CNN: We've (Wink, Wink) Decided to "Suspend Chris Cuomo Indefinitely"

This statement issued by CNN -- and typed up by in-house flacks Tater and Oliver Darcy -- sounds like a lot of bark, but I doubt it will have much bite.

I've screencapped it to deny CNN any traffic.

Screenshot (857).png

Donald Trump is gloating, but... I think this is premature.

This is a smokescreen, this is all fake.

donaldtrumponfredo.jfif

Remember, Chris Cuomo lied about having been under "super-strict" lockdown under covid -- he used those exact words.

But we know he got into a fight with a bicyclist who caught him out-of-doors at a different property while he was infected, and talked about this fight on a radio show -- and then staged a fake "re-emergence" from his basement.

This was all a lie. Everyone knew it was a lie.

CNN ran it anyway, for ratings.

CNN is in the business of lies.

Why does anyone think that CNN is going to deviate from its business model and fire Fredo for doing what CNN does on the daily?

Yeah--its a problem, in that I'm sure the founders never imagined that the press would protect themselves from liability, and then consolidate under a handful of people, and then try to install fascism. Seriously.

The same way the founders never imagined that the state legislatures would pass laws that facilitated voter fraud on a massive scale.

Their "International Social Justice Commission" put out a fifty-page guide to having discussions about racism, which is basically a Christian-flavored version of the CRT playbook, including references to DeAngelo and Kendi.

It blamed every example of inequality in our society (including disparate COVID outcomes) on "discrimination".

It asked white people to "repent" for their own racism or -- failing that -- for the church's historical racism.

They've now hidden the guide, and put out an apology for having been misunderstood.

A few of the old powerhouse colleges in many leagues have had trouble adjusting to the fact that athletes can go anywhere and want to play rather than sit on the bench. USC and UCLA have both been out of it for nearly 20 years, Michigan has had a hard road for about a decade until this year - unless they choke in the Big 10 champ game.

I don't know that this hire will change that reality for USC, who have been outdone by Oregon and Utah the PAC 12 itself. But College football seems determined to eat itself alive in public rather than build a stable system.

186 all charities and corporations will continue to go woke until they sued the fuck into oblivion. It would also help if they could start hiring Americans again, but part of Build Back Better is the idea that no american must sully himself for doing labor or coding like a poor.

What's funny is the wokeness is not driven by any boycotts or anything, they don't give AF about boycotts. Yolo, there's only 6 corporations left, what are you going to do? Eat a different brand of soybean oil, sawdust, and HFCS?

"sorta retracted" in the "sorry you were offended" kind of way. Their response made it worse.

Here would have been the better response from their "general": "Give me a few days to look into this and I will get back to you." Then, three days later: "I had no idea we were embracing CRT. The people who introduced it have been sacked. The people who didn't report this to me have been sacked. I am going to strip CRT out root and branch and kill it with fire. CRT is a marxist theory entirely incompatible with Christianity."

Instead I have to find a new charity. I think this absolves me of my promise to my grandfather to donate to the Salvation Army. Sorry, grandpa.

Oh, sure I have forgiven them. Also, I'm not giving them another red cent. And I don't ever drop money in their pot. No for the past 25 years I have donated directly from my paycheck. Every place I work at now has this charity org run by people that "want to ensure every baby is a healthy baby" in the same way that PP ensures that "every baby is a loved baby", ie. by killing them. So I zero that out and have been giving money every week to SA instead. For a quarter of a century. It's a % and goes up when my pay goes up. It's well over a thousand a year. But no mo.

Not that the left intentionally infiltrates these organizations but that their innate boldness allows them to takeover after enough time.

-------

Not intentional at first. Some just get promoted to authority, whether by dint of their own non-political merits, or family/political connections that benefit the enterprise.

But their loyalty to ideology is paramount. They very intentionally abuse their power to promote their own ideological fellow travelers without regard to individual merit, or the enterprise's benefit.

Once they get control of the upper ranks, this begins rapidly radiating down and out through the organization. Total institutional capture is achieved. Then you find yourself in a real weird place, where your charity is suddenly hurling racial denunciations at donors on the street.

The NCAA is preparing to let the Big Football Schools set the rules for the Big Football Schools. The Big Schools could decide to increase scholarships to grab some talent that is now going to minor Div I schools. The Big Schools could also let players transfer from a minor Div1 or Div2 school to a Big School after one or two years, without losing a year of eligibility. Here's part of their initial statement. Maybe you have a newer one

"The Salvation Army occasionally publishes internal study guides on various complex topics to help foster positive conversations and grace-filled reflection among Salvationists. By openly discussing these issues, we always hope to encourage the development of a more thoughtful organization that is better positioned to support those in need. But no one is being told how to think. Period"

So:
1. "We're smarter than you! We can handle complex topics"
2. Let a thousand flowers bloom. The idea that an employee being fed the CRT BS could say anything other than "Awesome, hit me again" is not credible.

