The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“I’m relieved that I will finally get my hard-earned savings back after a year of suffering. But what happened to me was wrong. The officers and prosecutors treated me like a criminal when all I was trying to do was improve my business and my life." Kermit Warren, a New Orleans grandfather and head deacon of his Lower Ninth Ward church

Quote II

‘It’s not fair when, for example, one country send lots and lots of delegates, and then another country is very under-represented.

‘That already creates an imbalance, and climate justice is at the very heart of this crisis.Greta Thunberg

Quote III

“Donald Trump is traveling to the World Series just so he can be filmed doing the tomahawk chop.”

“But if you state the obvious: that this all carries the stench of a white supremacist photo op, you’re being divisive,” Dave Zirin, sports editor for The Nation

Talk about living rent free in someone's head. What sad and pathetic lives.

Quote IV
"I've had cancer. I'm triple vaxxed. If it gets me, fair play to it because it will put up a fight against me but I'm not staying in my house again."The Atlantic staff writer Caitlin Flanagan

Quote V

‘He needs space for me to take care of him and his mental health. It’s an awful thing that happened. Alec feels awful.’ Hilaria Baldwin

Austin, Texas is in the news tonight. Will Austin voters decide to fund additional police officers in a city that needs policing.

In August, the council, feeling pressure from an increase in violent crime and a state law penalizing cities that defund their police, reversed course when it came to the cuts and approved a substantial increase in law enforcement funding.

“But activists at Save Austin Now think it’s too little, too late. They successfully worked to put a referendum, Proposition A, on the ballot, with a special election set for Tuesday,” the Fox report said.

By the time the resident was shooting at them, I think it's a little late for the mental health professional to show up.

What started as Austin city workers attempting to trim a Texas man's unkempt lawn resulted in the homeowner shooting at landscapers, a house fire, and a standoff with police that ended with a deadly encounter.

The owner of the property was reportedly notified during the summer that "weeds were more than a foot tall," which violated the city code. The owner was allegedly ordered to mow the lawn by Aug. 19. Apparently, the homeowner never complied.

Around 9:16 a.m. on Wednesday, Austin Police offers attempted to serve a nuisance search warrant, but they were unable to locate the resident, according to Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon.

Moar Texas news..........I'm sure there are many Morons who are happy that the Texas MoMe was last weekend.

American Airlines cancels more than 1,600 weekend flights, citing weather and staffing

DALLAS — American Airlines has canceled more than 1,600 flights over the past three days, citing blustery conditions in Texas and a shortage of flight attendants.

The disruptions were similar in their initial cause and size to problems suffered in early October by Southwest Airlines, and they raised ominous questions about whether major airlines are prepared for the busy upcoming holiday travel period.

By early afternoon Sunday, American had canceled more than 800 flights — almost 30% of its schedule for the day — after scrapping nearly 900 flights on Friday and Saturday, according to tracking service FlightAware.

American’s troubles began late in the week, when high winds at times shut down flights and prevented the airline from using all runways at its busiest hub, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. That made it difficult for American to get crews in position for upcoming flights, and the cancellations and delays grew worse through Saturday and Sunday.

Staffing issues? American staff doesn't want to be vaccinated either?

Moar airline news. Southwest Airlines pilot has sense of humor. CNN anal-yst doesn't.

After a Southwest Airlines pilot reportedly ended an address to passengers with the words “Let’s go, Brandon” on Friday, a CNN analyst likened the man’s remark to the equivalence of something an ISIS terrorist might say.

Colleen Long of the Associated Press said that the incident took place Friday morning on a flight from Houston to Albuquerque. Video subsequently surfaced of an unidentified pilot uttering the anti-Biden phrase after welcoming the passengers to the flight. “Thanks for coming out and flying Southwest Airlines. Welcome aboard,” he said. “And remember,” he said softly, “Let’s go Brandon.”

No "Let's Go Brandon!" at the Jason Aldean concert in Florida.

Some of the thousands of fans who showed up to see country music superstar Jason Aldean in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday night burst out into “Fuck Joe Biden” chants, video posted to social media shows.

“Country Music Fans chant ‘FJB’ at a Jason Aldean Concert. #FJB #LetsGoBrandon,” one Twitter user said in a tweet, which shows video of the ruckus crowd singing the searing slogan. “You said it” the singer could be heard saying from the stage.

This certainly caught my eye. A 1999 Honda Civic the object of desire.

I found my stolen Honda Civic using a Bluetooth tracker. It’s the latest controversial weapon against theft.

The third time my 1999 Honda Civic was stolen, I had a plan. I’d taken the usual preventive measures like locking the doors, using a steering-wheel lock and parking on a well-lit street. But I also had something hidden deep in the car: a Tile tracker the size of a coin quietly transmitting its approximate location over Bluetooth.

Who knew chickens could fly? Our Genius Award Winner.

