GOVERNMENT ARRESTS IGOR DANSCHENKO, "PRIMARY SUB-SOURCE" FOR CHRISTOPHER STEELE'S FAKE "DOSSIER"

Authorities Arrest Analyst Who Contributed to Steele Dossier Igor Danchenko, a Russia analyst who worked with Christopher Steele, the author of a dossier of rumors and unproven assertions about Donald J. Trump, was taken into custody as part of the Durham investigation.

Nov. 4, 2021, 9:43 a.m. ET WASHINGTON -- Federal authorities on Thursday arrested an analyst who in 2016 gathered leads about possible links between Donald J. Trump and Russia for what turned out to be Democratic-funded opposition research, according to people familiar with the matter. The arrest of the analyst, Igor Danchenko, is part of the special counsel inquiry led by John H. Durham, who was appointed by the Trump administration to scrutinize the Russia investigation for any wrongdoing, the people said. Mr. Danchenko, was the primary researcher of the so-called Steele dossier, a compendium of rumors and unproven assertions suggesting that Mr. Trump and his 2016 campaign were compromised by and conspiring with Russian intelligence officials in Moscow's covert operation to help him defeat Hillary Clinton. The people familiar with the matter spoke on condition of anonymity because the indictment of Mr. Danchenko had yet to be unsealed. A spokesman for Mr. Durham did not respond to a request for comment. ... The inspector general report also said that a decade earlier, when Mr. Danchenko worked for the Brookings Institution, a prominent Washington think-tank, he had been the subject of a counterintelligence investigation into whether he was a Russian agent.
In an interview with The New York Times in 2020, Mr. Danchenko defended the integrity of his work, saying he had been tasked to gather "raw intelligence" and was simply passing it on to Mr. Steele. Mr. Danchenko -- who made his name as a Russia analyst by exposing indications that the dissertation of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia contained plagiarized material -- also denied being a Russian agent.
"I've never been a Russian agent," Mr. Danchenko said. "It is ridiculous to suggest that. This, I think, it's slander."
Maybe this line explains the arrest. We saw a prior indictment of Hillary Clinton lawyer Michael Sussman for lying about who his client was when he passed false information to the FBI. And Danschenko similarly claimed he had no idea who he was working for, but was merely a "nonpartisan researcher:"
Mr. Danchenko said he did not know who Mr. Steele's client was at the time and considered himself a nonpartisan analyst and researcher.But I don't know. Update: Techno_Fog thinks the charges might be about Danschenko's denials about being in contact with Russian intelligence agents. Specifically those in the SVR (successor organization to the KGB, I think taking over the KGB's foreign operations), GRU (Russian Army Intelligence), or FSB (also a successor organization to the KGB, I think mainly taking over the KGB's domestic security/repression function). So... interesting, maybe.
I gotta ask: Is Steele next? And what about -- Hillary? Are the walls closing in? Are we reaching the end of the line? Maybe AllahPundit will have solid speculations in his write-up of this. Just kidding, of course. This is a prime John Sexton material. And we don't want AllahPundit writing it up. He'd smear it with his greasy Bulwark/Salon spin and suggest that this is all Trump's fault, somehow, or that Durham is corrupt.

The FBI and the intelligence organizations chose not to do that. They played vicarious trust and information laundering games. The sources are lying gangsters, but so is the government and that is the bigger problem. Sure, maybe this Danschenko character is as bad as people paying attention thought he was. It also doesn't matter. His guilt is transactional. The guilt of his government handlers is systemic.
Will Durham string someone up? Maybe. Will it be this guy? Maybe. Will he or anyone else in government solve the actual system problems of capture and corruption, especially in LE and intelligence? Not a chance in hell. No one important goes down.

