisis! We also have an obesity crisis!

We have to address childhood obesity crisis! But don't you dare criticize adult women with obesity, because big is beautiful!

And with regards to COVID, even though there are known lifestyle changes people can make and known treatments of vitamins and supplements people can take to improve their immune systems, no one in medical industry is recommending any of that to world population. It's all "the vaccine is the only thing that will save us".

59 During his first year of college, Robertson and some friends signed up for military duty after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in 1941. He began his military service in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, before being sent to the horse cavalry at Fort Riley, Kansas, and then to officers' school at Fort Knox, Kentucky where he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Armed Forces. From there he was sent to the Engineer School at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. After stateside training he served as a tank commander in the 777th Tank Battalion in the North African campaign. He was standing in the hatch when his tank was hit by enemy fire. His tank crew were killed, but he was blown out of the hatch and survived with shrapnel wounds to his lower legs, the scars of which he still bears. Fully recovered, he went on to serve with the 322nd Combat Engineer Battalion during the European campaign. He was wounded a second time, this one in the right knee during a mortar attack. Again he made a complete recovery.

I would totally forgive college loans to those who actually worked hard, used internships to bolster themselves, and still got screwed because it wasn't the "right" college or the college just ended up being crap despite their overpromotion.

114 At the end of the 1040 there needs to be a line that says calculate 10% of your gross income. Is that number greater than or less than the number above? If it is greater than, your tax bill is 10%. If it is less than, skip this part.

10% income tax has to be a minimum for everyone. You need some skin in the game by all.

Like a makework decision. Ambiguity will lead to another case which will work its way up to SCOTUS. Then they will do the same thing.
Every answer brings more questions, but never a definitive answer.

Seems to be of a sort for most of government, and it keeps the little people fighting each other, so a big win for the not-little people, who are then free to pursue their own ends.

Inflation only occurs because greedy capitalist business owners arbitrarily raise prices because they can, instead of just buying and selling more products. DAMN YOU, CAPITALISTS!!!!111!1

That being said, I can actually understand the Germans' desire for revenge after WWI and some of the Nazi rhetoric does make sense (nationalism and factories, etc.). But the instant they started going for piracy as policy it should have been clear that it wouldn't end well. One of the great travesties of history is that for all the hype around this era nobody makes an attempt to teach *how* it happened.

147 on the plus side - WHY the Smollett verdict yesterday (among other things) is making me more and more optimistic by the day:

Not because this trial by itself meant anything; it was a great public farce, nothing more. But the REAL question in play was; can Jury Trials still function in a hard left city like Chicago? Have the leftist race hustlers really taken over for good, can they really do whatever they want and get away with it?

nd the answer was NO! Not even in one of their power bases like Chicago! I take this to mean that all of the hard left radicalism is being pushed by only a small minority of influential radicals who have managed to place themselves in positions of power; but ordinary people, even in their OWN cities, are not on board with them.

The setup for a catastrophic and sudden fall of the Radicals is advancing every day. They've still got at least a year holding the reins of power; but even that isn't as much fun for them as they thought it would be. Everything is falling apart, and they're shocked that *they* are getting the blame.

Which will happen immediately, perhaps as early as Monday, and when these suits get in front of a judge they will issue a TRO on the law, which the SCOTUS had to know would happen.

195 I love Tales of Wells Fargo. Just yesterday they had one of my favorite episodes: a takeoff on The Tale of Two Cities. Indians have trapped some stage passengers as well as Jim Hardy and a few bandits that robbed the stage, but all the Indians want is a cavalry general who committed a massacre on an Indian village. The general is killed but the Indians do not believe Hardy and says he is trying to escape without turning over the general. One of the bandits is moved by a baby that was on the stage and recalls his own baby and wife who died at the hands of Sherman. When he finds out the Indians plan on killing everyone to be sure the general is killed, the bandit puts on the coat of the dead general and goes out to the Indians.
The episode is done so well I always get a little teary. I love stories of redemption (it's one of the reasons I love Wagner operas so much - most are redemption stories).

Dems keep talking about wanting a European style of high taxes and high benefits. Aside from the incredible anchor on economic growth this causes in those nations, I don't think they fully appreciate how "regressive" (their term) those nations' taxes are. 15-20% VAT (basically, sales) tax? Everyone pays a high, minimum income tax. Gas taxed to the $8+ range. As usual, the wealthy can avoid and mitigate much of this...it's the middle and working class that get truly hosed.

198 My local ski resorts are still closed. Not much snow. So of course the local msm is all a flutter about climate change. Why usually by mid December everything is at full capacity. See, global warming is real people!!!!

Yet last year, several reports were up and running at full capacity before Thanksgiving. Which was very unusual but so is this winter. Typically things get going right around the end of November or the first weekend in December.

Funny though last year there was nothing in the MSM about how global warming is bullshit because we have all this snow.

One more example of how the media manipulates people.

