Marine Vet Single-Handedly Disarms a Gun-Wielding Soy Robber and Sends His Confederates Running In Abject Terror

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran in Arizona was caught on video single-handedly disarming a gun-wielding juvenile who was attempting to rob a gas station on Wednesday.

The armed suspect walks next to a lone store customer while pointing the weapon toward the cashier, according to the 8-second video clip. The customer acts immediately, lunging at the armed suspect.
The 8-second-long surveillance video shows the Marine Corps veteran grabbing the handgun and tackling the juvenile suspect, the sheriff's office said. The other two suspects fled the scene. (Yuma County Sheriff's Office )
Deputies said the customer, whom they identified as a Marine Corps veteran, successfully disarmed the suspect and detained him until law enforcement could arrive.
When responding deputies asked the customer how he was able to take control of the dangerous situation, he stated: "The Marine Corps taught me not to [mess] around."

To hell with them for trying to minimize this guy's guts and civic-mindedness by calling the full-grown man with the gun a mere "juvenile."

Yeah, and Michael Brown was a "teen" too. Oh, and when pictures of this hulking monster came out, they spun that as him being a "gentle giant."

But they are right about him acting "immediately."

How long is it before the former Marine sees the gun, until he acts to take it away from the soy thug? It's not even a half-second.

64 The guy did great, and I almost certainly couldn't have done better, but that was a low percentage move.

He's still pretty far from the guy when he reaches. When your arm is that far out, your leverage is poor. You can see when the gunman reacts, the Marine loses control of the gun. Of course the Marine follows up by driving into the kid and hitting him. That was excellent.

If the kid had two hands on the gun or was a bit bigger, this could have gone very badly for the Marine.

The perp was holding the gun off-line to him, so the most important step was already taken care of. With the fingers entangled in a handgun like they are, twisting violently gets very painful to the perp very fast. I've never emphasized maintaining a hold on your bag of groceries though. This. I also had a defensive driving class in high school. Which is why I am so adamant I'll never have a 'self driving' vehicle. The shit I am watching when I drive they'll never be able to build into an algorithm. Young kid on a porch 200 feet away starting toward the street where a line of cars are parked? I'm on it. Brake applied until I see his path of progress toward the street ends.

Actually 57 months. He is eligible for early release next June. The 3rd Degree Murder Charge was thrown out as unconstitutional. He had to be resentenced on just the Manslaughter charge. The normal range of sentences is 41-57 months. He got the max normal allowed sentence.

Chauvin got more for a criminal that OD'd.