Unlike you, I am pissed off. They still have a slight change to pull out of their dive, but I don't see them trying.

A lot of that is already happening, but it works both ways. A guy can transfer out of a big school for a place where he can actually play. The NFL scouts more than just the major schools. Some teams have continued to dominate, but a good fraction of the old dominant schools have fallen back - USC, UCLA, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas, even ND to some extent. The consolidation might not work out as well as they think if fans don't get excited for a championship team with three or four losses.

332 The funny thing is the Salvation Army became my agnostic grandfather's default charity because they didn't charge WW II servicemen for coffee or donuts, unlike the Red Cross. So I've been helping to carry a 75+ year old grudge that started 25 years before I was born. So for telling me to "sincerely apologize" for being White, I will carry my own grudge. They still have a chance, if they fire everyone involved and loudly declare that CRT, etc, is incompatible with Christianity, but I don't see them doing it.

333 Is ironic the right term that Chick Fil A stopped giving to the SA when they bent the knee to the Left?

334 1. Forgiveness has to do with the past. Forgiveness is not holding something someone has done against you. It is letting it go. It only takes one to offer forgiveness.

2. Reconciliation has to do with the present. It occurs when the other person apologizes and accepts forgiveness. It takes two to reconcile.

3. Trust has to do with the future. It deals with both what you will risk happening again and what you will open yourself up to. A person must show through his actions that he is trustworthy before you trust him again.

Yep - Father Kennedy, my childhood Priest was of the same mind: "Always forgive. Never, ever, forget."

338 Sad thing is SA has been one of the true charities, in terms of overhead costs/not being a self-licking ice cream cone of self-promotion and $$$$. Years ago I was involved in giving them millions of your dollars for int'l work - I would kid them about their budget (always a small fraction of even the best "mainline" int'l NGOs).
Posted by: rhomboid at November 30, 2021 08:06 PM (OTzUX)

That's how I was - but all things change. When the cancer began I don't know. I could understand the whole homo thing, because I know some here in CA that loath SA because Christian and have refused to give to them. SA wasn't there to judge, only help. Well, apparently they've moved into judging now, which means the whole Christian thing went out the window. I get to judge, and God gets to beat me up when the time comes. I'm a lousy sinner. But, I'm not taking money to help people. That's why I give it to my church, because they'll give that 20 year old bum a sandwich when I'd tell him to get a fucking job. I don't want to give money to support some woke middle management jerks 6 figure salary that couldn't make the cut at Apple's diversity department.

342 > SA recognized the error of their way and withdrew the nonsense. I think we should forgive them.

No, they did not "withdraw their nonsense." Their full statement is here: https://bit.ly/3IcleoS

Relevant portion, The Salvation Army occasionally publishes internal study guides on various complex topics to help foster positive conversations and grace-filled reflection among Salvationists. By openly discussing these issues, we always hope to encourage the development of a more thoughtful organization that is better positioned to support those in need. But no one is being told how to think. Period.

In this case, the guide "Let's Talk About Racism," was issued as a voluntary resource, but it has since become a focus of controversy. We have done our best to provide accurate information, but unfortunately, some have chosen to ignore those efforts. At the same time, International Headquarters realized that certain aspects of the guide may need to be clarified.

They didn't realize the error of their ways. They're claiming the backlash was based on a misinterpretation of their racist tract. They think they just need to restate their racist sentiments.

The leadership of the SA would have to fire themselves first. I'm not interested in clarifications. They've shown their true colors, and forgiveness only comes once they've paid real consequences for what they've done. As it is, I don't think for a second that they understand they're in the wrong.

My Dad hated the Red Cross, as did most WWII vets as I recall. I guess they learned their lesson in one regard, the "Doughnut Dollys" didn't charge us for doughnuts when the one time they stopped by. To be fair were a long way from civilization.

That's all it would take. But apparently they've grown too big. Like a government bureaucracy. Their only goal is to live and grow. Their original mission statement lost in the haze. And like a good lefty, they need to preach it, and convert us all. Same idea, wrong ideology. Helping nobody but making themselves feel a lot better.

You did good by your Grandfather, and he'd be on board with telling them to take a hike. It's not your Grandfather's Salvation Army any longer.

350 I'm seeing a lot of comments here that say the same thing about the Red Cross vs. Salvation Army during WWII. My dad hated the Red Cross because they'd charge for coffee, donuts, etc., while the SA did not. Interesting that there's so many with the same story.