To be honest, this stuff is too complicated to make any political difference anywhere, especially if the courts allow the defendants to walk with nothing. The narrative will be too easy to cast as, "They may have been too motivated by patriotism, but what they did wasn't that bad otherwise they would have gotten heavier sentences."
The people won't care about the intricacies of what actually happened. They've been bored of the details for years now, ignoring it all the time, and no politician will successfully pick it up as a crusade to any political benefit. So, unless there's real jail time for people that normies can actually recognize, it's inside baseball that will affect pretty much nothing.

They can and they will. Not entirely, of course, but in the majority. Most people won't ever find out about it. No major press coverage and general suppression. Those who are - like people here - will find out, but they also already know what's going on and who the main actors are. People in general are already beginning to forget this whole affair. This information being out there absent massive firings and prosecutions and reorganizations (or better yet outright closures) of agencies will be somewhat vindicating for people like me who have followed this thing in horror and contempt, but won't make a dime's worth of difference in general.

Mutation and leakiness aren't drivers of one another. And the first polio vaccine - Salk's - *was* leaky. It was a serious problem that had to be solved. The second one (I forget his name) was not leaky but had the nasty (although rare) side effect of sometimes giving you polio. They solved that problem in the first generation by combining them. The Salk vaccine, which was leaky, came first. It protected you from the second vaccine, which was sterilizing.

My take is that Durham is taking out these 'loose ends' minor players outside the government. They are simply disposable patsies just like terror groups use suicide bombers. No one cares about their welfare. But the important thing is that the DOJ and Feebs (as well as Dept of State) as institutions appear to be above board and sacrosanct as being fooled.
Even back to the era of kings, it was considered important that the king could be seen to do no wrong and any evil, malicious, or even failed policies would be blamed on underlings. And even American colonists bit on that one, it took about six to seven years before Americans realized that the ministers of the King were simply doing the King's bidding and those policies affecting the colonists had King George III's approval and backing.

They gave up on Chelsea decades ago. They made sure Chelsea was set up for life with whatever career she wanted, plus a wealthy husband, but it was obvious that she didn't have any political instincts. I believe Huma was supposed to be Chelsea's replacement as the Clinton heir. Hence her marriage to Weiner: he'd rise through the ranks of Congress, while she followed Hillary into the executive branch and got cushy foreign policy gigs. They'd become the new DC power couple.

When I was cleaning out her paperwork last year after she died I found a letter she wrote in which she said her skinnier leg made her self-conscious to the point that she became a perfectionist, so much so that she always worried so much about being a perfect Mom that she really didn't get to just enjoy being a Mom. Injunction by the end of the week. SCOTUS hears arguments (after appeals in the 6th, of course) by early next year with the mandate never being enforced.
Mandate goes down in super narrow ruling that doesn't affect administrative law anywhere except for this one ruling by OSHA.

I wish you luck. People who got vaxx'd bought the product already. If they got a booster they doubled down. Marketers know that there is a thing that tends to keep people supporting a product they've already bought, especially an expensive one, because admitting they made a bad decision causes cognitive dissonance. So it tends to make people defend their purchasing decision even in the face of disappointing performance. Its an ego thing. A lot of people truly believe they did the right thing, even though some of them are now on their third shot in less than a year. At the end of the day, we have zero safety data for long term side effects. We have data in teenage boys that shows cardio circulatory issues for sure. It is easiest to see it in teenagers because they should not have background disease at that age and so it stands out like a sore thumb in the data. The reality is, it is probably doing it to everyone.

These rules will be economically disastrous, but not exactly because of unemployment. Unemployment won't help, but it isn't going to be all that big. A couple of percent, maybe as high as five, but I doubt more than that. At least as many people will forge their papers.
But the real problem will be productivity. Why work hard and go the extra mile for people who hate you and enthusiastically lobbied for tyranny that they then enforced? This is going to kill productivity, and few of them will be clever enough to understand why productivity shows a declining trend by autumn of next year.

