Agreed. They have to hope that Michigan wins to make their job easy. If Michigan loses, they then have to figure out who provides the best matchup for Alabama in semi-final.

Iowa is ridiculously overrated, so I don't expect Michigan to have any trouble with them. They have zero offense and rely on defense and special teams to play perfect to win. They were exposed by an average Purdue team. Then further exposed by good Wisconsin team the following week. Then played cupcakes the rest of the season and had things fall their way with Minnesota upsetting Wisconsin.

You know our receiving corps is down this year with slow whiteboy Bolden playing almost every snap. He didn't get any respect from the Georgia secondary and that let him made some key receptions tonight but man, is that guy slow. Decent top end but no acceleration at all. What he's got when he gets the ball is pretty much what you are going to get on the play.

I old enough to remember when we had arguably the four best receivers in college football on the team at the same time, if not on the field at the same time.

All of three years ago.

Because CNN is so divorced from both journalistic and business imperatives and is essentially a drug lounge (but for influence instead of cocaine), I always assumed primo ratings slots were handed out by favor and connections rather than ratings potential or journalistic concerns.

So CNN would not be worried about losing their number 1 guy. It would purely be a social/power move. I expect the new person to do better in the slot. Think of how sanguine Fox was about ditching names like O'Reilly and Kelly. And Fox actually cares about ratings.

141 I expected them to purge Fredo once his brother was out of office. I am only surprised it took this long.

What I find amusing is that the announcement is pretty much Soviet-style "sentence first, trial later". They fired him before the investigation was over. How appropriate.

I also note how they hired a special lawyer so they could send Fredo out on the lake instead of the traditional corporate golden parachute, and apparently without worrying about him naming names while testifying for the committee. It is less that they found enough to fire him and more they found enough to shut him up about it.