There's already a TRO on enforcement from a Texas Judge, under State Law. so that parts over. I would be surprised if the Texas Law stands, there really a lot of issues that would arise from allowing private parties to enforce the law. Pandora's box, really. I suspect it will end up being too clever by half to stand.

BUT the Texas Law and the Mississippi Law represented two completely different approaches to attacking Roe v Wade. Only one of them had to work; if the Mississippi Law stands, Texas will be glad to drop it's version and pass a copy of the Mississippi Law in its place.

216 The Smollett verdict is great but those celebrating it as a victory of the people over the political establishment should really temper their enthusiasm a bit. I got into this some yesterday; I used to follow Chicago local politics a bit when I was living in MN (since their bullshit rolls downhill to the rest of the region) and it was very clear that they wanted this guy gone once his inept hustle began to unravel and prominent names were named as being involved. It's also useful to understand that the said machine is at war with itself, because Toni Preckwinkle (who pulls SA Kim Foxx's strings) and Lori Lightfoot hate each other and many of the Daley/Emanuel types are sitting it out because their boi put in such a poor showing in the clown show that was the last city election.

There's a strong argument to be made that the reason this became a federal case in the first place was that the city's inept attempt to go after Smollett fell apart (further beclowning themselves for a national audience) so they pulled some favors to get the feds involved.

Governor DeSantis of Florida does. He is proposing some initiatives to tackle the issue, especially how it relates to low-lying areas - which frankly is the entire state.

See, I believe in Milankovitch cycles and think it's probably a good move to gradually accommodate a sea level which is slowly going to rise. Not at the crazy rate of the alarmists. But the earth is going to be hit with more energy in the southern hemisphere where there's more water then the northern. That water is going to slowly expand. As far as CO2? Very good for crops.

But income taxes are nothing like what they once were. Most Euros, even Sweden and Denmark, the poster children of Euro Socialiam have dramatically cut taxes over the past couple of decades.

So when the left says they want to be like Sweden they really have no idea what they are asking for. And when the right fears being like Sweden they also kinda set their hair on fire a bit quickly.

For US that would be about somewhere between $63k and $79k.

One of the most important things spirituality does is it breaks you from linear thinking with respect to time and your place in time, your relationship with others. What you have done, where you are, where you are going. They all start to matter.

He is proposing money for flood mitigation, and the impact of storms. I can think of no reason why the governor of FL would do such a thing, but for CC.

Posted by: zmdavid at December 10, 2021 11:50 AM

Let's consider countries struggling to move up and those struggling to move down: China, striving for dominance, is cracking down on non-standard expressions of gender, for example. The USA, striving for "equity" moves in the other direction.

* The future does not belong to countries with dozens of genders.

* The future does not belong to countries that encourage gender dysphoria.

Also, the Paris Climate Agreements allow China and India leeway on CO2, while imposing restrictions on the West. Because the atmosphere can tell where the CO2 came from.

I don't even think it would take that long. Lotta people that are sitting out a game with excessive penalties will hop back in across all markets.

2-3 years and our Economy would be patently insane with growth.

355 The MSM loses me at "Fake Hate Crime" (Smollet). This frame alone misses the point.

It is in fact an actual hate crime. A crime performed specifically to bring hatred to a group of people, viz. white people generally, more particularly conservative white men and most particularly Trump-supporting white people.

I never voted for the whole "hate crime" / "hate speech" intensifier BS but if they're going there, we need to go there. As Alinsky says: make them play by their own rules.

Today I buy everything a retail post tax. So my $1 earned becomes about 85 cents after SS and About 65 cents after taxes.
So when I buy a $5 beer I buy it with approximately $7.70 worth of my labor (5/.65).
With Fair Tax the beer is priced at $7.50 or so and that is what I pay.
Small business compliance is abut $400 B annually. I would assume Big Biz is about the same.
In 3 or 4 year efferences in the economy (if we just hold regulations the same) will reduce the price of that beer by 10 to 15%.

Reuben Hick, please understand that there would not be any taxation of income, only the consumption tax

there would be no "double-taxing" of things "purchased with taxed income" because income would no longer be taxed. At All

if you earn a hundred dollars, you take home a hundred dollars; the tax is levied on consumption

372 Am from United States. I was diagnosed with Herpes early this year in 2021 and the doctor told me herpes has no cure. I kept searching for any possible cure. While searching, I came across lots of reviews on facebook about how doctor DOUGRAY used herbal medicine to cure different people from Herpes and other diseases. I made an order for the herpes cure eraser and I received it 5 days later, I took the medicine for 9 days as instructed. While taking the medicine, I noticed some changes in my body. I used the medicine during the outbreak and the outbreak stopped completely. all the itching and pain was gone completely. When I was done taking the herbal medicine, I went for a test and I was confirmed Herpes negative "totally cured". Before I made an order for herbal medicine, I promised Dr DOUGRAY that if his product actually worked for me I was going to share the testimony through all social media so lots of people can be aware that Herpes is curable. you can contact dr dougray via Email: drdougray@gmail.com
