Allyn Walker, who teaches sociology and criminal justice at Old Dominion University, made the controversial comment while discussing "minor-attracted persons" and pedophiles during a Nov. 8 interview with the Prostasia Foundation, a San Francisco-based child protection organization.

The Protasia Foundation how features as its "communications director" the leftwing NBC "Cultural Critic" Noah Berlatsky. He is one of the nastiest, most partisan and clickbaitiest hate-porn writers in the world, so of course NBC had to give him a prominent position writing for their "Big Think" vertical.

Far-left Twitter warrior Noah Berlatsky has gained ample notoriety online for such trenchant observations as, "Why Ant-Man should be black," a piece that Vice, to its embarrassment, published. That forced clickbait--in other words, Berlatsky's usual fare--in which the writer posits that the "hero's central power [is] whiteness," earned the author plenty of well-deserved derision, but the latest controversy he's embroiled in goes well beyond the merely embarrassing. In fact, it has the makings of a cancellation, as it has to do with his perceived defense of pedophiles.
Berlatsky's the communications director for an organization known as the Prostasia Foundation, which states its mission is to "prevent child sexual abuse before it happens, rather than merely tracking down and punishing those who have already offended." That sounds reasonable, so why are so many convinced that Prostasia's a pro-pedophile group disguised as a children's rights organization?
Let's start with the fact that the organization doesn't use the word "pedophile," preferring instead to use "minor attracted person" --MAP--a more neutral designation that has enraged many, and appears to have little to do with protecting children.

Prostasia has drawn criticism for promoting MAP Support Club, which it calls "a safe, chat-based peer-support network for minor attracted people age 13 and older." Prostasia thinks it's a good idea to support a place where the youngest of teenagers can socialize with fully-grown adults who are attracted to them, but I'm not convinced. MAP Support Club bills itself as a "support chat for minor attracted people who are fundamentally against child sexual abuse," but pedophiles' eyes must light up when they hear of a place where they can chat with 13-year-olds, and then perhaps find a way to take the chat private after spending sufficient time grooming them. Prostasia must've known that endorsing this meeting spot was going to provoke outrage, yet it did so anyway, in the name of "stopping child abuse."

By the way, although he's written a lot for NBC.com, it's strangely difficult to find his articles now. As if NBC has done some kind of clean-up operation with the assistance of their Social Media Monopolist cartel-partners at Google.

That's awful I'm sorry. My scouting in the 70s-80s was great for me. I didn't have a father, poor kid never went anywhere, and then I had this great group run by hardnosed former marines and our troop went everywhere and made us act like men. It was my first break from being taken care of by sisters and my mom. One of the best things that ever happened to me.

I hate what it became. When it was good it was one of the best things in a boy's life. No one gives a shit about boys now.

It doesn't go awful until they build a powerful bureaucracy after having overcome the aristocracy and clergy. A mediocre king doesn't really matter a whole lot, kings, being selected by birth, aren't on average meddlesome bureaucratic types. But when they centralize too much power in themselves (absolutism) and establish bureaucracies to carry out their will, the bureaucracies go off the rails in a few generations. Thus you have the phenomena of a strong king who centralizes power and makes a bunch of major reforms, then several generations later a "weak" king dominated by the bureaucracy who endlessly piss people off and consume the realm's resources.

(Osha rules aren't handled in District court, they jump right into circuit courts of appeal.)

So the 6th circuit would have to countermand a standing order that is well-written and well thought out.

I suspect that was the Fifth Circuit's strategy to issue the opinion Friday night. The lottery had not happened yet, so they could not have known whether the MLP would move it or not, but just in case they got it out there. Now, the Sixth Circuit is very conservative and likely would have issued a similar opinion on its own, but the lottery could have sent it to a less conservative circuit.