OCTOBER 29--A Pennsylvania woman is facing a criminal charge after allegedly striking another woman in the back of the head with a “cold chicken” at a Walmart Supercenter, according to police and court records.

Police say that Tahonee Fickes, 20, earlier this month “threw a cold chicken” at Kimberly Pittman, 52, while the women were inside a Walmart in Chambersburg, a central Pennsylvania borough about 15 miles from the Maryland state line.

The chicken “struck [Pittman] in the back of her head,” according to the Pennsylvania State Police. It is unclear what prompted the alleged poultry attack, or if Pittman was injured during the October 7 incident

Climate "justice"? So this isn't about saving the planet anymore? This is about "justice"?

Nice moving the goalposts. Because if this was still supposedly about "saving the planet", NO country would send any delegates anywhere and the entire thing would be held on conference call. But good to know that this is no longer about the planet is now about "justice".

The director of the UN World Food Programme says that if billionaires like Musk gave a fraction of their net worth to the cause of solving the hunger problem, it would be eliminated.

Musk says if you want $6 billion from him, show him in a transparent way how the problem gets solved, and he'll sell enough Tesla stock to do it. Let's see if they can show their work. Put up or shut up.

Posted by: MammaB at October 31, 2021 09:03 PM

I was thinking the same thing. I also think there is no need for a religious or medical exemption. Because the "vaccine" mandate makes absolutely no logical sense. The "vaccine" does not prevent either infection or spread. So there is absolutely no medical reason to get it. I should be able to present those facts to my employer and that should be enough to be exempt from the illegal mandate.

Really, if this is truly about public health, there should be no exemptions at all. But a lot of people have known for months now that the Plandemic protocols - lockdowns, "social-distancing", mask-wearing mandates, "vaccine" mandates - have never been about public health.

Alec Baldwin the actor, may have made some mistakes, but could also be tried for Involuntary Manslaughter.

But Alec Baldwin the producer, is responsible for everything that happens on the set. Every producer is, and they actually take out liability insurance against accidents, injuries, etc that take place on the set.
Alec Baldwin the producer excercised extreme negligence in the treatment of his union crew (who all walked off because of his actions) and then hiring inexperienced "walk-ons" to make the movie.

I think whatever happens to "Alec Baldwin" legally, his Hollywood and TV days are over. He is too radioactive to appear in anything.
And he inflicted this all on himself. It was his own lack of character and judgement that did this. His own pride, arrogance and hubris.

234 Hatcher was a great player. The 1986 Astros were a super fun team to support. They lost in the end but man that team was stacked.

I do remember a year or so later Hatcher had his corked bat explode in plain site. That was not the best look but I forgave him.

But here we are.

In that case the anti gun message should be: no more gun use in movies or tv shows, at all. Because let's face it, it isn't the NRA that glorifies gun violence, it's the entertainment industry that makes mountains of money glorifying gun violence.

258 In August, the council, feeling pressure from an increase in violent crime and a state law penalizing cities that defund their police, reversed course when it came to the cuts and approved a substantial increase in law enforcement funding.

This "defund the police" was always a scam. It is better understood as "reroute money from the police budget to a new group of worthless grifters".

The grifters now are a multi-million dollar permanent budget item, started by looting the police budget.

Now they want to "restore" the police department, but rather than clawing back the money diverted to the grifters, its yet more money, probably found via the confiscatory property tax.

The Left found inspiration in the Bible. They saw the Hebrew slaves wanting to go out in to the wilderness for a feast, so the Egyptians made the slaves work harder by not providing straw for the bricks, but by making them work harder by getting the straw themselves.

When they think that you might be able to survive and find rest, or somehow manage to find some area of life worth enjoying they go out of their way to make life more cruel and difficult.

They are just sadistic and evil. Raising taxes is mainly to inflict more pain.

304 As Delta finally breaks out into New Zealand (162 cases today, up from 57 two weeks ago and 20 a month ago), the left-wing government has made it quite clear that it intends to establish two classes of citizens: vaccinated and unvaccinated, who will be treated very differently.

In the words of the Prime Minister: "If you are still unvaccinated, not only will you be more at risk of catching Covid-19, but many of the freedoms others enjoy will be out of reach."

One slight problem: 80% of white New Zealanders have been vaccinated, but only 57% of Maori, and 73% of Pacific Islanders.

We'll see how much stomach the left-wing government has for turning New Zealand into a semi-apartheid state.

There will be no appeasing the mob.

A few years ago, a filmmaker appeared at a local college to give a talk. Ten years earlier, she had made a favorable documentary about transgenderism that was characterized as "pathbreaking", "stunning", and "brave" when it came out.

A mob shut her talk down - what was cutting-edge support of transgenderism ten years before was now completely unacceptable, because the Party Line on transgenderism had changed.

