"Zinaida" would be a good name for a female Siberian cat. Unfortunately it would get shortened to "Zinnie," which is not as exotic.

The subject isn't important to me but her technique is excellent. She coordinates the flow of the skin tones into the gown fabric tones and captures the look of the lace in a way to flatter the model. The choice of a soft background, the dark hair and point of color of the pendant while the pearls reflect the gown hues shows the softness of the young woman. Very effective.
I'm sure the artist uses a soft focus approach but it is subtle and effective. It's a nice portrait and I'm sure it pleased the patron. Posted by: JTB at December 02, 2021 09:50 AM (7EjX1) 90

Christina does really nice shiny clothing textures. She's got that nailed. Many of her figures, and I only see female figures, have very similar features. But I see that a lot in paintings of royal people, they all want to look a certain way so you have a template and tweak it. Also, if you look really close to the skin details the women almost look like pure ivory, it's very striking and beautiful.

We had our older kid in the Bloomington (IN) public elementary school for about a month and a half this year, before going back to homeschooling. And he says:
(a) Every classroom had a stolen land poster that says, "You are on _______ land", with a blank for the teacher to fill in. (b) But only one teacher had bothered to fill it in. Anyway, this brilliant idea made me think that they should do the same thing with "You are on _____ burial grounds" acknowledgements. Might help with the Juju.