I actually had Covid early this year which caused me to have blood pressure spikes to stroke level that I had never had before. Come to find out from discussing that situation with medical personnel those blood pressure spikes are a common side effect of Covid.
Thus, I suspect the causal link is clotting plus exertion, plus aggravated heart muscle, from either Covid or the shot, and that can bring down even well conditioned athletes.

That's what I'm concerned about. Grandson plays club soccer, golf and baseball. His dad was also very athletic state champion BMX racer, soccer player and golf also played baseball and basketball.
Heart issues and stroke run in the family. I can't get the vaxx because of stroke issues. So I'm concerned for them. I was shocked when son said he was getting vaxxed even though he'd already had COVID with no issues whatever.

It will, and likely will in the same manner that the "government contractor" version that is being rolled out now will. It's a mess and it's likely illegal, but it is structured in such a way as to remove all accountability. They way they are doing this is by deferring to other agency to define terms. The contractor version dictates that all employees must be "fully vaccinated." The definition of "fully vaccinated" is not discussed, because that is handled by the CDC. As of now, it is "two weeks after the full initial two-shot course." When the CDC changes "fully vaccinated" to included additional courses, that will cascade down and hit the contractors. You're not "fully vaccinated" without the booster, and you'll be fired if you oppose.

It the kid does get vaxxed, you might want to investigate consequences of taking daily low dose baby aspirin as heart patients take it. It tends to reduce damage from blood clotting but as usual can result in side effects such as delayed clotting response.
The odds are extremely unlikely that a young people in good physical shape has anything to fear from Covid. The vaxx however, has been suspended in a number of countries for the young.

True. But the real problem with that suit was not the naming of Russians as defendants, it's that they were in Russia and couldn't be served with the suit as required by law. And, had they been served, they never could have been compelled to come to the US for the trial.
Steele is absolutely subject to US law but whether he could be personally served and then compelled to appear at trial are problems.

That is currently under investigation but it is unclear whether or not the vaxx taken subsequently 'destroys' natural immunity.
In reality, both Covid and vaxx antibodies decline over time, apparently though Covid itself creates more lasting immunity probably by reprogramming the permanent immune system involving other immune cells to recognize it as a threat. Apparently the vaxx does not seem to do that at least in some people.

It's a deep state publication. These assholes specialize in long and pointless. Lots of it is definitions and quoting studies (like a lit review) to try to justify the "grave danger" but then they say, "yeah man, not enough evidence on natural immunity though."
I immediately started searching for telework in the doc, and it appears (p63) that full time remote workers are exempt (by OSHA, the employers of course are another story). Part-time remote still have to get tested within 7 days of going into the office on any day they do go in the office. So if you only go to the office on Wednesdays, you still have to get tested every week (p349, 380-81).
On page 229, they basically admit it's only going to apply to at most 27M of 80M covered employees. 52M are already vaxxed, 800K are expected to get medexempt, 7M+ religious. And of those 27M, many probably work remote or outdoors and are exempt.
Praying this gets struck down root and branch.

I did two-mile walks locally (away from people) just to prove to myself I could, and it was gone in five days.
two moderna shots: each felt worse than covid the day after the shot, could barely get out of bed to pee, but in each case it was gone in a day.
don't plan on a booster or on proving anything to anyone.

In reality, both Covid and vaxx antibodies decline over time, apparently though Covid itself creates more lasting immunity probably by reprogramming the permanent immune system involving other immune cells to recognize it as a threat. Well, in the military context it's because most small arms fire in an engagement (historically about 70-80%) isn't actually aimed directly at an enemy soldier. It's suppressing fire to pin the enemy down so that you can call in the real killers: high explosives. That's why I often piss people off by arguing that 5.56 is the superior military cartridge to 7.62. It allows for a lot more suppressing fire per pound of ammo carried by the infantryman.
As to cops, as Carl Hiaasen noted in one of his novels most cops couldn't hit the broad side of the SS Norway at 10 paces with a bazooka. Hiaasen is a commie loon, but his early novels were hilarious.
