John Ruskin. Supposedly he didn't realize women had pubic hair and was disgusted by it (the marriage was never consummated and was annulled six years later). His wife later wrote to her father that "he imagined women were quite different to what he saw I was , and that the reason he did not make me his Wife was that he was disgusted with my person. . ."

But remember that the story was never confirmed, and any guess (such as that she was menstruating at the time of the marriage) are nothing more than blind guesses.

98 I really like this one. Moore has captured a very feminine feeling with the languid poses of the women, the soft colors and dainty filigree of the objects, and the casual folds of the cloth. He sets the mood further with the deep velvety summer night sky. He created a sensual, relaxed image without the erotic to distract the viewer from the overall scene.

It is a very effective and evocative painting.

That was the painter, art and social critic John Ruskin
The net likes to speculate about the reasoning behind
his sexual problems having to do with his family, because of course they do. He didn't consummate his marriage for six years and his wife, Effie annulled the marriage and married the painter John Millais who used her as a model in a number of his paintings.

There were blondes in the Greek world. It isn't really clear what ancient Greeks looked like - Alexander the Great, for example, was blonde. But...that could have been Celtic blood - their were Celtic tribes bordering Macedonia.

Rome had people from all over Europe/Africa/Western Asia. I'm sure there were some northern Europeans - probably as slaves.

When California colonized CO, they made that flip well before the cemented total control. Colorado became a rotten borough on the next election. Vote by mail ensures "proper" outcomes.

I am concerned, however, about the safety of the vaccine for trans-trans individuals, like myself, and note that I am a protected class.

Rectangular brick look great, IMHO. However, if you have curves in the border, they don't fit together perfectly. Most (if not all) big box home improvement stores will have concrete edgers that are mostly rectangular but one end is rounded so you can fit curves nicely. Rocks are awesome but fitting them together is a task for people with more patience than I have.

No; I did not. If I were going to convert to RC, I would surrender my orders first. I am just interested in certain aspects of the RCC and the Eastern Orthodox Church as well, but being a Protestant I have certain theological things I disagree with , but for the sake of comity among dear brothers and sisters in Christ, you will note that I try to avoid religious arguments. I think given these contentious times it's important as Ben Franklin supposedly said-but not about religion-"We must hang together or most assuredly we will all hang separately." I am happy when any Christian find new depth of meaning in their faith or comes back to their faith. I read both Protestant and Catholic writers on faith and sometimes Jewish ones as well.

I guess if there are enough people, yeah most likely. I have no clue what a set list would look like, because my music focus is about as narrow as biden's attention span. I might be able to get through a few classic rock songs. I know pink floyd's Time and comfortably numb, Tull's aqualung, and a few others maybe. I can probably fake my way through other stuff. Other than that, its RUSH and metal. I'm sure I won't be the only guitar player, at least I frigging hope not. lol

All the others have been shipped off to foreign assignments (Garcetti in L.A.) Newsom *still* has a chance with libs who are turned off by Biden/Harris. He needs someplace to go after being Governor, and the DNC needs someone who's not Biden/Harris in the warmup seat. Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals. - C.S. Yeah, not surprising. Especially considering that in my limited experience, vast numbers of maternity ward nurses and techs are young women, and a non-trivial number of them are pregnant (and most of the rest are working on it). And it was posted on Xi NN: the narrative being spun that all these Covid-denier-deplorables need to be reined in sharply.

It's of a piece with a medical journal I saw awhile back that intoned how terrible Covid was not only for the "Covid deaths" but all the ancillary deaths due to delayed cancer treatment, neglect of general preventive medicine etc. But instead of the obvious point that MAYBE we "overreacted" a bit and caused social mahyem, they just advanced the talking point that all these deaths should be "attibutable to Covid" --so the next round of shutdowns, mandates etc will now have new stats of "elentymillion Covid deaths since ... so we obviously need stricter public health mandates."

Absolutely perverse. They are indeed the wife-beater shouting at his broken woman on the floor: "See what you made me do?!"

a. publishing the much broader, more robust study from Israel with the opposite conclusion, and
b. not providing any breakdown of serious illness in the prior infected and supposedly "re infected" --which would likely be in the single digits or non existent per million.

But that is flawed. They don't know how many of the unvaccinated have already had CCP flu and therefore have natural immunity.

This is exactly the kind of nonsense that frustrates me. I am generally pro-vaccination and I think the dangers of the Covid vaccine are wildly overblown, but when nonsense is strewn about as if it were the gold standard of careful epidemiological studies it makes trusting anything...pro or con...very difficult.

425 If an individual is vaccinated, and then becomes infected, I understand that the severity of symptoms is greatly reduced.

At least that's the party line. So far, I haven't seen any actual, you know, evidence. Only assertions from the same experts who were telling us a few months ago that the vax was 90-something% effective in preventing infection in the first place.

BUT.....while infected, are they able to pass the virus to another individual?

IANAV, but I don't see any reason why not. Again, some real evidence would be nice.

Simple answer is yes. Being vaccinated mostly means your body has the ability to cope with the infection and not get ill. It does not mean your body won't throw out virus particles while dealing with that infection.

This is sort of what I am thinking as well..

So a non vaccinated person becomes infected, they generally feel like shit, stay home, and self quarinteen because they feel like shit.
Therefore not encountering a large number of other folk.

OTOH, an infected vaccinated person may feel so well that they continue to interact with others, all while transmitting the disease?

In this case what appears to be happening is the spike protein that is being created is only one of a large number of variables in the virus, and a fairly simple one for the virus (as a strain) to thrive without.
Evolutionary pressure by the mRNA treatment encourages the success of mutants that do not carry the particular spike protein that the mRNA treatment primes your immune system to hunt for.
