88 I bookmark design sights that feature major fails in construction or interior design, it's truly frightening some of the things people do - they're not just in other countries. Like a guy that got locked in his shower, because the cat opened a drawer that kept the shower door from being opened. Sadly, I see a lot of this shit when I'm shooting listings.

Regarding Ace's post: Strangely, staircases and bathrooms tend to collide far more than you'd expect. I'm not quite sure why, it's just one of those cosmic mysteries.

One of my favorite sites:

As a guinea who grew up in a heavily-Italian 'hood, I can certainly attest. We all wore 'em. All the better to show off the ubiquitous St. Christopher Medal, the Horn to ward off the mal'occh' and the gold cross on a gold chain.

In the particular street style of my era, unless it was real hot out, we usually wore a dress shirt over top, untucked, unbuttoned or just the bottom few buttons buttoned, sleeves rolled up. I don't know. A street version of "adult" wear, I guess.

Not surprisingly, I've seen some stuff that's almost identical. The worst of the worst has been in Santa Cruz and Felton CA. Typically, it's because hippies buy a house that's insanely small, and have to improvise adding plumbing fixtures - which is near impossible to do with a permit due to the insane regulations in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. For instance, you cannot add a sink in your bathroom. So, they get super creative, either post build or to hide something from building inspectors. I've seen toilets in kitchens, and bathtubs in bathrooms. One toilet was inside of the kitchen cabinets, and you opened the cabinet doors and flipped up the counter top to use it. Showers outside? You bet. Install a french drain, put up a bar for the drapes, and run the hot water through exterior wall and voila! Only $1.2M for this gem in the Redwoods.

Spendy, luxury boats that can cross the North Sea at full-gale. And, yes, the interior companionways are most ladder-like, just as in the first picture. Not saying it's a Krogen, likely not, 'cause the fit and finish of the Krogens are Rolls Royce in their quality. 200 The memo claims that Biden told Meir that the territories Israel had captured during the Six-Day War, which included West Bank and the Gaza Strip, amounted to creeping annexation.
Notes taken by an unnamed Israeli official in the meeting say that Biden told Meir that during talks in Cairo before he arrived in Israel, Egyptian officials had assured him that they accepted Israels military superiority, according to a Times of Israel report last year.

Biden used this contention to suggest that Israel was in a position to offer the Arabs unilateral concessions to promote peace. He tried to convince the prime minister to withdraw from areas of lesser strategic importance, a suggestion Meir rejected before lecturing the young senator about the problems Israel was facing in the region.

Less than six weeks later, Meirs fears were confirmed when Egypt and Syria attacked Israel.

The memo also claims that Biden was highly critical of the Nixon administration during the meeting, accusing it of being dragged by Israel while debate about the Middle East was bogged down in the Senate because lawmakers were fearful of offending Jewish voters.

228 My parents old farm was originally built in the 1700s. It didn't originally have the fancy shamsy things like bathrooms, or toilets, or indoor plumbing for that matter. Or wiring. Hell, didn't even have a real kitchen or closets. It was just a box with some walls in it. Everything was an after market add on and creativity was key.

It did have an outhouse with two seats. Figure that one out.

I have no doubt that some of the truly old homes back east have a lot of this going on. After all, short of removing walls and floors, you've got to make do with where you can easily insert your plumbing or electricity. That's where a bathtub or a sink in a place you wouldn't expect to see it makes sense. I get a lot less forgiving when the home is in CA and goes for 6 figures. I shot one several months ago on Paradise Point in Santa Cruz, literally right over the water - some of the most prime real estate in all of CA. An illegally installed toilet had the most amazing view of the ocean and coastline - and the surfers not 50 yards away had the most amazing view of the toilet. $7M.

One of the most tactically sound moves I've yet to see recorded, that. The first shooter is "gun up" and has already shot at least one person, gang-murderer style. First shooter's disdain for the customer put the customer out of view of the First Shooter, allowing Customer to draw and fire. Into the First Shooter's back, is meaningless, as there is no "FAIR" in a gunfight.

Tactically SOUND, it ensured Customer wasn't facing an alert, armed and known homicidal opponent. Neutralized the HELL out of the First Shooter. Nice move also to drag the now inert First Shooter clear, so as to be able to kick the First Shooter's gun away from the (corpse?)

The only FAIR gunfight is the one which YOU survive, and win.

In my area of Houston, the grocery store shelves look as Lying Joe says they are nationwide: 95 or more percent full. It is an illusion. Available brands and flavors of many items are much fewer than a year ago, and there are lower quantities than usual of items that are on the shelves. The trick is that managers tell the stockers to put in-stock items in the slots of out-of-stock items. Then they put items only two or three deep on the shelves, letting them spread stuff out horizontally and vertically.

Posted by: Warai-otoko at December 02, 2021 09:09 PM (6FeV1)

351 From a National Guard history site:

"During World War II, National Guard units participated in 34 separate campaigns and numerous assault landings in the European and Pacific Theaters of Operation. Of the first five U.S. Army divisions to enter offensive combat, four of them, the 32nd, 34th, 37th and Americal Divisions, were Guard divisions".

Since its formation, the NG has been used to jump start the formation of large formations since they already are trained and familiar with each other. The Union did similarly with regular army units in the Civil War, though the expansion they already did made their elite status more marginal and they soon were attritted to nubs.

Doing such absolutely requires the trigger to be pulled, in order to "let the hammer down", no matter how gently one does so. Which puts lie to Baldwin's claim that he never pulled the trigger.

If he tried to "let the hammer down", then he had to pull the trigger. Which is probably when the hammer slipped out from under his thumb, and sadly, a loud noise ensued. This is Courtroom Quality Evidence, to bastardize a phrase from a certain Slapweasel.

390 Bourbon Chicken,

Nah, hammer had to have been fully cocked to full-lock to the rear, in order for the cylinder to properly index the chamber under the hammer. Partial (half-cock) notch on the hammer, results in the cylinder turning only 1/2 way to the next chamber. On vintage Remington revolvers, there was a neat lil' notch milled into the rear of the cylinder between chambers. it'd snugly hold the lowered hammer between chambers, so that "loading six" (and carrying the gun loaded with such), as a far safer proposition than doing so with a Colt lockwork revolver. Colt, you loaded five, and carried with the hammer down on an empty chamber.

Bad things were likely to happen if you loaded with, and "carried six".

I have talked to the kid and we are on the same page so I replied to her that she was barking up the wrong tree, that I had done extensive research on the side effects of that shit and have come to the conclusion that it is poison. I told her that not only was I not taking The Jab under any circumstances but that I would strongly advise anyone else not too.

It's true, Old Faithful and friends make sure the pressures are kept at a low level. Now, if one wants a SMOD of Biblical degree to smite the sinners, think about Mount Rainier roaring to life and sending a pyroclastic cloud down its snowy peak, down the steep slopes, and into all the suburbs and country homes on its way to Seattle, Tacoma, and anyplace else that the channeled muck and mirk hits for sixty miles around.