320 >>> 304 As Delta finally breaks out into New Zealand (162 cases today, up from 57 two weeks ago and 20 a month ago), the left-wing government has made it quite clear that it intends to establish two classes of citizens: vaccinated and unvaccinated, who will be treated very differently.

He invited us in to talk, and I told him I had just screened a short at Filmex of his "Talking Vietnam Pot-Luck Blues." He had no idea someone used his song in a film. Today, of course, the filmmakers would be sued out the wazoo. Tom said, "Man, I'd like to see that." And meant it.

Anyway, this idea: Get some 2 oz silver blanks (coins with no markings), after premium and shipping, maybe $65/ea. Get a metal stamp with the Ace o' Spades logo (~$50) and stamp the blanks. Maybe personalize the other side if you want to go crazy. Sell them to whoever wants them, for cost or for more ($75-100?) and give the rest to ace as a licensing fee.

And before anybody attributes nefarious motives to me: I did the think work, someone you trust can do the grunt work.

Yeah. I might order a few AOSHQ challenge coins for novelties or gifts, but I'm not going to use them for their bullion value. Say the brownshirts are coming to take you to the Happy Fun Camp with the tall brick chimneys. You go to the pawn shop to cash in your AOS challenge coins (because your bank accounts have been seized or frozen) so you can buy passage on a tramp freighter to Paraguay. Pawnbroker gives you cash, but calls gestapo after you leave, and says "Terminal Wharves, slip 23, 1600. Click"

525 i missed the AB discussion up thread, but was part of an interesting discussion at the local toy store last week: staff and former staff are all into cowboy action shooting, and have served on movie sets.

Pete, who said he's only been on 100 or so sets, stated there were strict protocols for firearms: mandatory safety briefings for all hands. use of dummy guns for "blocking out" scenes and rehearsals, NO live ammo allowed on set, ever. mandatory, multiple inspections of real weapons prior to filming, to include bore inspections, and the person to use the weapon was expected to point it in a safe direction and dry fire it to capacity (6 gun, pull the trigger at least 6 times, prior to "action)

near as we can tell, pretty much none of those protocols were followed, and, as producer, the ultimate responsibility for not doing so is on AB, as is pointing the gun at someone and pulling the trigger.

if he wants sympathy from me, he can look in the dictionary, between "shit" and "syphilis". he may not do time (i think he should) but i hope the mental anguish puts him in a personal prison inside his skull.

531 I don't know why they use weapons capable of firing a live round. I know if I were in that place I would have to check the weapon ten times and still not feel good about it.

i am not a Civil War reenactor. But I know they make them aim no were near the actual person. Even a blank can do damage at close range. They are so strict about these things, that they don't allow ram rods. the idea is some guy will stick a ram rod down his barrel and then shoot it at some one by accident.

You can even see in many movies, war movies that they are not really aiming at the other guy. Whenever they have a lot of reenactors, you will notice this.

I knew a few armorers back in the day. I saw a lot of the guns that were used on movie sets, and none of them were capable of firing live ammo. Well some might, but they would explode with a live round. They were permanently modded to fire blanks. One gun was a steyr AUG, and the flash suppressor was thread internally and fitted with a threaded plug drilled with the right size orifice to function with blanks. A live round would have blown the barrel up.

that is the thing with detail stripping. You never want to end up with extra parts. Some of us are too curious. I like to detail strip, it is a calming endeavor that I enjoy from time to time. Not that I do it regularly, but learning about a weapon in detail is interesting.

I have left a couple guns in a bag of parts a few times. I left two for at least a few months before I got around to caring how to put them back together. The other thing is get some real gunsmith tools, idiot marks are the worst thing ever. Making a $1000 gun into a $400 gun because you had the wrong tools and were bored is a bad way to go, I know because I have done that.

a lot to unpack. I know we don't like him and for good reason. He would never give us the benefit. I personally don't understand pointing it at these people, but at least check the weapon. I by nature would point it to the side, I simply would. I don't know what to think other than these people probably should not be using firearms as they are not serious.

558 Hi My Life, How have you been? How is your littlest angel? We went for an extended visit to our daughter's and got to see our precious grandbaby due to a power outage. He seemed mighty surprised to see us at his place instead of the other way around!

Somehow this shitheel is going to turn his poor gun-safety into a PSA, and become a hero for the cause.

In that case the anti gun message should be: no more gun use in movies or tv shows, at all. Because let's face it, it isn't the NRA that glorifies gun violence, it's the entertainment industry that makes mountains of money glorifying gun violence.

562 Hi Debby! OMGosh, my Littlest Angel is my light. She is such a happy baby.

All else is mostly the same-old. Too much to do, not enough time to get it done

565 Alec Baldwin is an absolute dooshnozzle. Alec Baldwin was not to blame if he was in fact told a prop was cold, and must be absolutely crushed by what has happened.

It is possible to believe both of those statements, and for both of those statements to be true.

It's a terrible thing all around.
